  1. I think someone got their scores misquoted, go check again...
  2. I'd put these Freshmen names in the hat from TNAAU Region 1 as ones to watch next year in HS. Mason Jakob (Kingsport DB), Cole Gumlick (Lakeway), Cameron Helton (???), Jordan Sexton (Halls), Hunter Sturgill (Heritage), Riley Lee (Maryville), Brody Casto (Heritage), Max Norman (Kingsport DB), Harlen Hunley (Halls), Wyatt Howard (Pigeon Forge), the Ferrells (Crockett), Ricky Reyes (Pigeon Forge) All but 2 of these kids wrestled on the Region 1 All Star team that dominated the other region dual teams this year. Had Sexton and Howard not been hurt it would have been even worse. There may be some others I've left off since I'm not sure about their grade level, but this group is pretty solid.
  3. I've seen them just as much as you have, still not buying they're definitely better.
  4. Greeneville isn't winning a team state title, call it what you want by they're not going to beat Pigeon Forge anytime soon nor will they beat Halls once this MS group moves up, PERIOD.
  5. It's Jakob, at least spell his name right.
  6. I'll have to disagree with you on that one, nobody is "definitely" ahead of Sturgill by any means of the imagination.
  7. Depending on how they split up, Kingsport DB could have a good Freshman class. The old Hammer-new Kingsman club team is upper east TN was loaded this year but not sure how many of them will be split between DB or Science Hill.
  8. 2nd or 3rd best?!?! I'm interested to hear who you think is better but they're definitely not challenging Cleveland in 2-3 years. They have 3 really good ones on their youth team right now but not near enough to field a team to match Cleveland or even Wilson Central.
  9. Maybe, but next year will be the only year they do it IF they do it. Greeneville's youth program is almost non existent and Halls is moving up a number of young studs who would have won their fair share of matches in HS this year.
  10. Correct. If you guys keep a few of those upcoming Freshmen on the team you'll be tough again. I suspect one Freshman in particular will have a few of these "experts" scratching their heads a bit as to how he's as good as he is as a Freshman.
  11. Tell your friend that as far as I know they're still in the small school division.
  12. Yes sir, Halls moving down is going to hurt a lot of feelings over the next few years. The A title will run through Regions 2 or 3 for the next few years.
  13. I'm in the loop plenty and believe me when I say that you guys will need all the transfers you can get over the next few years. The decline will be the chief reason Rankin stays in 3A for the foreseeable future, you may not like it or agree with it but it's the truth.
  14. Better? Brace yourself for the slow decline of the tin heads...
  15. Florida too. You won't believe the amount of California, Colorado, and Florida calls we've been getting. Seems as though a YouTube family video has been very complimentary of our Red Rebels.
  16. Cody winning on a jacked up knee isn't impressive to you? Most kids would have went to the hospital with the injury he had, none of them would have won a state title though.... Except Cody.
  17. They had 0 medalists this year and outside of Retherford what youth do they have that's going make some noise next year?
  18. Science Hill isn't making the top 4 next year.
  19. All factual and I'm not a Region 4 guy.
  20. Good post. It's like splitting hairs with kids being on or off this list but I'm going to throw out my guy Stadel as at least a Sophomore honorable mention. Nobody's touching Cody for the Top Sophomore spot, but to make Stadel's case for a spot on any list he has; • 2x medalist (6th & 3rd) in a weight class dominated by upperclassmen • 3 losses this year were to the Heavyweight champ (2) & 4th place 195 pounder (1). Someone can fact check me on this, but I believe his only career losses in Tennessee have come against a TSSAA state medalist (A/AA, AAA, DII) but he also has a win against most of them.
  21. 10 days? You sat on this one for 10 days?!? How much do I owe you?
  22. The most I can remember is Overton in '96 & '97 having 4 or 5 both years (I'm sure you remember better than me). Different time back then, but still extremely impressive for you guys.
  23. Freakishly strong kid, we had him 2 years ago and our wrestler said he's the strongest opponent he'd ever faced.
