  1. Isn't there always some type of fishy call when teams go play at Gallatin? Ive played there several times in the past and there is always so type of shenanigans going on up there.
  2. 1.) McGavock- Great Admin, Coaches, Facilities, Zoning allows for steady flow of athletes. 2.) Hillsboro- Great Admin, Coaching staff, facilities can use an upgrade, Rich in tradition and Location to keep athletes wanting to come there. 3.) Overton- New admin?, Great coaching staff, facilities are average, Alumni keep traditions going, Good community and zoning 4.) Stratford- Admin turning things around, Coaching staff who can get kids to come there, upgraded facilities and building. If Buster could place his hand on the field it would look amazing again like it did when i played. 5.) Pearl Cohn- Great admin, Coaches are players coaches, know for having solid teams, Has a history of winning. 6.) Cane Ridge- Admin is suspect, newer school, facilities are slowly declining, not familiar with current staff, team off to a good start so far. 7.) Antioch- Admin is making changes not sure its for the better, nice set up in facilities, not familiar with current staff, used to have descent program, Alumni keep the rivialry with Overton going, Cane Ridge has hurt the number of athletes coming in the building 8.) East- Great Admin, facilities need a major upgrade (no stadium at school), Great coaches, have the capability of getting athletes, Has older alumni still in tacked. 9.) Maplewood- Good Admin, Coaching staff, Stadium needs upgrade, off and on with good seasons, zoning doesn't help, Keeps a competitive schedule year in and year out. 10.) Hunters Lane- Admin is suspect, current coach won in the past, Facilities are average but nice set up, to many coaching changes in the past, Great Band, athletes stay away from hunters lane. 11.) Glencliff- Admin is ok, facilities need upgrade, staff struggles, zoning makes this job difficult do to lack of athletes 12.) Whites Creek- Good Admin, facilities are old, new coach, zoning has changed WC, WC will always struggle due to open zone
  3. Bucs will have to control the clock and capitalize on Cain Ridge's mistakes and penalties.
  4. Either way we are not in a position to make that call. Good luck to everyone this Friday
  5. Maryville has great community support Win or Lose. Those kids don't want to be the ones who don't win. Most players from other programs are the ones still trying to get there. I have not been served by anyone. lol and never will. There is enough bad in this world to try to "Serve" people. Great Coaches can put their kids in situations to win but when the lights come on the players must still produce. Players should be encouraged not dogged on websites and forums like this.
  6. Last time I checked its not the X's and O's that win high school football games. It's the Jimmys and Joes!
  7. Looks to me as if the community and fans don't believe in their own players and coaches who i am sure put a lot of time and effort into what they do. I think we all forget that this is high school football and calling players and coaches out on some things that aren't necessarily their fault is just ridiculous. it takes 11 on the field each play and it takes the strength of a community to be successful on and off the field. So quickly do we forget about the dedication of the players, coaches, and their families who make sacrifices for the different programs. Always believe in your kids and coaches. any doubt from will always result in a bad program. Im sure MJ will get out of a rut and come prepared for each opponent they play. Encouragement goes a lot farther than negativity at any school. I respect any coach or player who puts in the time and commitment it takes to play the wonderful game of football.
  8. How will gallatin match up to the rest of its opponents?
  9. Hville will be good this year. they are solid on both sides of the football. was at the game friday and it was an exciting night. They have a great community surrounding them.
  10. Ravenwood will be rebuilding this year. They will struggle but will still be well coached. With Nolensville opening soon a lot is about to change in Williamson Co.
  11. i Now you're bring up the question what if a kid plays both ways.
  12. I go to the official rules meeting about it soon. I'm very intrested in what the fine print says.
  13. I don't think y'all realize how long most coaches actually go full contact. It's not that long. The average play is 10 secs or less. So 6 plays a minute. Being in the huddle and or coaching in between plays is not full contact. Take 6 plays a minute and multiply it by 30 minutes. No team in America practices with 180 full contact snaps a week. On the other hand where I am most coaches go light on Sunday , heavy but short on Monday due to JV, Heavy on Tuesday, Team thud on Wed and helmets only scripted on Thursday. That being said if someone can get 180 plays in a week I wanna come watch your practice cause you have to be one heck of a Genius. This rule will affect summer practice installs and 2 a days
  14. Simply stating that this rule will not change most practices during the season. Key statement DURING SEASON.
  15. Simply stating that this rule will not change most practices during the season. Key statement DURING SEASON.
  16. Teams will practice as usual and you can take that to the bank. Nothing will change with practices during the season.
  17. No they don't and if they do it will be a slap of the wrist thing
  18. There is no way to monitor this. Schools will continue to have normal practices during the season. Also most schools don't go but full contact twice a week anyways due to freshman and JV games plus most teams do a sripted team day which is thud. It's all a bunch if mumbo jumbo and the TSSAA has no way to control or know how long a practice goes or what happens in a practice.
  19. Ok. Well he had quite a few boys to work with this past year from what i hear. Is it pretty much a given he will take over after Clayton?
  20. Gentlemen!!!!! Congratulations, the good ole' boy system is back in Metro. Hall is friends with Kroger's brother and Woods (who also applied at Antioch) played for Reese at Tennessee State. Metro is apparently changing period. Both programs will suffer terribly. There is more to football in Metro than just coaching...... You got to be able to do it all! We have it made in the private schools. We get your best kids. We don't worry about fundraising, facilities, or field maintenance. Its all taken care of by our boosters and outside companys. As far as the whole Black American Male to the White American Male Coach............. You are all being ridiculous. Woodward left with a winning record and Peden was the OC (The farmers just got tired). CR's HC left with a winning record and apparently got pushed out by administration for a bigger plan yet to be seen. The only thing those kids and the coaches need to relate to is hard work and a winning work etthic, color or background has nothing to do with it. All the good coaches that are left in Metro will stay put at their schools ( East, Overton, Hillsboro) or move out of county to coach. Bottom line............. Neither team will see a State Championship within the next 10-20 years. Inside why do you care? Started in Metro and after 10 yrs found out how corrupt it truly is. I got tired of doing things the right way alone and went to where all players, parents, and coaches understand the importance of football within the school and each young man that plays the game. You wanna see a program done right. Go see a Blue Tornado play on Friday Night. Honor, Truth, and Duty!
  21. Lavergne will do very well now that they are 5A. Stevens is a great coach but you are all forgetting it's not the X's and O's but the Jimmy's and Joe's. Kids in RC flock farther down I-24 to get away from Lavergne and Antioch.
