1A/2A is a mixed bag. Seeing Mckenzie #10 in the state in 2A but Dresden #3 in 1A. Power rankings have Dresden winning this by 3 TD's. Hope the mighty Rebels pull off the upset though.

Same deal with DII ... Knoxville Webb loses to Maryville, Baylor, now plays CAK this week and suddenly starts the season 0-3/everyone writes them off?!?!?! Teams like Mitchell/Webb play the hard schedule out of district then dominate when its gametime. Sleeper for now .... BUT, I'll be at the 2nd/3rd round playoff matchup against Adamsville/Huntingdon. That'll be good football.

SC at home will win over MJ. If it was in MJ, closer than it should be. Stunned there hasn't been more of a QB controversy in the Bear camp. Haven't seen much from the legacy.

Webb has an insane schedule to start the season. All top programs in the state including the next 2: CAK/FCS. The FCS puts them back in their division to see who gets home field advantage in the playoffs. Considering what they did against Maryville/Baylor ... Home field might run through Knoxville again this year until we all get to Cookeville. Hats off to Webb for playing a powerful schedule.

Beech was overrated before the Hurd injury. Playoffs are in jeopardy. 6-4 is probably a good adjustment now.

That's laughable .... in HS football, its one squad against another. Too big of a margin to say it was because HURD was out. 39 pts to Station Camp when Hurd was in there says it all.

Running comes out of the West for the Golden Football. Passing wins from the East. Huntingdon will respresent well with big/physical football on the line. Congrats on a well deserved win.

Whoever comes out of the West better learn how to defend the pass. At 2A, can't get the 'ship without playing the pass. That was Adamsville downfall last year. Very good squad though.

Huntingdon moving up to 2A is a good thing to see. Strong program. Runner-up last year in the 1A state and always play bigger schools in West TN to get ready for the playoffs. If the 2A championship is won on the ground ... Adamsville & Huntingdon will represent West TN strong when the playoffs come around.

Agreed on the preseason rankings ... much like the AP for NCAA squads. Usually by the end of the year his rankings are spot on but in the middle of the season you'll see some squads that have better records/beat a team and are still ranked lower. This one will be a fun game to watch.
