  1. It was the 2014 team, Maryville was also ranked #14 http://usatodayhss.com/rankings/expert/boys/football/2014/19
  2. Beat probably the best Knox Central team ever in the 4th round, also that game was played at Neyland Stadium.
  3. I hate to bring bad news, but the incoming freshman lineman Alcoa had that started in the future stars game will be going to Catholic now. Heard about it last week. Don't shoot the messenger. Alcoa always has the talent to build a strong OL/DL.
  4. So a family is moving 200 miles because the mother has been friends with Coach Matthews since high school, but the family looked at several schools? News came out about this kid going to Catholic back at the beginning of last season so this has been in the works for awhile. And an article was written back in October. https://gridironscouting.com/2015/10/up-next-2020-beast-ready-to-enroll-knox-catholic/
  5. Fulton succeeded on all three 2 point conversions. Rhea County is a very good well coached team. Good luck to them this fall.
  6. Quit acting oblivious. I hope you are smarter than that. Go ahead and talk the AD, he'll know exactly who the kid is.
  7. Don't guess you planned on mentioning that Alcoa was all over him in the spring trying to get him to come there were you? How someone from the school was gonna get him to Alcoa everyday so the mother wouldn't have to take one sibling to Fulton and the other to Alcoa. When it came down to it, it was more convieient for brother and sister to go to the same school. Must be a hard pill to swallow when a good athlete chooses not to go to Alcoa.
  8. I thought it was a legitimate question, but thanks for the clarification and info. I wasn't making a theory, I didn't know there was still family in Knoxville.
  9. Wish those kids the best wherever they continue their high school career. But I have to ask. Who was the Davis kid living with since it sounds like his mom was still living in Texas? Was it a "bonafide" guardian? And do Silvey and Whaley have to sit out a year? I'm not 100% but I think transferring private to public they have to sit out unless its 20 miles away (not sure) from their previous school.
  10. #5 is the kid from Texas, right? Is he from Knoxville originally or just moved here?
  11. They will stop selling pre sale tickets at noon.
  12. Still plenty of time till Friday. Hopefully this tread will get back on track.
  13. I have to give Catholic the advantage in this one. I believe Elizabethton being a run heavy team plays right into the Irish strength. They have a very good front 7. Ethan Thomas is a very good back, but he might have a tough night.
  14. If Catholic wins they will be the 1 seed because of the tiebreaker they have over Fulton. The Irish have more teams on their schedule winning 50% of their games than Fulton. This is all assuming Fulton handles business against Carter.
  15. I'm pretty sure they were undefeated. They have also defeated Chattanooga Notre Dame, Greeneville, and a school in Kentucky.
  16. The Fulton 8th graders struggled to get going on offense today. Hats off to BA, they are very talented and disciplined. This is always a good reality check game for the falcons because they usually run through the Knoxville league.
  17. They are playing Brentwood Academy at Fulton on the 13th.
  18. You have names of those commitments? I only found one on the recruiting websites.
  19. Playing in division 1 without a true 1.8 multiplier sounds like pretty special treatment to me. I bet CPA would love to have that and be able to play in 2A and not have to worry about Alcoa. You all were in 5A where you belong.
  20. Bottom line is Catholic should be in 5A, but because of a awful ruling by the TSSAA they get to play 4A. With the multiplier they have over 1200 students. They are a private school playing public ball without a true 1.8 multiplier. It shouldn't matter if a multiplier moves a private school up 2 classes, the multiplier was put in for a reason and should be enforced.
  21. I knew what type of school it was, I thought they were allowed to participate in sports but none did. Shows what thinking gets me. Thanks for the clarification!
  22. Yes they can. For the record the alternative school on Anderson Co. campus isn't for the purpose of suspended students, it is a CTE school. Knox Halls has a similar school as well.
