  1. Prophet- nobody is interested in what the redleggers did 2-3 years ago.. let it go. As for my predictions: 106- Chalifoux beats Murphy, Murphy has won every match up between the two this year, but from what I've heard every one has been a battle. I like Chalifoux here to avenge his loss over the former Tornado. Best match in my opinion. 113- Oliver beats Westbrooks, it would take a lot for Westbrooks to pull off the upset, but if anyone could do it it would be him. I like Oliver here, but closer than the experts think! 120- Alex Elsea wins big over Santi, Santi wins a close match in the semis, but Elsea wins by major, if not more in the finals. Elsea is a legit candidate for OW in my opinion. Tough to edge out Baker though. 126- Nick Gray over Fisher, close match, extremely exciting, two experts on their feet. Should be fun for the fans! 132- Adam Connell over Mike Akers, the 3x State Champ, Brunner gets upset by Akers in the semis, Brunner looked weak at 132 in the duals, no stamina at all, weight cut must be getting to him. What happened to him bumping to 138, did Sutherland beat him out? 138- Cosgrove over Olson, Cosgrove will be HUGE at 138, simply too much for the field. Wins a comfortable decision in the finals. Although, Olson wins a close match in the semis in exciting fashion over Sutherland. 145- Marchetti over Parrish, Parrish has been on fire of late, looked dominate in a win via pin over Sutherland in the duals...BUT the bowling ball, Marchetti is too much for the West TN standout 152- Baker over ? Is anyone else left in the weight class? Baker OW. Pins his way through tourney. 160- Hataway over Popp, Hataway reverses a close decision from the duals. Boring match... zzz as are all the matches with redleggers (aka the stall-leggers) 170- Walthall over Parker, Parker a tremendous freshman, but age and experience comes into play...I like the Senior year 18years old vs 14 years old . Take your pick! 182- Hoodenpyle over Clements? Can Clements make it through the tournament to even get there? What's the status on his injuries? If he's healthy I like him to make the finals, but ultimately Hoodenpyle defeats the 4 foot box, due to leverage and weight. Funny how things come back to bite people, should have never left the trublu! 195- Garstin over McOlgan, Garstin keep great position, I see McOlgan having a hard time finding ways to score on Garstin. 220- Mason over Cook, Mason also a legit contender for the OW, people tend to forget about him since he wrestles for Brentwood Academy and not one of the BIG FOUR (CBHS, FRHS, MCCALLIE, baylor) 285- Robertson over Armstrong, Robertson just too big for Armstrong in this one I agree with everyone pretty much as far as the team standings go... It will be very tough for anyone to even give CBHS a test, and if they're going to win, I hope they go ahead and break the little redleggers record of 315... Still that's irrelevant, Prophet. Father Ryan and McCallie will battle it out for second and third, and the redleggers just don't have the same firepower without Holloway and Powell in the lineup. 1. Christian Brothers High School 2. The McCallie School 3. Father Ryan High School 4. redleggers
  2. EPIC! HaHa! A Clements loss tomorrow would probably be equally gratifying as a Tornado team win. I'm sure wrestle90 would likely agree with that one!
  3. You're telling me a kid who stands at about 5 foot 2 is wrestling 182lbs??? Good luck... lol. Regardless, from what I heard, Powell and Holloway are out for sure, the 5"2 182lber and Sutherland are doubtful. Also heard, Branden Brunner has not practiced all week... not sure if it is sickness or injury related... guess we will find out tomorrow. Should be fun! Everything seems to be alining perfectly for the trublu boys to finally end the streak! Trublu2
  4. http://bcove.me/uzwwnnp2 Attached is a link to McCallie's Varsity Wrestling website where head coach Mike Newman previews Friday's match. Enjoy! Nashwrestling- I heard the match was sold out by Monday afternoon believe it or not. Although, a Baylor alum told me that 50 tickets have been saved for the general public and will go on sale Friday at 4pm. All just talk though. Anyone from the school behind Wal Mart have any exact details?
  5. Valid point. Although despite cheering against the boys in red, I can't believe Eslinger missed out on BOTH of them. I agree though regarding Clements. Choosing North Carolina is a no brainer...glad to see he will be wearing that truBLU once again! But what were Brunner's reasons for taking North Dakota over UTC? I know Bono is there, but I can't imagine that being a better place to compete than in-state at UTC. Also, I will say it again!!! IF Heath is the intelligent guy I think that he is, then he WON'T let Elsea slip away too. Regardless of what Brunner and Clements' reasons were for not staying at UTC, Heath MUST keep instate ties if he wants to be successful. He can't keep losing guys like this. Hope to see Elsea sporting that Blue and Gold next year!

