I got cha! Just picking on Peabody posters.
-
I definitely agreed. I need to considered that Milan/Peabody Freshmen game that occurred 3 years ago as one of the reasons why I’ll pick Milan to win next Thursday. And since South Gibson defeated Peabody in a Freshmen game last year, I might just roll with the Hornets tonight in their jamboree against Peabody.
-
Can’t be true, can it? On a Thursday night, I’m sure there were some officials that were able to officiate that game. Did Waverly informed them about a game tonight? If so, I can’t imagine the head guy (or whatever they call it) for y’all association, not informed Waverly about lack of officials. I would imagine Waverly would be informed about it hours beforehand, and not minutes. That’s how I see it.

Millington gave Dyersburg all they had during the first round of playoffs. Still lost the game by 15-20 I believe. However, Millington had about 20 freshman on that team, and the majority of them played that game. If they took advantage of the off-season and got in the weight room, I do expect them to have a good season.

I thought Hardin County does have a jamboree. Could be wrong, but I’m hearing they have Scotts Hill coming to town.
-
Let it go, kiddo.
-
This is the new format for the Jamboree in Dyersburg. 6:00 PM start. Admission: $8 Dyer County vs USJ Crockett County vs Covington Obion Central vs Munford Dyersburg vs Gibson County. I’m taking that Gibson County is going to replace South Fulton.

UC Welcomes LC to Tornado Alley Game 1

Curious Question: I don't want this turn into a political debate or anything. But, are High School coaches encouraging their players to get vaccinated to avoid what happened last year? I thought about this earlier so I was wondering. I noticed college football coaches are encouraging their players to get vaccinated. It's unfortunate for LC, but it's also unfortunate for Bolivar because I'm sure the Tigers need a scrimmage under their belt for a first year head coach. -
Peabody has the toughest schedule of 1A/2A. I'm sure there is a tougher schedule that's out there.
-
And I'm definitely not buying this.

I don't understand this post. I'm not a USJ poster, but of the three private schools in Jackson, USJ is the team that is willing to play public schools on a consistent basis. Trinity will play public schools occasionally, but they like their friends in Medina and Adamsville too much. However, the 7 on 7 against Haywood didn't go so well for Trenton, they didn't really stand out to me in the 7 on 7 at USJ (the one where Ripley won), and USJ had their night last night. So there's a trend that is starting. And Milan is coming in like 11 days. It's going to be a hungry Milan team, too. I've stated in the past that scrimmages and developmental games don't carry much weight in my eyes. Again, Peabody is going to be fine in the long run, just not playing good football right now.

Relax. I didn’t say Peabody has no shot at making it to Chatt. We’re 4 months away from the state championship game, no need to freaking out. I don’t think Peabody is playing up to their expectations. That’s all. What I’m trying to say is, that team has flaws right now. Peabody is going to be fine. They’re going to be okay! To me, I don’t think they’re as heavy as a favorite as what other people believe them to be. That’s all.
-
I thought USJ played well. I think Peabody will be fine but I don’t believe they will be considered as a “threat” to win 1A at this moment as others people believe. I do believe the door is open for more teams in consideration from the West. The players still have to play the game. Even though the Bruins lost Erit Turner, I thought their D-Line was pretty solid. Both of these teams played in Cookeville last year, but as of now, USJ has a better chance of going to Chatt than Peabody. USJ has three weeks to prepare for their season opener against Union City, a lot of time for adjustments for them, before they kick off their season.

And Huntingdon is known for that. Which is smart because if the offensive player does block below the waist and takes the defender down, then the defense loses a player basically (he's on the ground). Can't do that anymore
-
Correct.
-
I guess I’ll be the Debby downer, I think Huntingdon will go 6-4, but there’s a better chance they’ll go 5-5. It’s an outside chance of them going 7-3
-
It’s going to be interesting to see how this new rule is going to effect Huntingdon on offense.

I agree, Milan hasn't played a game in 4A and they're in a #2. Either way, Elizabethton, Greeneville, and Anderson County should be in the top 3. Haywood, Milan, and Tullahoma should round out 4-6 (No particular order). However, I've noticed this with media writers. With Ridgeway and Kirby not playing football last year, they had to put Fayette Ware in there to even out the bias. Even though Fayette Ware's Quarterback is going to Middle Tennessee, the Wildcats are arguably 10 point dogs to at least 6 teams 4-A teams in this year.
-
Im assuming. I’m hearing Shelby County schools are going back to wearing masks, regardless of vaccination. Seems odd to me
-
I don't know why I think about this, but did Milan get new lights?

Back to topic, I mentioned in the Region 7-4A thread that we're going to find out how good Region 8-4A is really early. Honestly, we're going to find out how good Crockett County and Lexington is as well. The Cavaliers were able had Covid last year and didn't play Haywood. The Cavaliers did not play good football when they returned to action last year. Lexington appeared to lose some pieces off of last years team. Hardin County fans are going to look into Lexington game against Haywood for measuring purposes to see how they're going to stack up with the Tigers. North Side and South Gibson are going to look into that Haywood/Crockett game for one reason. If the Indians defeat South Gibson, then basically South Gibson/Crockett in week 11 is an elimination game. I know a lot of people is slotting South Gibson into the top-3 and putting Crockett County/North Side into 4/5. I'm not necessarily believing that will be the case. I don't know what offense Obion Central will run this season, but North Side is going to play 5 teams that has a Wing-T type offense. The Indians are flying under the radar this district because I don't think anybody knows what to expect out of them. They didn't lose a lot of players, but they did lose at least two coaches in Ryan Scott (JCM) and Teddy Pettigrew (Humboldt).
