  1. I think the Chattanooga area and other TN coaches have done a great job getting Daniel Dennis as well as others in the fold for TN, so no need to bring someone else in. That and considering the fact TN had a number of AA's this year leads me to believe out coaches are doing a good job. Only improvements I would suggest is getting our numbers up for summer wrestling, but that's not the fault of the coaches by any means.
  2. Ivy has more than you think working for him.
  3. If McDaniel didn't tech Kodiak Cannedy 2 seasons ago, he ain't teching Braden Ivy this season. I know how good McDaniel is, I coached against him as a middle schooler and it appears you're sleeping heavily on Ivy. Ivy placed 2nd last year at Super 32 and outside of Ashton Davis he was the best P4P middle school wrestler last year in TN. Don't think because he's in Morristown that he's lacking quality partners or coaches either. Ivy travels as much or more than most kids in the state and for anyone to think any kid in TN is going to tech fall him doesn't have a clue.
  4. Many of the upcoming Freshmen could have been Freshmen last year. The difference is not as big as you think. I agree with Durdon on almost every point he's made.
  5. No way in blue hades is McDaniel tech falling Ivy. I'm not a gambler, but I'd be tempted put up a full month's salary that Ivy wins 106 this year.
  6. I bet he did, StraightOuttaSchool too...
  7. Where did you get that kind of math from? The 13 streets? Rockford? Maybe Throwtheslant tutored you at some point....
  8. Congratulations SS, I called it after our scrimmage with you guys that Oak Ridge would be tough to beat this year.
  9. Wrong, while you're at it go ahead and extend that Alcoa losing streak to the Rebels since you're making predictions.
  10. I mentioned both of then already, I wasn't sure where they were headed though.
  11. I'm not 100% sure this guy has ever been to Shields Stadium. All visiting teams get a prime parking spot on Cedar Street behind the score board and the road is usually shut off by Maryville's finest. The visitor's bleachers aren't that big, but they're on about the safest terrain known to man with another set of Maryville PD manning the corner of Cedar and White. As far as our visitor locker room, sure it ain't the greatest. I've been to some a heckuva lot worse, outside of that what do you want us to do? Pull out the lazy boys and bean bag chairs so you guys can kick back?
  12. What grading are you talking about? That's the flattest area around the stadium and our home side (if anything) is the only side with any type of elevation.
  13. I highly doubt Alcoa could last against Oakland, but who's to say. I'll be happy to win by just 1.
  14. Hahahahahahahahahahaha! (pant-pant) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm a RFL and even I know NO ONE is beating Oakland by 17 much less them tin cans off of Faraday!!
  15. Tristan Payne is going to be an 8th grader again? I thought he "redshirted" last year like Dixon.
  16. Skidmore is a Sophomore now. He was TSSAA runner up last year as a Freshman.
  17. I know Pigeon Forge has a stellar Freshman class coming in. I'm interested to see where some of last year's 8th graders went. If I had a list of Freshmen from East TN to look for it would include; Braden Ivy (???), Keyveon Roller (CAK), Hunter Mason (???), Kodiak Cannedy (???), Luke Belcher (Bradley), Josh Parton (Pigeon Forge), Jaxon Palm (Heritage), Kyle Cooley (???), Tripp Miller (Science Hill), Christian Underwood (Gibbs), Colby Dalon (Pigeon Forge), Garrett Foreman (Pigeon Forge), Wes Day (Maryville), Peyton Pridemore (Science Hill), Tagen Cagle (Gibbs), Ashton Davis (Cleveland) , Tristan Payne (???), David Dixon (???), Dallas Thacker (Maryville), Eli Rittenhouse (???), Austin McClure (Bradley Central) I know I'm missing a few and not completely sure where some are going to be at, but I'd suspect all of these kids to have a good number of victories in varsity matches.
  18. We're going to host a MS dual tournament the weekend of 12/1 at Maryville. We've had a really good turnout the last few years with 6-8 MS teams showing up and 4-6 ES teams wrestling earlier in the morning. I can possibly get a few more top teams say from Bradley, Cleveland, Science Hill, etc to come up if we got with them now. Some of the top MS teams in the Knoxville area like Pigeon Forge, Heritage, William Blount, Halls, & Gibbs have consistently been there. Having you guys there would definitely make for a good day of competition for our MS teams if we can make it happen.
  19. Cool your jets. I've known many of these kids and to be fair they haven't had as much success as the classes ahead or behind them. They've come a long way since getting blanked by Alcoa a few years back in 8th grade. Things can change and like I said I'm happy they worked hard to get there.
  20. Didn't make it, my daughter had an open house at preschool and we ate at TC's afterwards. We drove by though and I had updates texted to me.
  21. Those Sophomores have worked hard, they haven't played well the previous 2 years and if what you say is true they've really improved. That may be our weakest class talent wise outside of 2 skill players. Glad to hear their hard work has paid off and they're playing with a chip on their shoulder.
  22. It was definitely a big crowd and they're going to be a tough team to beat this year. Good test for both teams.
  23. In my head like the annoying little brother I never had??? Then yes, but don't get your hopes up. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  24. We're not going back to the stone ages when you went to school, but it validates my point that the whole time that Maryville has been in 6A when they could have been in 5A. Heck, even Fulton decided to move up! But oooohhh no, good ole Gary wants his records so his Rankin 'Rithematic equals 3A all the way.
  25. Our record against Alcoa is 63-23-3, how does that add up? I'll go out on a limb and add +2 to that win total for the Red Rebels over the next 2 years. That's almost a 3 to 1 ratio. Now I know since you're from Rockford that ratios and big numbers might cause your brain to rattle a bit, but I'll also point out that when Farragut competed in 5A two seasons ago their student enrollment was higher than Maryville's. Hopefully that makes some sense, but unfortunately your Rankin 'Rithematic would have you believing you could get a $1 out of 15 cents.