  7. This is a great idea! Some dates to throw in there... McCallie Invitational 12/21 McCallie, MBA, Father Ryan, Baylor quad at Father Ryan 1/2 McCallie at Baylor 1/25
  8. Well, well! Another Gordon Connell prodigy signing on to continue at the next level. Congrats, but hope many haven't forgotten where this one came from LOL. With that said, Houston is a great wrestler and I'm glad he's overcome all his injuries. One question though: How is Heath letting talent like Houston and Brunner slip away? Would think these are the types of guys you would want to keep instate... Hope he can convince Alex Elsea to stay in town and become a Moc!
  9. When is this highly anticipated elite list supposed to come out? LOL. Garret, You're like that girl we all tried to date back in high school that would always lead us on as if we had a chance to get a date with her then when you ask her out you just get shot down! LOL. Com'on G!
  10. No way Porter and Clements compare to Toliver, Trotter, and Usman. Also, Potter is by far the most decorated coach in Chattanooga...Hands down! And I just find it bizarre that Huesman and Ollerich graduate and Baylor feels they have to bring in a new QB from OUT OF THE COUNTRY...not to mention the BRAZILIAN kickers! McCallie does it with ordinary Chatt-town kids... the way it should be! BlueMom- Amen baby!

    Baylor

That is fair enough to say regarding the recruiting before high school because I'm sure you are right...both schools are guilty. As far as Clements and Robinson...it is simply ABSURD! To my knowledge, Clements' issues at McCallie were football related...When Baylor heard he was unhappy they did everything they could to pursade him to go to the red school. To steal a kid who was a multi legacy at McCallie is simply unacceptable. One of the many reasons I despise the red place...they do things the wrong way. Never would of thought Hal Clements' boy would be wearing red??? He was ILLEGALLY recruited. I still can't believe a bigger deal wasn't made regarding his transfer. Robinson- Here is our chance to catch Baylor in the act! We know what happened with Clements and likely Brunner too...so TSSAA do your job this time and CATCH/PUNISH baylor! I heard that Robinson was brought in to Baylor's wrestling camp this year on what would have been the equivelent of what would be an official visit in college...Other schools don't have the option to do this... it makes for an obvious uneven playing field. McCallie may be a boarding prep school too, but they do NOT recruit at the extremes that baylor has the past x amount of years! Conclusion: TSSAA needs to step in and do their job. Warn Baylor or place them on probation!
  12. McCallie advantages: Better all around skill players, better coaching, motivation after losing the past 4 Baylor advantages: illegal out of COUNTRY players (kicker and QB)...two important positions! I see the BigBlu staying tru2whatWeDo! McCallie pounds it down the red's throat and pulls away in the second half. Johnston need to limit turnovers at QB, serve as a game manager, and let his talent at the skill positions win this one for him. Chattanooga's FINEST 28 that school behind wal-mart 24

