I think that was another year you’re thinking of, maybe ‘79 or ‘80, because the only game OR lost in ‘75 was to Knox Central, 7-3. Beat Nashville Maplewood in the finals, 46-22. Wow, long time ago. Oak Ridge won state that year in 3AAA and were #3 in the nation, I believe. Many ages ago. Seems like we beat MC in the playoffs that season.

Clinton has plenty of talent, but they’re a strange team, who knows which team will show up. I thought OR (if we win, that is) plays the winner of the Rhea/Lenoir City game?

I mean, we already beat Powell earlier this year. Admittedly, some of Powell’ turnovers helped us early on, but we were definitely the superior team second half of that game. I know they’ve improved a lot since then, so it’d be very tough to beat them once again, but this has been a crazy season so far, I won’t rule out anything happening.

Well, of course not, Texas is humongous. It’s crazy to expect a state as small as Tennessee to put out that type talent.

They only have to knock off one, one of em gonna knock the other out. Not saying it’ll happen, but they don’t have to beat both. Honestly OR has the easiest path in the playoffs till the semifinals probably, where they would have to play either West or Powell.

2nd matchup between the two schools, with the first one being a 1st round win for EH in 2013. EH always has really good athletes. Hopefully OR can get fully healthy and move on to round 2.

Congratulations. Whether it matters or not, and ultimately it doesn’t in a playoff system like we have in High School, but that’s big regardless.

Expect this game to be a bit closer than everyone is predicting. #1 OR secondary has been basically been wiped out. I think only 1 starter remains, if that. #2 We may even sit more guys just to rest up for the playoffs. #3 kinda hard to get up for a game like this, especially CC. Just hoping our guys that do get to play, come out ready to play ball, because we all know how much CC would LOVE to come into OR and steal a victory. It’d make their season.
