Question, and if u are a BA fan, no disrespect intended, but how did BA loose to Ensworth last year with all that talent? I know Ensworth had Elder, but did they have any other senior sign with a major program? Is it coaching? Bad luck?

Question, and please don't get upset over this TC fans, but with the issues TC has had with the TSSAA not seperating public and private, why would TC agree to play this game? It would appear that TC would decide not to play privates unless they had to (district or playoff games), but since Friendship is now d2, why play? Not trying to stir trouble, just want to know.

Don't want to upset the CPA folks, but how long before Martin takes over at MBA? I can't see MBA continuing to take a distant back seat to Ensworth. I frankly thought Martin just inherited a good class from the old coach, but with what they did to Giles, I have to credit Martin. I don't know if CPA has the same $ as MBA. Thoughts?

Looks like the power in 3a this year is in the eastern part of the state. With this being said, right now I favor CPA to win it all as I see all the teams in the east beating each other up in quad 1 and 2 come playoff time. I don't see any stiff comp coming from quad 4, CPA should coast into the title game.

What is going on at Smith Cty this year? I don't recall them being this down in a long time. Didn't they have an outstanding RB coming back this year? What has happened to him? This game could get ugly.

I've been impressed with TC this year, 2 strong wins against good teams. Slim, can you give us the lowdown on the team this year vs. last? Who are the players exceeding expectations? What about the coaching, improved?

As I have said before, you better get Milan this year, they are young, but should be ready by playoff time. They don't loose 2 games in a row often, so this will be a big challenge for the Vikings. In a close game I will say Milan.

On paper, Clarksville should not have a problem in this game. I recall reading a Goodpasture post when Martin left and one Goodpasture supposed fan said the current senior class was no good and full of trouble and Goodpasture will be better off when they leave. Do all Goodpasture fans feel this way?

I believe both Milan and CPA are being under rated. I have to believe the winner of the game between the two will have to be rated in the top 5 of the state at least.

I know folks in Covington and they had a great team in early 70's. They had to go to Bristol to play the state championship against Tennessee High. They said they were basically beat before the game started.The stadium looked like a castle and it was packed. Even though they got beat bad, they said it was the best high school game atmosphere ever. Add this to the fact that the folks I know said this was the best team they had seen before or since to this day.

Who is the leader in the clubhouse at QB? I know you will miss the play of your QB last year, he appeared to be a good leader as well as player.

Just an opinion....we currently have 8 state champions in football in TN, 2 D2 titles and 6 public/private modifier divisions. Why not split it up this way: 1) have a 8 game season with no open dates, play whoever you want to schedule, public, private, home school team, whatever. 2) In week 9, playoffs start, ALL teams make the playoffs no matter the record. 3)Split the playoffs as follows: a) all privates, 3 divisions (there are enough to make this work) public open zone, 2 divisions (any public school offering ANY out of zone student for ANY reason goes in this division) and c) public non open zone, 3 divisions. You can reverse the public division number depending on number of schools offering open zone. Since everyone makes the playoffs, it won't matter who you play in the 8 game regular season, in fact, the harder the team, the better you will be prepared for the playoffs. By everyone making the playoffs, all teams will play a minimum of 9 games. To me, this is the most fair way of dividing this up.

Thanks for the info, I remember DCA winning several titles, but haven't heard much lately. I believe their coach has been there for a long time, but I don't know much about RT. Was this a player or a coach?

Does anyone know if this game will be televised? I won't be able to make it and want to know where it will be on air, other than radio.

Does DCA win the east this year in D2 A? I know Webb is a power, but not sure what DCA brings back. Who are some of the key players they have returning this fall?

You sound like you have a good knowledge of the football program. What kind of changes do you see if any as far as scheme? Offense and defense? Who are the top returning players? Do you feel that Goodpasture will have any say so on the 2a race? I will miss some of the Goodpasture and Milam battles over the last few years in 3a.

I have heard the current freshman/upcoming soph class is loaded with good players. Who are some of the names we should look for next season in this class?
