  1. Are they going to open it back up for applications/interviews?
  2. Leaked info? I am usually very keen on coaching movement in TN and I have not heard a single name mentioned for this job. As of 8:49 am on April 1, 2021, I still have no clue.
  3. I believe Daniel and Malone worked under Rankin as well back in the 90s.
  4. I could be wrong, but isn't he a coach that was on Hall's staff then quit before the season started and left Hall hanging with little or no help? Not exactly sure of details. May just have been a philosophical difference? Name seems familiar.
  5. I haven't even heard of any applicant names.
  6. Northwest came open with the resignation of Furnish.
  7. I haven't seen this job as being open.....yet.
  8. Serious? LaVergne, Antioch & Dickson as top 3? I can sense the sarcasm?
  9. Looking at the make-up of this region, Speed will not be an issue, except maybe Dickson. These teams are fast. Smyrna is physical and big up front. Cane Ridge is talented and well coached. Antioch, Dickson County & McGavock are way down right now. Overton was usually solid in the past so I am not sure what has happened to them the last few years. Hopefully we can get back to somewhat normal for '21 season and Metro can have a full schedule. My picks right now would be as follows: Cane Ridge, Smyrna, LaVergne with the others scrapping and trying to win 2 region games to sneak into the playoffs to face either Beech or Hendersonville in the 1st round.
  10. Comparing TSSAA regions to what Kreager posted in 6A is way off base. Goes to show, you never know what to expect from TSSAA and the rest of us know nothing and can only speculate. Looking at it, I would think, Cookeville, Dickson County, Coffee County and Warren County are all getting together and having a bonfire party.
  11. I must chime in. How do you know Fairview did not make in games adjustments? As a former coach, I made a ton of in game adjustments that sometimes the kids just cannot make for whatever reason. Most of the time, when you make changes in game, it bites you in the tail because it looks good on the white board, but the kids may not be able to do it. It can be as simple as a blocking technique. If I had to bet, I am sure the FHS staff made "changes" at some point to create a spark. It may have not worked. Off my rant chair now. Good luck to all teams in the playoffs and to the teams who may play an "extra" game this week on a Thursday night.
  12. Coach Rankin's best coaching jobs were probably his years at Warren County and Smith County. Coach Rankin has a unique ability to see thru the cracks at what programs can be successful before diving in and also be able to know when to leave. No one can deny his ability to get the most out of the kids he has on his roster. Because of that, parents want their kids playing for him and are willing to make sacrifices to see that happen. I keep waiting for him to "retire" from public education and take on a private job or out of state job, but why do that when you have the best gig in the state?
  13. Someone with a subscription to The Tennessean post Kreager's updated projections. I am too cheap to get a Tennessean Subscription.
  14. Oak Ridge has an enrollment of 1496 and is 5A. Northeast has an enrollment less at 1494 but is 6A? Has Northeast already said they are playing up to be with Rossview, West Creek and Clarksville?
  15. I don’t have a dog in the fight, but move Dickson to Region 6 and you are on to something with your prediction. I believe Dickson is closer to the Clarksville area than the Franklin/Brentwood area. I will never understand the reasoning to split Rutherford County, but TSSAA has done it before so I can see it happening.
  16. Some systems have not even started yet or just got started. TSSAA does not have all the numbers yet. It will be interesting to see how TSSAA handles schools that turn in an enrollment of 1399 and then when school starts back in '21 full speed and their enrollment is back to 1600 because the homeschool kids are back in. There is a difference between homeschool and virtual. Schools must count virtual kids, but not the kids who declare homeschool because parents don't want to deal with vaccines and curriculum or have internet issues. Lot's of scenarios in play.
  17. Your video is from Jerry Joslin era v BGA
  18. Creek Wood looked good. Was up 28-0 in the 4th. Score is in no way any indication of how the game went. They have a slotback I don't remember playing in the past. very fast. Dickson seemed unable to handle the Creek Wood pressure. Both teams have good looking kids.
  19. From what I have gathered, The Palmer situation is strictly personal, but Shelbyville was not willing to deal with it. Happens a lot. As far as Whitwell is concerned, Palmer is very much in play.
  20. 11 coaches for a 45 man roster is impressive. Lot's of one on one attention.
