Baylor, McCallie and MBA are not some of the best teams in the entire country. Only one of the three has an argument for being the best in the state. Do you think people in California or NJ complain about Bergan Cath or Buchannon or Gilroy or Delbarton or Clovis being at the top? Do you think they complain about how not fair it is? No. They recognize the achievement of beating them for state titles. Also, those teams are some of the best schools in the country. Any one of them smokes Baylor or Cleveland. Coincidence?

Medals for everyone. What a great sentiment. Clearly i'm not the only person who thinks this way as there have been more than one person on this board who have said they'd prefer one division. Notice how i never called you any names. I gave my opinion and it triggered you to the point of name calling. Go take a breath calm down.

There isn't any way to prove that. Just as there isn't any way to prove having 8 divisions would grow the sport. I want one division because I think if they added another division (probably going to be a small school d2) I don't think its accurate or right to say someone who wins the 152 bracket is on par with Logan Fowler, for instance. It diminishes the value of the titles for the kids who ARE the best in the state. One state, one tournament, one title.

The only thing that is really growing is the number of medals we're handing out to kids then complaining about "participation trophies". Also, the numbers you gave on California aren't recent. Albeit, they're more recent than the numbers I could find but they're still a few years old. Side note, there are other states that have one division. Cali is just the go to bc thats what they're known for in wrestling. New Jersey also only has one division and both states are leagues more competitive than Tennessee

Nah, you said the more kids participating the more divisions they'll have. Population aside, California has more kids participating in the sport and only has one division.

California has the single most kids participating in the sport and has 1 state title.

Having a small school division and now a likely small school d2 division dilutes the accomplishments of the state champs of big school and d2. In the history of the small school div state tournament there have been a handful of kids who could have won a title at the bigger division. Maybe. There should be one title, one tournament, one state champ in each weight. That's it.

Not low on the Uhorchucks, Jakobs is just a different animal at 113 and Lipsey beat Caleb this year already at 132. The closest of the three i'd think would be at 26. And even on that one I'm leaning towards Jarvis. Again, nothing against the brothers.

I think Small school only wins 120, 145, 152, and heavyweight. Big school picks up bonus points at 106,113,138,160,182 and possibly 195 as well.