    Baylor

Put this in perspective, take the transfers off Baylor's team and they go from good to average... Just saying. When you go out and hand pick who you want and steal other team's wrestlers (McCallie=Clements & Murphy, CBHS=Robinson, Tullahoma=Brunner) it is monumentally advantageous to your team! AND that's not even including the one's they recruited before high school such as (Holloway, Dendy, Powell, Sotherland, Canada, and I'm sure I'm leaving out more). IT'S ABSURD!!!!!!!
  14. Some DII match ups I'm really looking forward to: Murphy v Addison "No one gets more fired up than me" Cornell Alex Elsea v Tate "Transfer" Robinson James "I wanna tilt like my brother" Westbrook v Mike Eckhart Mark Marchetti v Houston "I bleed blu" Clements Adam "My Dad's a genie" Connell v. Grey kid from Christain Bros. Oliver v. Cole Holloway Definitely some possible great matchups this year! Hope they happen,,,speaking hypothetically though is always fun!
  15. GHOUSE- When is your article going to be published?
  16. No one was expecting the big blu to play them like we did last year, and the blu took them right down to the wire! Hope we can someway do it again. Really hope Potter finds a way to get Toliver the ball more... kid's electric! Also, hope young QB Johnson can make a significant improvement from week 1 at McMinn! Go Blu!
  17. This will likely be my lost post on this topic but MOCS2011- it's time for you to shut up. You have got to be one of the most annoying posters this board has ever seen. I grew up hating the red team and do til this day, but in their defense McCallie is a "prep boarding school" too and as a matter of fact has more "prep boarders" that the red school does. Without a doubt I feel Robinson should have to sit out a year, but as for recruiting I doubt that the Red faithful actually "recruited him". as much as i hate to say it Baylor has one of the best wrestling programs in the south, i can't blame him for going there. It's time for you (Mocs2011) to quit being jealous of the people affilated with these prep boarding schools that you seem to want to outcast because it isn't fair... boo hoo hoo get over it! I can promise you that teams like Ryan, CBHS, MBA, etc. (d2 teams) enjoy competing against the "prep boarding schools" like mccallie and baylor and would hate the idea of them not being able to compete in the tssaa. And good news for you is your public school doesn't have to worry about one of these schools taking your public school state title. If they want to compete against them in the regular season thats their choice! Don't hate what you don't have, Mocs! As always , Go Blu!
  18. LOL! Got a chuckle out of that one, Nash! Congrats though to Brandon, from your foes of the bigblunation. Good luck this year, stay healthy, and make TN proud when wrestling in college.
  19. Thought I might jump in here and give my thoughts... Ultimately it's the kids and their parent's decision to send them to school wherever that may be. I am as blue as it gets, but i will say I don't think Ben Nelson is out recruiting any of these kids to come to Baylor. If any "recruiting" is being done, it is by wrestlers, wrestlers parents, and/or alumni. Is that ok? sure why not. With that being said, there is NO DOUBT in my mind Tate Robinson should have to sit out a year. I don't care if the kid moved, when you get kicked out of a school and transfer to another school in the same division (d2) you should have to sit out a year, no questions asked. Moving cities should have no affect if the schools are competing for the same championship title. Examples) Houston "I'll always bleed trublu" Clements left for the darkside ... kid sat out a year. That's how it should be, and it is no different for Robinson. CBHS and Baylor are in the same DIVISION FOR PETE'S SAKE! Example2) Blaike Henry left McCallie for Soddy Daisy, TJ Satterfields left McCallie for Blount County, both were immediately eligible because they were transferring to a school in a different division. Should Baylor have to compete in a prep only league? Not at all. From a McCallie standpoint, I would never want to see that as it would take away from the excitement every winter. I doubt father ryan, or any of the d2 schools would really want that either.Really though, what does ryan have to be mad about anyways, they whip those red ba$tar**'s every year anyways. Just an old farts thoughts! hope i havent put you all to sleep. GO BLU!
  20. Since everyone seems to want to beat around the bush... I'll just come out and say it... It is real simple, Garrett everyone wants to know one thing: Assuming Robinson is transferring to Baylor, will he be eligible for competition next year? And yes, I am gearing this question towards you because you are the brain of this board! Love ya buddy LOL!
  21. Unfortunately, Robinson will be wrestling at Baylor next year. I, myself, happen to be a fervent EBE supporter and heard from a Red insider that Tate has signed the contract and already payed a portion of his tuition. As for the rumors about Blair Academy... they are simply rumors and as far as I know of he having family there is simply not true (I wish it was). I would like to apologize for dogging on the school behind Wal Mart for recruiting as I do agree with mtnwrestling's comment regarding success breading success. With that being said, I realize that all private schools do a little underground recruiting here and there and that is why we have two divisions now. While I am there I might as well say how much I respect Soddy by God for still competing against the private schools when Steve Henry was at the helm... I hope they continue to do so.
  22. Best 10 I can think of in no particular order: Alex Elsea - McCallie Jacob Stevens - Soddy Blaike Henry - Soddy Gage Richmond - Soddy Houston Clements - Baylor Brandon Brunner - Baylor Nick Gray- CBHS Kaleb Baker - CBHS Mark Marchetti - Father Ryan Tj Satterfield - Williams Blount
  23. Last I heard Tate Rubinsen was headed to that dreadful school in red behind wal mart... too bad ward graduated, now we will have to rely on Elsea to take him out. It's amazing the illegal recruiting the red school does. question: who currently on their roster was not recruited? PeeWee Murphee- traitor Powell- knox county? Brunner- Tullahoma Southerland- swayed from being a central purple pounder Klements- traitor Ryan Parker- Knox county? Is it safe to assume they will be shipping in a heavy weight from Iowa this year? Just hope Klement and murfee haven't forgot where they came from and that their blood will always run blue. Personally, I feel Gordon Connell and Mike Newman should be applauded in always developing the talent they are given versus stealing other teams wrestlers, recruiting, etc...
  24. 106 oliver 113 elsea 120 connell 126 robinson 132 westbrooks 138 ward 145 kent...I mean BAKER 152 Cate 160 Clements...will always bleed blu 170 Hooker...connell's master piece 182 holmes 195 fisher 220 Mason 285 Youngblood
  25. Whoever stated they would love to see a battle of two Chattanooga teams in the finals ... I'm with you! Sure my team didn't have the best showing this past friday, BUT I still see there being a good chance of an upset in the semis and hopefully a rematch with Baylor. Of course A LOT would have to go in the EBE's favor, but hey it's state for crying out loud... ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN MY FRIENDS!!!! Got to believe in the Blue! As for the semi final match up. I can't wait to see the highly anticipated bout between Ward and Marchetti. I think Ward wins this one with Marchetti not being used to the drastic weight cut yet. Ward is in incredible shape and always seems to find a way to win late into the match. 138 would be a loaded weight class by the time Clements got down for the Traditionals but the word circulating Chatt-Town is that he simply can't make it and will stay at 145 to take on Baker...What a match that will be this weekend! With him staying at 145 I'm assuming Popp will be the one dropping to 138, which still makes this an super entertaining weight. My biased duals predictions SEMIS: McCallie 37 Father Ryan 32 Baylor 31 CBHS 29 FINALS: McCallie 38 Baylor 34 What can i say... I'm trublu
