IMO Dresden, MASE, Moore County and Union City are all real close to each other as far as the best teams in the West bracket. I think that anyone of those teams will represent the west cand have a legitimate shot of knocking off So. Pitt in Chattanooga. McKenzie and Lake County would be the next two in the west. IMO anyone of the 6 teams mentioned above would play So. Pitt in the semifinals in the east if they were in the east bracket. Before anyone gets upset remember it's just my opinion. I believe the west is overall stronger than the east in 1A football.

If this was a true poll both Lake County,and Gordonsville would be ranked somewhere between 7xand 10. I know LC would have a better record if they played some of the schools that are ranked schedule. Gordonsville is probably the 2nd best 1A school in the West. LC is probably behind Dresden, Union City and MASE in the west.

Mullins is having an amazing season. He is putting up numbers that Jewel Flowers and Stavoski Wilkes put up. However Mullins probably will not be a finalist for Mr. Football because Lake County is not having the season that they normally do record wise. The kid from Moore County will probably win Mr. Football. The kid from Dresden will probably represent our area. To answer the question West Carroll has defeated LC before. LC has won the majority of the matchups. LC will not be down long like someone on here thinks. Every small school goes through down cycle. LC down cycle will not be as long as alot of 1A schools. If LC played the schedule that most 1A schools in the area play they would be 5 and 2 or better but they don't. So the record is what it is. The kid from West Carroll is also having a great year.

LC one man band might not beat many schools but I do believe LC has scored 13 tds to WCs 4 in spring and summer scrimmage. I know West Carroll is having a great year but don't forget WC would be fighting it out for 4th place if they had of stayed in the region with LC.

Don't be surprised if Fairley got a Colorado like portal class. TSSAA has a blind eye when it comes to Memphis.

Lake County wins 62 to 14. Mullins 317 yards on 17 attempts. 6 tds and 5 2 point conversion. He played the first half and 1 series in the 3rd quarter.

All of you are sleeping on Union City. They maybe the best 1A team in the west.

Calvin Mullins rushed for a,school record of 416 yards tonight against Halls. He scored 5 tds and converted 4 2 pt conversions. He rushed for 323 with 6 tds and 5 2pt conversions last week. He had 265 rushing vs Dresden. He also rushed for 168cagainst Dyersburg and 165 I believe against Obion Central. The kid is a tremendous back. He has rushed for quality yards vs 3 really good teams and put really big numbers the last 2 weeks. He is a workhorse also toting the football 43 times tonight, 41 times last week and 38 times vs Dresden. He has rushed for 1,337 yards in five games and scored 17 tds and over a dozen 2 pt conversions. The kid is having a very special season. If the Falcons were 5 and 0 or 4 and 1 he would be mentioned in 1A Mr. Football conversation. He has to be among the state leaders in the rushing and scoring departments.

Imo Union City will win the region and it will not particularly close. Also believe Obion Central and Dresden will be a toss up game. IfcLC beats Gleason then the Falcons will finish 3rd. The So. Fulton and Gleason game will have major playoff implications. Greenfield could be a team that could upset LC, SF and Gleason but I don't think it will happen. Greenfield has improved under Coach Pitt.

Lake County better not overlook anyone in the region. LC cannot afford to lose any games they are supposed to win. JCS and UC will be a tall order for sure. Just win the games they are supposed then they will finish 3rd and avoid MASE in the first round of playoffs

No it was not going to be a mercy rule. The game was closer than thr score indicated. Dresden won the game. If you remember Hodge punched A TD in with a minute to go to get to that margin. He could have run the clock out but he chose to score. Got to look for those AP voters I guess. Lol. I still say that Union City is way above anyone in our region. Right now today I would say that UC or MASE are the two best teams in 1A West Tennessee.

The only comment I will say about the game is it should have been 14 to 13 at half. There was no time on clock. The half was over. The white hat gave Dresden 1 second and they scored. That one play changed the momentum on the game. I am not saying LC would have won the game at all but that really changed the momentum.

I would also like to know about the slippery slope laws in Lake County.

I don't whine about yours. I am glad that we can have an debate on here. You usually provide some good content. Not all LC fans are the same just like I'm sure not all West Carroll fans are the same.

You apparently do not have a clue about Lake County football scheduling. LC has reached out to several schools in Kentucky and Missouri. LC would much rather play schools their size. Not many schools LC size will schedule. I know for a fact LC reached out to West Carroll to play for the next two years and was told no. The previous 2 years LC tried to play So. Fulton and Gleason and was told no. How much money do you think LC playing Haywood the last 2 years? The answer not very much. LC does not make a lot of money playing bigger schools. Actually make more playing other 1A schools because for some reason small town football draws more. You keep saying that LC is in decline. LC might go through a couple down years. Who knows. LC has alot of talent in the younger grades and if they are down it will not be for long. LC will be solid this season.

Another thing about the Lake County schedule. LC would not have to play Haywood County,Crockett County,Ripley and Dyersburg if the schoola the size of LC would play. Here's looking at you West Carroll,South Fulton,Bruceton, Gleason. Those schools will only play when in the region with the falcons.. I know they all where contacted and they all said no. I wonder why?

If the back up was better he would be the starter. I have ask that same question to the people who matter and that's the answer I get. They would know they see both everyday. I for one can careless what your opinion on LC is. Everyone knew LC was going to beat Huntingdon in 19 and win the whole thing. Anybody with any since knew MASE was going to be very tough last year and they will again this year. I get it you don't particularly like LC and that fine just say it. I am glad that LC gets to play in big games most every year. What I mean meaningful games. I guess West Carroll vs Bruceton for 4th place might be a big game.

LC didn't attempt to throw the ball that often in the scrimmage. Cesar has throw the ball extremely well in some games in the past. He is good for LC does in their offense. He doesn't have to be the best QB in the region. Just do his job for LC.

Canada managed his team well last year and will again this year. Puckett is his mentor but Canada is very capable of doing the job. It is nice that Coach Canada can rely on Coach Puckett.

He is a good player but I do not recall Gleason nor West Carroll stopping the LC offense all day. It was a good scrimmage and all 3 teams should improve. IMO I think the move to region 6 came at the right time for West Carroll. I don't think they would be a playoff team in region 7 this year but will in region 6. LC will be just fine for the upcoming season. LC has a very difficult schedule but should be battle tested come playoff time. Staying injury free will be key for the falcons.

Gleason scored 1 time against LC. LC scored on every possession in the 3 way scrimmage but 1. From what I seen yesterday McKenzie will win region 6 with ease unless McEwen can play with them. Nobody else in region 6 will challenge them.

LC will finish no worse than 3. LC returns 7 or 8 on offense and the same on defense.
