  1. They won't do that. It'll put a lot of stress on basketball officials and another thing to look at. Remember, these are high schools officials and not college/NBA officials. It's very similar to "no such thing a uncatchable pass" in football." If TSSAA adds that element for football, then the officials are going to second guess themselves as to what is a catchable pass at the High School level. So, it's best to leave it out.
  2. Come on now, Cheatham County baseball is not good, Harpeth is an okay team, Sycamore is average, and Stewart County was not a good team last year. Now, Stewart County was basically undefeated when the Connor Lehman kid pitched, but he moved on to Alabama. Kid could bring it. Waverly isn't good, neither is Camden (though somehow, they made a postseason run last year). The district is easier. Which is what Huntingdon fans in @horseand @MustangNation007 saying. Milan is moving to a different region in which they're avoiding two other Gibson County teams and Westview and Union City. It doesn't make sense at all. For Milan to pass Carroll and Benton Counties to play a game at Waverly on a Monday/Tuesday night is crazy to me, when the drive to Trenton or Dyer is just 15 minutes away. It doesn't even make sense for the TSSAA to move Riverside away from the Scotts Hill and Adamsville district in baseball. That district is a great baseball district. I know @tradertwoagrees with me. If they were to move Riverside baseball, they should've put them in the Huntingdon/Camden district, and not Milan.
  3. I know it's a frustrating thing to see year after year. What MASE did was legal in my eyes, and very simple to explain. Congrats to your MASE team, Miller has done a great job again leading his team. I was shocked to see South Fulton giving MASE more fits than Union City.
  4. Then who’s going to replace Puckett? That’s going to be hard…
  5. I would like for Bradford students to go play at Greenfield if possible. I'm not sure how that'll be possible with Bradford being a Gibson County school and Greenfield is a Weakley County school (referring to insurance stuff). Could Bradford students head to Dyer and play football at Gibson County? Tide21 hit on the head, Bradford doesn't play baseball/softball at the school, they play down the street at the city park. Not sure where they could build a football facility. It would cost them arguably $2+ Million to start it, and that's the minimum.
  6. I can understand that. I'm just going based on resume. Union City beat the 2-4 seeds in that region by 25-28 points. The region is weak to me. No offense to the Tornadoes, but I know their fans have to be ready for 2A football next year (I would hope).
  7. I would put JCM over Union City at 10. JCM has the win over Milan and Riverside. Union City doesn't have an impressive win this year. I've been impressed with Chester County. Johnson has done a great job in Henderson. 3-7 last year with 0-5 in one possession games. They've done a great job of finishing games like they did at Lexington last week. There's a lot pressure at Jackson Christian to win it all this season. They are going to be the team to watch for me this month. TCA gave them all they can handle this past Friday. Not sure if they have the horses to do it, they have to beat Curtis and Nashville Christian to do so.
  8. So you're telling they're pulling a Trezevant here? A 2A team that actually should be a 3A team, today?
  9. The heck are you looking at a thread from mid-September? Good thing I said "right now." I know Huntingdon is a boring town but at least find a new hobby to do.
  10. This is odd. I think I remember Milan won an appeal a few years ago in volleyball to change districts. It was for volleyball only. To my knowledge, TSSAA set up a volleyball district where Peabody and Gibson County were in separate districts. GC was in the northwestern district (I don't know the numbers). Milan, who was supposed to be in the same district as Peabody (I believe Huntingdon and Madison were in it as well), now had to go past Trenton to play district games. Humboldt, wanted to move over to Region 6-1A in football (same region as McKenzie and West Carroll) but got denied. My understanding is that there are only two regions in Cross Country in West Tennessee. One region is for Shelby County schools only, and the other region is for all the remanding schools in West Tennessee. Brighton and Munford both wanted to move into the Shelby County region for Cross Country (guess it makes sense due to geographical reasons) but got denied as well. Not sure how Peabody found out Milan was doing this, kudos to them for doing the right thing in that, but also playing 2A in football.
  11. I have to admit, I jumped the gun on Peabody. My apologies.
  12. I think it has something to do with online, but I could be wrong.
  13. Because 2A is just tougher than 1A, that's just a fact. Peabody doesn't have to deal with Comer in the playoffs like the did in 2021 and lost. They don't have to deal with MASE (0-3 record in the last 3 years) because they're going up to 2A. They didn't have to deal with Pearl-Cohn (a 2A team playing up to 4A). No Huntingdon, no Milan, no JCM, no Riverside, no East Nashville. It's easier. If they were wanting to play in 2A because that's where "their titles are from", then they wouldn't contacted the TSSAA in the first place and say the number is "inaccurate." They would just leave it alone at 413 students. This is not Peabody's first rodeo when it comes to this, they know what they're doing. Somebody at Peabody gave TSSAA 413 students. They not dropping from 2A to 1A in football, they're also dropping from 2A to 1A in the olympic sports as well.
  14. So you don't know who the future QB is for the Peabody Golden Tide? Buddy, it's all narratives. Peabody hands aren't clean, and they're going to get any and every advantage they can get to play in 1A. We've seen teams in West Tennessee go up a classification and struggle, so they're doing everything it takes to go back to their previous class.
  15. I'm confident that if Huntingdon had the enrollment that fits a 1A school, they're going to be playing 1A football. They're not moving up.
  16. I'm not sure how exactly it works when it comes to out of state teams. I was trying to do a "playoff picture" report and post it on this thread for the people to see. I'm also not exactly sure how the 3-way tiebreakers pan out. My guess is whoever has the highest amount of regular season wins, will be in, and then the head-to-head competition will put the 2nd team in over the 3rd team. When you look at the potential 3 way tie in Region 7-1A between Dresden, Lake County, and South Fulton, the Red Devils have 6 wins, but Lake County played Dyersburg and JCS, while Dresden played Westview and McKenzie. No offense to South Fulton, but they didn't play any of the teams close to what Dresden and LC played, and they could get rewarded for it.
  17. Could we have a potential 4 way tie for the 3/4 seeds in Region 7-1A? Could we have a 3 way tie for the final playoff spot in Region 7-1A? Could Dresden be penalized for playing Westview and McKenzie in the non-region part of the regular season while South Fulton played Ballard Memorial, a 4-4 team according to Maxpreps and Fulton County, a 1-5 team according to MaxPreps with a loss to Gleason. South Fulton also played Tipton-Rosemark, which lost by 50 points to JCS, and could lose by 20+ to Trinity this week. JCS/TCA's region is awful outside of those two teams. TSSAA needs to look at how they're going to do playoff seeding via tiebreakers because Dresden could be out based on having just 3 wins. If that's the case, then there's no incentive for Dresden playing Westview.
  18. While we may not have any HC memorabilia or care about Henry County football, I think the HC fans were somewhat expecting a down year in Paris. Just kind of reading all their posts before the season started. Wasn’t much hype heading into the season.
