  1. How does this years Greeneville team compare to 2017 or 2018 team. I understand different teams and coaches just wondering if there’s any comparison.
  2. Yep. I went to the NW vs Springfield game at NW that year, beat Springfield pretty good if I remember correctly. They had a really good running back on that team, one of the better in the district back then.
  3. You’re right I don’t follow Forrest football and have not a clue about the going on’s in Chapel Hill. I do keep up with Robertson county teams, mainly Springfield, my comments were about what I know and have seen at ER over the past few years. There is talent there and always has been, to me, the coaching and schemes are what have been lacking there. Great job to them for getting a win last night.
  4. Ironically, the last time I think they had a “decent” team……Johnny O was their head after he left Springfield. I could be wrong, but I know he had a team or two that won a few ballgames.
  5. 100%! Need to work on the passing game before playoffs and not just trying to throw the deep ball. Slants and out routes and across the middle to the TE, which is usually a very good play for us.
  6. Welcome to the T, I see you joined 45 minutes ago. Great kids and lots of talent at East Robertson, great win for them last night. Coaching has been holding them back for a while and I’ll stand by that…..I should say play calling and schemes to be exact.
  7. I wouldn't call the Springfield game a slaughter, the score is deceiving. Portland lead 14-13 going into the 4th. Springfield just scored 21 points in the 4th to take the win, 6 coming off of a pick 6 and another 6 coming off a botched punt attempt to give Springfield short field. Now with that said, if Henry County can score like they did against NE and there defense wakes up they should win. Don’t sleep on Portland though give them an opportunity and they will jump on you, their wing backs/RB’s run north and south and run hard. Gotta play discipline assignment football on defense.
  8. Defense bails Springfield out again, great win and great job on another region title Jackets. OC still needs to go tho
  9. He’s been a traveling gypsy coach, he’s been a lot of places. About time to hit the bricks again.
  10. There’s a reason he’s still not the head coach at Mt. Pleasant
  11. I can’t say either way, I’m not there, but I’ll take your word for it and I’m not surprised at all by ER’s coaching calls
  12. Slant has been there ALL year against every team.
  13. Play calling is horrible….has been all year. We’ve got some horses take some shots.
  14. You broadcasting tonight? I won’t be able to make it up to Portland?
  15. Hoping the Jacket D can keep on keeping on in this one and the offense gets to clicking. It’s the time of year when the cream starts to rise to the top heading into November. If the offense doesn’t get a firm foot planted in the ground tonight, it could be a long game and a shorter post season. I still believe the coaching staff will have them hungry and ready to go get the win and the region title. Hoping both sides stay injury free and always, Go Jackets!
  16. Imho he’s better at basketball. I don’t know if he got any offers in round ball or not, I’d say so but not sure.
  17. 100% truth^ and let’s not forget the unmeasurable…..between the ears. I’m not talking football IQ, even though that’s very important. I’m talking about the mental fortitude of going to a college team and not being the only “stud” anymore. So many guys have gotten shots, be it Jucco D1 or whatever, and get there and there’s 125 other guys walking around that are as good if not better than they are and they can’t take that for whatever reason.
  18. I don’t really think any public schools have ever been “caught” at recruiting. Lots have been accused but from what I’ve seen, most that get accused play within the gray area to gain a competitive advantage. Usually happens in open zoned districts, which most districts are now, and districts that have county and city systems operating in them. Now do I think it happens indirectly, yes, but very hard to prove unless caught red-handed. I am however very surprised that someone hasn’t got caught in today’s times with camera phones and txt messaging.
  19. Just not one team that’s heads above everyone else in either side of the state right now. In the west the next 2 weeks is going to be wild for region seeding for sure. Could make for some interesting first round matches up.
  20. I agree. As crazy as it sounds, I don’t think there’s a way for Portland to finish third. They A: either win out and win the region, B: split the next 2 games and finish second no matter who they loose too, or C: loose the next two and finish 4th
  21. No they won’t miss it. Comes down to Kenwood and NE. Portland holds the tie-breaker over NE because of they beat them, Kenwood holds the tie-breaker over Portland because they beat them.
