  1. The score will be whatever Loudon wants it to be. Didn’t think Sequoyah could get worse than last year. Free falling with no bottom in sight.
  2. Looks like the karma bug has hit Greenback. They have greatly benefited by being able to lure players away from Alcoa, Maryville, William Blount and Heritage. Now they lose one to Alcoa. I would say no tears shed by these schools for Greenback. from what I understand this was a huge loss.
  3. Football coaches in East Tennessee better beware. Greenback will have to get on the ball it looks like South Pitt has hit two home runs in the transfer portal!! maybe they can find a few more addresses and put some more campers out there for transfers.
  4. When is the early signing date for Greenback’s transfer class for 2020?
  5. Depends on whether there are any new rental addresses available.
  6. MVP awards are given in championship games. Mr. Football is based on a seasons work. Which it should be.
  7. One dimensional teams usually have a hard time winning the big games.
  8. Reduce the number of classes and put some value back into winning a state championship and make regular season games mean something.
  9. When championship games are over wonder if the all the transfer players with two addresses will stay or go back home??
  10. Read interesting comment from that coach at Greenback. When asked what bothers him about South Pittsburg his reply; (NOTHING) saw it on Facebook. So take it for what you think it is worth.
  11. In California they class schools according to how they can compete Heritage would be moved down and Alcoa would be moved up. As well as Greenback.
  12. Heritage is on the last leg. I think they are on life support and need to go ahead pull the plug. do what white county did. Pull out of playoffs and schedule teams that you can compete with.
  13. In regard to McKamey. Karma finally caught up with him. All the behind the back that he has done through the years finally came back home to him I hate it for the school and kids. Hopefully they can find someone to pull everything back together.
  14. The nine classes in TASAA has diluted the level of competition in all regions regardless of size. There is not a region that has a top to bottom tough teams that are playoff worthy. class 1A is the most evident. with fewer classes you would have more schools to fill regions with. Region 1A wouldn’t be begging for someone to come to their district. Now that all the private schools are in their own playoff. Has really brought to light that public schools are far more adept at recruiting players to their school. Than the privates ever were. schools are reporting other schools over this but the TSSAA is unwilling to investigate. They have become afraid of lawsuits. I don’t see them changing anything!!!
  15. Reducing the number of classifications would solve the majority of these teams with losing records in the playoffs. The TSSAA has lost money on football playoffs for the past few years because no one wants to see these kind of games
  16. A couple of upsets are not the rule but rather the exception. Making playoffs should be a reward for a fairly successful season. Winning one or two games is not acceptable. and your right the TSSAA gets half the gate off the top. Some of these games do not make enough to meet expenses which causes a hardship on a lot of programs. who is going to pay to sit in bleachers in the cold and rain: and watch a team get beat by 50 or more points.
  17. Tonight’s first round games feature a slew of lopsided scores on teams that had no business in the playoffs. Too many classes!! And TSSAA wonders why football revenues are down. They need to do something about this travesty of terrible teams making playoffs. Even NCAA requires 6 wins!!!
  18. 6 is toooooooo many classes. I like the going back to districts and top two go to playoffs with 4 classes. Leave privates where they are.
  19. When I see the equipment moving dirt and concrete being poured I might believe that they intend on building a new high school. I have heard zero about this. Are you sure this is not a April fools trick?????
  20. Hammontree has been there for a few years. The football program has gotten worse every year. I don’t see it getting better in the near future unless drastic changes are made and I don’t see Blount county doing that. The Heritage football program looks to be DOA.
  21. Vonore is never getting a new high school.
  22. The few responses to this topic reflects the lack of interest and support by the folks in this community.
