Coming from a guy that thinks he knows football. You criticize and talk a lot about a lot of coaches but im sure you haven't won a lot of games or coach period.

Metro will be very good this year. Cane ridge is flat out #1, Pearl held its own vs MBA, East is better than we expected, Maplewood is loaded and will have a deep playoff run, Hillsboro is going through growing pains and injuries up front but defensively they are dominating, Hillwood can score but not stop no one from scoring, Stratford is physical as they come with one of the best Rbs in the city but offensively limited but defensive front is good, Overton still hasn't scored a point and cant stop anyone from scoring as well, HLs got a win, WC will get better, Antioch and glencliff will continue to be the bottom feeders

All this crying about recruiting smh. This is turning into a soap box. Why is this the main topic, everybody gets kids that's out of zone its just when you lose kids that's when the crying starts. If the " other coaches" got kids wanting to come to their school they definitely aren't turning them away. Lets focus on the Week 2 picks and not the excuses for why coaches aren't WINNING

I hear excuses. Terry Anderson dealt with the same dynamics. Overton has had talent in the last 4 years. The zone may not be as strong but kids that are zoned may not want to attend overton because of the decline.

I mentioned before that guy is always bad mouthing someone . So I think it's sour grapes all because the coach left. Why keep someone around that long if they were holding them back ? SOURGRAPES!!! If they decline this year the same guy will blame the new oc, the cheerleaders, the ticket booth attendant, Brentwood high, or anyone else.

Good for Hillsboro good luck to them this season. Hard tackle stop with your sour grapes, this is definitely not great for Overton... Good luck to the CATS hope to see them bounce back

Heard that as well. He and Brown are good friends from what I've been told, as well as he was Fitz first option to bring with him last year but he stayed . Good for HB bad for Overton if this is true.

Rumor is Pelham may look for his next coach from the school he just left from.

Agreed well said SteelCity Roller & Work! I think the Cats will pick it up, anyone that coaches knows what comes with it and outsiders always have the worst " OPINIONS" . I believe Williams calls the defense and they have struggled as well so we know it's not the X&Os cause coming from Blackman we know he knows his stuff.

Seems like some sour old grapes on this thread. I thought Overton has done well over the years under Williams leadership. Have you guys thought about who they have played and what they lost from this year? Like previously posted their school has almost 2k kids and they don't speak English or think football really means soccer . Seems to be struggling on both sides of the ball so I don't think it's coaching . I don't believe they changed coordinators since Williams has been there so maybe it's not x&o.... Metro seems to be struggling this year in my opinion. Good luck to them all tho.

Beefy you may be an angry Alum but you really dont know what all coaches go through. Gore is a great coach that cares about the kids and put alot into the program I know.He may be lenient but he works hard and does whatever for the school, Cant blame him for applying he has done all he can for Mcgavock. He is usually one of the first there and last to leave, the parents, players and ney sayers cant see that from the outside. I respect him and learned a lot from him. Back to the thread: this is the closing week for apps im excited to see what people will be hearing and who gets interviews and will they interview at the school or meet at a set location like RUN THE BALL suggest.

Uncertain about RA but Gore did for sure.... He let administration know he did but the thing is, the kids have heard about it as well, how will that roll over if he doesn't get it.....

Beefy and Runs way of hiring seems more logically and a much speedier process. That saves a lot of time I wouldn't think Campbell comes to Overton without some kind of inside of being the next football coach, he was asked to come to Overton... I can't wait to see who get this job. This is like the male soap opera lmao

That was pretty good DR!!!! I was thinking the same with assistants as well as current coaches... Quite funny about Murry, cause that's true as well. But I thought of Maybe Broome. Adeylott , bubba and Law. Not Thompson now since he a principal. What about thigpin from Hillsboro as the assistants I don't think of any worth it as well So, Campbell, MacPhail, Crawford are current assistants. Gore and probably Murray (since he applies for every job) are current head coaches. Adeylott, Thompson, and maybe Bubba out of retirement are former Metro coaches. No current metro assistants at other schools have a chance anyway.
