After all of the talk about HVA's pitching greatness the silence on this board is amazing.

HTV, that's the real selling point...extra money for TSSAA. If you could convince them that more money could be generated by a different format they would change it. It has happened in other sports, like track. If there is money they (TSSAA) will come!

Wow, great game between Farragut and Halls. What the heck happened at HVA? I know Bearden can hit but HVA is better than decent. Can anyone who was there expalin 16-2?

The only top players I don't see are Tackett (AC) and maybe Hull (OR), Roberts (K), so overall I would say the coaches got it right.

I get it now...I was at a H.S. game in West Konxville once when I heard a parent yell at his kid after a failed bunt attempt..."I pay good money for hitting lessons son,I don't want you bunting." A strong, young, "gung-ho" guy might have a problem with an established booster organization and some strong personalities and agendas. Hopefully the right person will surface. I still think it will be Rice from Karns.

Wow, so much Grace bashing. I used to be the only one. The reason that people say so much isn't because of the winning, it's because of the blatant cheating. Carry on! You other bashers are doing fine without me!

My son's walkup was a rap song last year and a christian song this year. He hit better last year.

I have already said on another thread that Renegar and Fronning have worked harder for the last 4 years than the other coaches in the district. My note goes to Renegar.

I am not sure you can beat the grind of the High School season. It seems like you play 40 games in 50 days. The mental challenge of that is significant. Summer ball is a blast though. The only thing I have against it is "daddy ball." Once the boys get over 12 or so you need to back away and get a real coach in the summer.

I think the awards should be won by the best pitcher and player on the best team for the regular season. Halls won the title. I like Painter for pitcher (as I have said) and Smith for MVP.

I agree and think that Farragut and Bearden will have an advantage. Farragut has power arms...I have said all year that HVA doesn't. That will be the difference when those two play in (I think) the regional final.

Yeah, he does teach English. I wonder if there will be a retirement in that department? As long as Bearden is playing, they will not announce anything.

Among the teams you mentioned I really like HVA and OR. Those two programs play in the summer together, work year round together. They for sure don't do that at Karns. Not sure about AC or Powell but the two teams in the winners bracket have worked two years and in my opinion put in more time together than any others in the district.

Powell will be good. I wouldn't put too much stock in JV. Two years ago Karns JV won almost every game...how did that work out for them this year?

Yeah, this "cheating" thing is really dumb. It rained, the field doesn't drain well. End of story.

This group of kids and parents seemed to fall apart when things went against them from 11 year old ball on...I thought they had grown out of it by this year. I was wrong.

Wow, have you ever been to the Halls field? Even if they tarp it, it doesn't drain well. It may have rained a lot more over there than it did where you live too. Basically, if you win the district you get to host the tournament...that means you decide to tarp or not.

Good post...I think we will know soon after Bearden is out of the district tournament. They would have to win two tough games today. We may know by Friday or Monday.

Clinton beats Powell...imploded two years in a row. I predicted Powell would run the table....so much for my baseball knowledge.
