  1. The Raiders are scrappy with a lot of young players. They should give ya'll a good time for a couple of quarters.
  2. Whichever team from the East that makes it to Chattanooga should be relatively healthy to face any of these three after they've beaten each other up. Survival of the fittest in the West!
  3. City finishes with the win 40 to 7 and leaves points on the board.. Sloppy offense still gets it done and defense really stepped up to stymie the Eagle offense. On to Round 2 with a match up with Gleason on The Hill next a Friday..
  4. THANK YOU @GeneralForrest. It's Friday-eve and a sad six posts on this thread. And three of them are mine. Are there no Eagles fans to spar with? No one to tell about the Smoked Bologna sandwiches (subject to availability) in the concession stand? It's a sad state of affairs when there's no one to play with. Oh well, the Tigers will take care of business tomorrow night, rain or shine, and then we can consider our next opponent after that. Eagleville will need to play their best game if they hope to take out Dresden in the first round. I don't think that will happen. And speaking of smoked, ya'll should easily take care of Mt. Pleasant as well. Forrest by 21 easy.
  5. I keep hitting "refresh" and still nothing. how 'bout them Vols?
  6. Amen! We'll be ready when it comes.
  7. City takes on Eagleville on Friday to try and wrap up the region's top spot. What do the Eagles bring to the table to try and upset the apple cart?
  8. I think his chest concaved on itself and his soul left his body for a second. Glad he was okay afterwards though. It was the prettiest textbook hit I’ve seen in a while. Someone in the bathroom said he heard it.
  9. He is #13 and has helped in the secondary. If you watched the game video he was the one that STUCK the red bank WR.
  10. 5:46 left in the first? Listenin to the radio feed and wondering if theres a delay in the broadcast.
  11. Amen brother. Good luck tonight--stay healthy.
  12. is that a triple-mercy rule? Running clock in the first quarter?
  13. City tries to right the ship by traveling to district rival Huntland. Huntland is struggling, and City is coming off a slap-in-the-face loss to 4A Red Bank. Will the Tigers wake up and give Huntland a good ole fashioned butt-whooping? Time will tell. Nobody from the Hornet's camp posts anything so how about everyone else's comments?
  14. it sure didn't help that RB's defense was in our backfield more than our running backs. We were a hot mess, both offensively and defensively, and special teams as well. Two trips inside the 12 and got nothing. Muffed punt return. Tipped pass that ended up in another WR's hands for six. 60 + yard run by RB that he was hit at least five times and didn't wrap him up. You'd think we'd been off for a week or that it was Week 1 game again. We were flat and played uninspired football. Still have two games on the schedule to make a statement, and both are district games. We'll bounce back, and hard.
  15. IMO, it is going to affect the way the team approaches this next game. They have realized that they cannot just show up and expect the opponent to roll over for them. They have realized that they have to put in the work and execute their offensive and defensive schemes. Last year is last year, and it was great, but it's going to be a whole different path and nobody cares about what you did last year, it's, what are you going to do this year?
  16. Thinking of eating at Merv's. Little burger joint I came across while GoogleMapping our route just south of the school. Anyone been there/done that? If so, what do you guys/gals recommend?
  17. Dude, I will make it my mission in life to bring you Smoked Bologna sandwiches Friday.
  18. After a week off for Fall break, the Fayetteville Tigers play up, up, and away, traveling to Choo-Choo town's 4-A Red Bank. What can our little 'ole team expect this Friday? I hope we can hold our own. I tried checking out the C 3 & C 4 -- A pages, but didn't want to dig that far back.
  19. Last I saw on the Facebook page for Cornersville High School @Tide21.
  20. There’s a lot of football left to be played before you put us in the finals vs South Pitt. Just keeping it real. (Although I’d love to be in the ‘Nooga!
  21. I think the operative term would be “could” have gone to LC, and that is still the case. Kids/parents have a choice here in Fayetteville/Lincoln County and FHS as a smaller school offers that choice. The fact that we’ve been successful recently is due to the coaching and the support of the administration on all levels. That and the fact that the kids have bought into the system. There’s always been athletes in this county, it’s just that now (mostly) they choose FHS.
  22. Still not enough to take them over the top. Their offense needs to put points on the board to make it past the first round later on. Kudos to the safety for the pick six though. And their two point conversion/misdirection play to notch their only points for the night. Other than that, 3rd and long every possession.
  23. And yet we still got the win. To say we're not well coached is a remarkably ignorant statement. Putting #7 in the wildcat, and w/ CV coaches knowing we use him in short yardage situations and still not being able to move their pieces into place to stop him is not good coaching. Not being able to stop him on at least two scores (that got called back) is not good coaching and just not good football. To say we didn't get called on some penalties is ridiculous. What about the two times CV broke the huddle w/ 12 players? Not called. Free Pass for the Frog Bottom Boys? I guess that gets called only when it's not at CV. The personal foul hit out of bounds on the CV fans' sidelines. Late flag b/c the fans were yelling for it. The roughing the passer foul on City when the QB was going down and knees were on the ground? The pancake block that? Bottom line @BossDog you can believe what you want, and we the Tiger fan base will believe what we want. We were all there and we all agree the refs could have done better. When it's all said and done, we have bragging rights for a year and maybe both of us will be able to play the re-match this year. It wasn't pretty, and it wasn't a blowout, but our games usually aren't. On the positive side, you guys didn't resort to WWF moves.
  24. We would but keeping the CV cheerleaders off the field could be problematic.
  25. With a successful program, great coaches, facilities, and great kids, we don't have to go recruit. They come to us. Tell the general.
