  1. Congrats to the coaches and players for having the guts to step up and play varsity in year one. That is commendable. SP and MC will be very tough opponents - hopefully those coaches will realize that this is a new program and call the dogs off early.
  2. If you know dates for the Cleveland and Bradley scrimmages, please post here. Thanks!
  3. I don't necessarily disagree with anything you stated, except i think that they will be substantially better than Soddy Daisy (which was the point of my message you replied to). Next year's group of Freshmen & Sophomores is very good. I don't think that makes them a favorite to win the district the next few years, but they will be more competitive than they have been the last 3-4 years.
  4. I wouldn't put Walker Valley in the same grouping with Soddy Daisy. WV has a very strong group of underclassmen and Coach Ryan has taught them how to win games. I don't think they will threaten for a championship this year, but they are approaching respectability. Unless I'm missing something, Soddy Daisy will be extremely weak again this year. With Rhea County out of the district, I just don't see Soddy having a district game where they will be competitive.
  5. Is Warbritton a senior this year? If so, where is he playing next year? What kind of offers did he get. I've heard he had a great year.
  6. Bradley won game 2 Wednesday by low score of 1-0.
  7. Maynard picks up the win and Sophomore Ty King pitches the last two innings to save it for the Bears. Lots of walks & errors. Looked like the first game of the season for both teams...

  9. From reading his posts these last few weeks, I'm pretty sure it's both.
  10. He is camping outside the Food Lion waiting for the 2013 Murphy Fair book to come out.
  11. Is the official criteria posted anywhere?
  12. Would be possible if Reuter could play for Bradley. I'm not so sure without her...
  13. As an unbiassed observed, the clock was definitely at 0.0 when she launched it, but it was sooo close, that I can see how humans could have missed it. It was a fantastic shot, but I hate that somebody's season ended that way.
  14. Are you in 3rd grade? They were in the playoffs last year.
  15. I thought the foul on the rebound was her 4th foul. I think the technical for slamming ball (her 2nd T of game), was counted as the fifth foul, so that is why she left the game. But I was sitting in the nosebleed, so I'm not sure on that.
  16. Bradley is not good? I'll admit they aren't as good as the Bradley teams in the Hare brothers era, but to win this Region a team has to be good. Owls got beat when it mattered, so what does that make them? Playing Siegel is irrelevant to this thread.
  17. Missed too many shots for what? Bradley won.
  18. She slammed the ball after the 4th foul was called. This is very uncharacteristic of her. I doubt if she has had a technical in 3 years of varsity action prior to tonight. The young Blackmon players have unlimited potential.
  19. What was the first technical for? I saw her slam ball after picking up 4th foul. The foul was questionable (from where I sat), but the tech really wasn't.
  20. Hypothetically, who wins a Bradley vs. Howard 3 game series? Don't these two Region Championship teams have to be considered the 2 best teams in the Chattanooga area? I guess you have to throw Baylor in there. Bradley split with them this year.
  21. I don't know much about teams west of Nashville, but I would agree in general with this list, and I definitely agree with Knox Grace at #1, although I'd throw Silverdale in there toward the bottom of the top 10. Only lost 3 seniors from last year.
  22. Wasn't there a mass exodus for Cleveland girls 3-4 years ago? I don't get it. Their current coach seems pretty good, but that is only observing from a distance.
