  1. I'm not sure how the rest of McGavock will do but Kendall Johnson is as fast as anyone White Station has seen. Im sure the kid from White Station is fast and good from what I read, it would just be fun to watch him and Kendall match up since we're not playing either one.
  2. First of all I am pulling for MJ for a couple of reasons. The biggest being if we happen to win at Frankiln I don't want to drive 3 hours again to set out in the cold at a football game. Second I have an employee who plays for MJ and I pull for all the kids I personally know. That being said, how is MJ going to handle the athletic abilities of Whitehaven being that had such issues with Cane Ridge, McGavock and even Franklin? I know they played Ravenwood close but Ravenwood is not as fast or as athletic as any of those teams. What can they do different to stop Whitehaven that they didn't do against McGavock? Someone give me some hope here? All the stats say MJ has no chance, but they have to play the game.
  3. I'm not brave enough to say WC will win this but they are not the same team that played Franklin a month ago. I hope Franklin remembers how easy it was to run up the middle on us and game plans to do it again.
  4. Bottom line I get to watch my son play again this Friday. All the whining and calling WC a bad team doesn't matter. Oh as much as you hate it, Siegal, Riverdale, MJ, Overton, McGavock, and WC gets to play Friday night. I think maybe since 5A is so weak they should narrow their playoffs to district winners only. Oh that right It doesn't matter what you think, my son got a playoff win for WC their first in 6 years and no one can take it away.
  5. Don't forget Overton beat a 9-1 Marshall County. Ravenwood and Wilson Central beat bad a Siegal team that is still in the playoffs. Ravenwood beat Riverdale still in playoffs. At one time Arlington was rated top 10 in the state Overton just beat them. Cordova lost 3 games Whitehaven, White Staion, and sixth seed Wilson Central. I think this whining about everyone making the playoffs and region 3 haters are just jealous because they only have next year to look forward to. Our kids are playing this Friday night.
  6. What's the purpose in taking cheap shots at WC beating Cordova? You wasn't there. I was there with the rest of out 75 fans who made the trip? Keep saying WC is bad, we just beat a team that only lost to Whitehaven and White Station. Evidently they were better than 5 other teams in that region. After we beat Franklin and MJ pulls the upset it will be an all Wilson County third round.
  7. How about MJ and WC both pull off upsets and meet one more time?
  8. Yeah I could see that not being a very good idea. Like I said, they really didn't expect what they got from WC and maybe that's because your guys to all the fight out of them last week.
  9. WC had two different teams this year. The good team played until halftime of the McGavock game and the bad team played every game after. Last night that first team showed up again. Cordova tried to pass because they could not run enough on WC to get yards. They were ahead 9-0 before WC returned a kick for a TD followed. Cordova looked shocked that WC had enough speed to out run them. Once Bowes broke his 80 yard run right up the middle and they couldn't catch him you could see the panic in Cordova and the confidence in WC. I disagree about them being cocky and disrespectful, they did not expect what they found, but their kids were respectful on the field.
  10. I don't care either way because this is the last year it matters to me. It's funny though because they say the very same thing about our playoff system. I believe in football everyone shouldn't make the playoffs because the good vs bad gap is so large.
  11. It's not this complicated. Every one in every class in Indiana makes the playoffs. They have a blind draw for,the first round but since everyone starts the playoffs in their own area very few teams have simular records when the draw occurs.
  12. Why is there so much talk about Wilson County coaches job status? I don't see anything about other schools coaches losing their jobs. Brentwood, Gallatin, Station Camp, Antioch, Warren County, I hate to include Siegal with all the other things that has happened to them this year. Lavergne was supposed to compete with Indy and they are struggling to make the playoffs. There are a lot of other schools besides Wilson County schools struggling. Maybe it's because if you insult our coaches schools and players, it makes for a good argument? To all those schools I mentioned I am not insulting your coaches or schools, I just wanted to point out that other teams under achieved this year, not just Wilson County teams.
  13. What happens when they build the new high school in MJ and split both schools?
  14. They left the wing t after the Franklin debacle.Yes coach Aric is the offensive line coach. I know he was a HC here a few years ago but that's all I know.
  15. Like I've said many times this is my kids school not mine. I personally don't like either one but they were better than metro schools that's why we moved out here. He would've been at DCA after his freshman year if I could've talked him into it because I sure tried. i really won't care who wins that game next year.
  16. I wouldn't have any idea. My son is a senior and will be playing on Saturdays next year in spite of how this year went. I like coach Dedman and I'm happy that my son played for him. Since I played and coached basketball I could never give a qualified opinion on any football coaches ability or status.
  17. Continue to settle into the new offense that we changed to after the Franklin game. After 8 weeks we went to a pro style offense and away from the wing t. It worked somewhat against Ravenwood but with only a couple weeks to practice it we kept stalling out after a couple first downs. That also has a lot to do with Ravenwood. We have to play solid run defense up the middle which has been hard for us this year. So far we have been unable to consistently stop the inside run. When #45 and #23 are able to play defense it really strengthens it. Problem is, to much defense gets them tired on offense. May come down to if they care or not. Sometimes it looks like a lot of the younger kids are just going through the motion just to get to next year. It's hard to win with 7 seniors seeing playing time.
  18. ^^^ Low life Wilson Central hater. He has no clue what he is talking about when it comes to football I believe he is just a mjbears version of chickhot from SC. If there was no one on the board he would make another name to have somone to argue with.
  19. My son grew up playing with most of the good players for McGavock. Johnson is as fast as anyone you'll see this year but he is primarily a straight line runner, he does not change speed or do much dancing. Carlton runs side line to side line if you string him out he will just run out of bounds or throw the ball. Johnson ran 150 yards straight down our throats when WC played them. He is not huge but he has no fear of contact, when he was younger he would slow down just so he could hit someone. If he gets free MJ has no one fast enough to catch him. #56 on defense is huge and quick. All that being said MJ defense is strongest in the middle so I think MJ by less than 7.
  20. We at WC don't have much of a chance either way but who would we prefer to play? Who has the better running back?
  21. Why is no one talking about CPA? Is Blackwell and that point guard, (I forget his name), not there anymore? They may not play AAA but those two players are more than most teams outside of Memphis can handle.
  22. Because I am biased toward Vic Johnson, he is definatly top 3. He played with my son from 7th to his 10th grade. We all knew if he ever was healthy a complete year he would have great numbers. As much as I hate to admit it the best thing he did was went to Cookeville, at Wilson Central he would've had to share his carries with Gabe and another couple very good backs. He still would've been as good as he is but 25 carries a game would've never happened. When he is on the field he is not only one of the fastest he is one of the strongest. Another player who will never be considered but has numbers that probably very few others in TN has. He has a touchdown pass, caught a few TD passes, and has rushed for several TD's He also has an interception return for a TD while playing several different positions on defense. All this at a 6A school. He will finish this year with several hundred yards rushing including 150 yards at Siegal he has a 9 yards per carry avg right now. The pass and INT happened last year but I just wanted to include them. My vote is for my son, Jordan Wilson from Wilson Central.
  23. As long as it's not insulting to women and not promoting violence towards police. Also as long as you don't have to worry about the language that a child shouldn't hear it shouldn't matter to the fans. I was at a peewee football game a few weeks ago and seen little bitty cheerleaders doing a dance to a country song talking about getting drunk enough to go home with someone else. How can our older generation put down a type of music while promoting music that is just as bad? I personally do not like rap but I can ignore it as long as I'm not insulted by the lyrics.
