The issue is he was in the playoffs, he has been in 6A football in a competetive district. If was to be named HC at Stewarts Creek it would be a pretty good hire for a first year school. Except for Da'Haven who was ready for Mount Juliet, Did Dickson County or Brentwood fair so much better? He did what he had to do to get his team into the playoffs, that is what matters. I would take Dyson over Wilson Central or Lebanon's past coach.

Brown was a descent coach but come on Face there are a lot more problems than just blaming parents at Lebanon. Lebanon needs to look forward get a new coach get the talent out of the halls and onto the field. Principle and poor coaching takes the blame.

Mt. Juliet should win the District this year with Beech being close second. Gallatin, Station Camp and Lebanon will be fighting for the cellar. To many losses for Beech to over come to take over MJ next year.

Any news on the Lebanon coaching search? All these private schools are all about beating up on 1a and 2a teams but they are no where to be found when comes to big boy football. Atleast CAK plays Alcoa, FCS plays nobody of significance.

I'm suprised he hasn't gotten more looks. I don't believe he is major D-1 but I am shocked schools like Sun Belt / Conference USA type teams are not going after this kid. He is player but just not big enough.

I agree with you on that and I realize changes need to be made but I think once you get more schools to enter D-II it will start to get a little better. If in the next couple years changes aren't made I am all for a complete split.

That is not what happens right now, TSSAA atleast has some say so with what the private schools can do. If there is a complete split they would be able to do as they want and take all the players they want without any consequences, and no they do not get away with everything right now. Public school football is horrible in places like Pennsylvania and Other states up north that have this exact thing. Catholic leagues dominate by picking all the kids they want and leaving the rest. Hurts academics as well.

Your right there would be some really good teams. The problem is there would only be a few really good teams and a lot of really bad and mediocre teams. I think the problem needs to be fixed but MBA BA Ensworth can not dominate the football scene. Just not healthy for high school football in general.

Horrible call on 2 pt. Maryville should have been up by one but DaHaven might have actually kicked a fg in regulation to win it any way. Both teams played a great game. The refs were horrible to both teams, that was a disgrace

If Tennessee isn't careful they are going to end up with a system like Pennsylvania, where the private schools completely split from TSSAA and form their own gov. body. That would mean they could recruit and do as they will which would destroy public school football in the state. So be careful what you ask for.

When was the last time you guys won a state championship and as long as you are running the wing t you will not win another. Get rid of the Wing T. Can not win Championships running the Wing T. Blackman and Seigal have taken alot of talent from you guys as well as Oakland, and Seigal looks to be the team at the top for a couple more years.

Corn is a good back but he is no way in the same class as Hurd or Dodson. Hurd is just a man among boys out there. He had speed to get to the corner or power to run over them up the middle. Hope Hurd is keeping the VOLS in his thoughts, they could use a stud RB.

Wishing all the people traveling to the game are safe getting there and back home. I know the Bears will play their hardest and hope they are able to keep it close and hopefully pull an upset off. Seigal probable and well Maryville already proved they can beat them as well as out coach them.

No I picked MJ to win all those games, I believe Mount Juliet has a phenomenal team but I also do not have my head stuck in a hole. Whitehaven is an extremely talented team on both sides of the ball. To beat Whitehaven a team has to do what only Maryville can do in 6A football, OUT COACH them and sorry Perry isn't going to do that A.K.A. last year. I love my bears and I want them to do well but that does not mean getting on here spouting stupidity.

If Whitehaven gets off the bus they will win and who cares about the band. It's not Whitehaven's fault Coach Perry won't let the band play. I hope I am completely wrong and MJ ends up in Cookeville but anybody who saw DaHaven last year and has seen them this year knows they are even better. Your right different players for MJ same players for DaHaven which means same result.

Come on people lets get real. Mount Juliet is going to Memphis for an out right but whoopin. MJ had no answer in any phase of the game last year and DaHaven has returned pretty much the entire team. Not a good matchup at all for MJ, DaHaven should be laying 40 points in this one.

MJ played a great game tonight showing Brentwood had not played anybody, but I hate to say enjoy it now because DaHaven is going to do what they did last year to MJ but probably worse this time.
