With that being said......I'm sure TSSAA granted him instant eligibility. Had it been a sincere reason to transfer, it would have been rebuffed by TSSAA. I could be way off base, but it sounds like Riverdale is adhering to their policies and the said player is running from issues. By all means, let's grant him eligibility. I hope this not the case and it is a legitimate move to another school district and new home address. I hope.

This region started the ‘21 campaign 1-6 with Smyrna winning the only game. This region is wide open for the taking. In the end, I feel that Cane Ridge, Smyrna, LaVergne and Dickson get in. Only 2 region wins will get you in the playoffs.

I was at the Page scrimmage vs Dickson. Page moved the ball at will, even without their starting Quarterback. Dickson struggled to move the ball on Page defense, although they looked solid in the 2nd half of the scrimmage (backups?). It looked like a typical first scrimmage to me, but Page looked solid. Dickson has some good looking players.

McPhail will not take job. He will finish his time at HL (retire) and then get on Cumberland full time. I know Metro recycles like crazy, but I'm sure a few more qualified candidates will pop up and get interviews. Moreno-No chance Others listed-have a chance of an interview

Like I said.........what is that. SMH Just one man's opinion, but going from the lowest level of TN high school football (TSSAA) to an even lower level of football is probably not good for his chances to advance to next level. But, I will not blame a parent for making a decision for their child if they feel it is best dynamic for them. I just don't see the benefit.

I saw in "Clarksville Now", via front page of CoachT, that they are having a player leave to go to the Tennessee Heat. Really? What is that? SMH

Leaked info? I am usually very keen on coaching movement in TN and I have not heard a single name mentioned for this job. As of 8:49 am on April 1, 2021, I still have no clue.

I believe Daniel and Malone worked under Rankin as well back in the 90s.

I could be wrong, but isn't he a coach that was on Hall's staff then quit before the season started and left Hall hanging with little or no help? Not exactly sure of details. May just have been a philosophical difference? Name seems familiar.

Looking at the make-up of this region, Speed will not be an issue, except maybe Dickson. These teams are fast. Smyrna is physical and big up front. Cane Ridge is talented and well coached. Antioch, Dickson County & McGavock are way down right now. Overton was usually solid in the past so I am not sure what has happened to them the last few years. Hopefully we can get back to somewhat normal for '21 season and Metro can have a full schedule. My picks right now would be as follows: Cane Ridge, Smyrna, LaVergne with the others scrapping and trying to win 2 region games to sneak into the playoffs to face either Beech or Hendersonville in the 1st round.

I believe he prepped at nearby Macon County.

Comparing TSSAA regions to what Kreager posted in 6A is way off base. Goes to show, you never know what to expect from TSSAA and the rest of us know nothing and can only speculate. Looking at it, I would think, Cookeville, Dickson County, Coffee County and Warren County are all getting together and having a bonfire party.

I must chime in. How do you know Fairview did not make in games adjustments? As a former coach, I made a ton of in game adjustments that sometimes the kids just cannot make for whatever reason. Most of the time, when you make changes in game, it bites you in the tail because it looks good on the white board, but the kids may not be able to do it. It can be as simple as a blocking technique. If I had to bet, I am sure the FHS staff made "changes" at some point to create a spark. It may have not worked. Off my rant chair now. Good luck to all teams in the playoffs and to the teams who may play an "extra" game this week on a Thursday night.
