I agree. I believe letting athletes play is a no brainer however the fans in the stands part is the issue. I wish more people were like you, I was at a game last week where players have to submit their four names for tickets and one gentlemen came that was not on the list and absolutely dog cussed the teacher at the gate, the administrator, and then the SRO before being escorted out. It was really embarrassing how some people act. Unfortunately some people say they want the students to play but are unwilling to sacrifice to make that happen.

Thanks I found it on Twitter. If schools are smart they would play games without fans the 1st two weeks back. Order becomes very vague with regards to TSSAA. Maybe Bernard in company will lay out more strict guidelines that schools will actually follow.

Gov. Lee just announced a new executive order limiting indoor gatherings to less than 10. He specifically mentioned HS athletics. Says he is working with TSSAA. Sounds like it will be for 30 days.

A judge would laugh that out of the court room but I am sure there is a lawyer who will gladly collect some money for whatever yahoo wants to try to file that lawsuit. The reality is indoor sporting events are far more difficult to manage and mitigate risk due to people being unwilling to follow simple protocols so the athletes can play. I have been to a couple of HS wrestling matches and fans wear mask in then take them off. If watching student athletes is so important then follow the protocols.

Also ask yourself why less than two months from the TSSAA state wrestling tournament there has been no plans made for the tournament.

You didn’t answer my question. On what grounds would they sue? I have spoken to multiple TSSAA officials across the state and there have been discussions and it is well within their jurisdiction to do so.

What would someone sue on the basis of? I would love to hear this. Someone could sue but they might as well burn the money they would be spending on lawyers.

I believe a compromise given the current state is to allow games and matches to continue but without fans until January. It still allows the athletes to compete while mitigating potential spread.

Lipscomb-CPA was close as well. But 2 out of 9 isn’t a good weekend of football for casual football fans.

From East to West the same rumor is circulating. After the TSSAA makes their money this weekend, there is not anything holding them back from making this decision. What worries me is if they delay it for a a couple weeks does indoor sports ever start back up?

This game reminded me of the 2009 1A Championship where no one gave Union City a chance and they beat a highly touted, extremely talented SP for the title. Back in 09, Union City’s FB stole the show much like the young freshmen from Fayetteville today.

Dude I am not even a Greeneville fan. Just saying Alcoa has accomplished all they can in 3A. Greeneville is not on the same level of success as Alcoa.

This game is over. No one in 3A is close to Alcoa. Really wish they would have moved up to 4A the next two years. Would love to see them compete with the Greeneville’s and E-Town to come out of the East. No shame Milan. You got a great squad but the F5 is different.
