  1. hmm anyone got the Odds on a Gray Eagles vs TC Yellowjacket matchup? Something tells me them Eagles will win this quad... and MAYBE the state, i agree with everyone else though THE Champ will come out of this quad, really wish it could come down to TC vs SM in the ACTUAL state finals, but thank you TSSAA for screwing that up... N.J.

  4. 1) Trousdale(Ya can move them up to AAA and they'd Probably STILL go at worst 7-1 in their region) 2) FCS 3) Gordonsville 4) Watertown 5) PCHS 6) Monterey 7) Jackson Co 8) Celina 9) RBSHS PC CAN finish as high as 3rd if everything falls in place for them but I'll give everyone a nice warning, do NOT underestimate them or else you will look a little like a fool.
  5. wasnt this the SAME situation last year, well last 3 years PC has had to go to the countryside of lebanon and all 3 years PC came back with a win, the BEST chance 8A has is really in the Celina/RBS game, though it wouldnt surprise me if Celina comes back with a win and it's an all 7A final, and do NOT count out the Lady Bobcats again, remember what happened last year with the SAME team(yes we dont have Brittany, Owen and Megan) but trust me they are READY for anything to be thrown at them. N.J.
  6. no simple answer to it, besides we live and die by the 3, durring the first half we were 7 of 10 from 3's then i think we hit 4 3's out of 13 attempted in the second half... and couldn't get much going in the paint at all, many say losing Brit hurt us but really 1 player does not a team make, besides THESE GAMES DO NOT MATTER TILL 2 WEEKS FROM NOW, ask Jackson County and Clay County about that and they KNOW that it doesn't matter till come tourny time. N.J.
  7. PC: 60 G'ville: 45 Terrah Garner - 30 pts N.J.
  8. i'll say this much ANYONE That overlooks The Lady Cats this year will be sitting at home come March (Remember that Jackson County) the way PC looks this year after seeing 2 Pre-Season Games and watching them playing against our alumni they will give people fits this year and COULD challange Clarkrange for that top spot, the only hard part would be wheter the BELIEVE they can beat Clarkrange or not, time will tell. N.J.
  9. Pickett County Thanksgiving Classic 11/27 Clay vs Cookeville Pickett vs Sunbright 11/28 Cookeville vs Sunbright Pickett vs Trousdale Co no clue whether the boys side is the same or not N.J.
  10. ok this is gonna look complicated but i was thinking like the TSSAA here, and trying to keep everything as CLOSE to geographically fair as possible the format is class, finish-district/region name dist record overall[region] East **2A 1-2a Hampton 3-0 9-1[5-0] v- *2A 2-2a Unaka(Elizabethton) 2-1 5-5[4-1] v *2A wc-4a Rockwood 0-1 8-2[3-2] **2A 1-4a Oneida 3-0 8-2[6-0] v- *2A 2-4a Oliver Springs 2-1 8-2[5-1] v *2A wc-4r Watertown 1-2 7-3[4-2] Mid-State **2A 1-2a Signal Mountain 1-1 9-1[3-1] v- *2A 1-5a Tellico Plains 1-0 7-3[3-2] v *2A 2-5a Silverdale(Chattanooga) 1-1 5-5[2-1] **2A 1-4r Trousdale County(Hartsville) 3-0 9-1[8-0] v- *2A 1-5a Boyd Buchanan(Chattanooga) 2-0 8-1[3-0] v *2A 2-4r Friendship Christian(Lebanon) 2-1 9-1[5-1] Mid-West *2A 1-9a Cascade(Wartrace) 2-0 7-3[6-0] v- *2A 1-10a East Robertson(Cross Plains) 2-0 8-2[5-1] v *2A wc-10a White House Heritage(White House) 1-1 7-3[4-2] **2A 1-13a McKenzie 1-0 9-1[5-0] v- *2A 1-6r Mt. N.J.
  11. OHS: 6 PCHS: 15 should have been a 21-0 game but PC muffed a field goal attempt at the end of the game which got returned by the eagles for a TD, could have been much more uglier than that. PC late in the game almost scored on 4 different occasions only to have each of them called back on blocking in the back penalties. Do not be surprised if the RBS vs PC game is a shootout next week. N.J.
  12. if its takes a message board posting to get you fired up then you've lost already! And yeah i noticed the weak attempt at slighting our team by pointing out where Laken is from and you're right she did cool off. The Monterey player didn't though and that was the difference in the season. Your transfers from Clinton Co. didn't do too bad though and yeah i know they are from Clinton Co so don't even start with the part about them being there since middle school. Can't wait to come to that dump you call a gym and wax you off your home floor AGAIN!!!! ... wait a minute... i'm NOT letting that stand. first off: the 2 players you are refering to Kayla Beth and Terrah, are BOTH from Byrdstown, born here and all, the only reasons they played in Albany a few years ago was the parents choice that and Kayla's father was the director of schools for the Clinton County School System so she didnt have much choice there. second: dump... DUMP... the Den is NOT a dump, i could say that the JC Gym is a dump but you know what i'm not gonna lower myself to that level. third: you guys forget 1 thing lemme give ya a date: 1/26/07 JC 51 PC 60 look it up we've beaten you guys before and the 2 losses against you were by 10 or less that season, don't think just because you're picked as one of the top teams in the state that makes you guys a shoe-in for the state tourny this year, you got 3 teams WAITING to knock you guys down a couple notches, do NOT be surprised third week of Feburary that you guys are sitting home watching PC play in the Sub State again. finally: yes the message boards will get the girls fired up for one reason, most people say that we as the saying goes are a "Flash in the pan" team, not true, we return the key players from last year and will repeat this year everyone from PC will agree with me on that. N.J.
  13. as long as the girls do not lose their focus OR get discouraged by loses to out of district teams like they did time to time last year, they SHOULD finish no worse than tied for 2nd in the district i'll call it like this: 1) Clarkrange 2) PCHS 3) JCHS 4) CCHS 5) Monterey do not be surprised if PC defeats JC once if not twice this year and plays Clarkrange VERY tight. N.J.
  14. other interesting facts Navajo Mountain HS(Tonalea, Arizona) Plays in the Utah HSAA Needles High School(Needles California) plays in the Nevada HSAA Coleyville HS(Coleyville, California) plays in the Nevada HSAA North Tahoe HS(Tahoe City, California) plays in the Nevada HSAA Truckee HS(Truckee, California) plays in the Nevada HSAA South Tahoe HS(South Lake Tahoe, California) plays in the Nevada HSAA these are mainly due to their proximity to teams in the other states HSAA, and the LONG travels they usualy would have to make in their host state, there are a few others but i cant remember them off the top of my head. N.J.
  15. agreed with this one, though wouldnt be surprised if the C'range Forrest & C'range OS games are the games of the night. N.J.
  16. first i'm gonna dispell all rumors about our team. 1) Kayla went to school in Albany for like 2 years JUNIOR HIGH, she moved back to PC her freshman year, they also live w/n throwing distance of the state line so they can go to either school if they wish, her and James chose to come back to PC. 2) Tarrah & Brittany Garner moved to Albany due to butting heads with our former coach (Alison Painter) due to not getting ANY playing time, Tarrah was an 8th grader at the time, when she came back she immediately found her way into the lineup and well you can see how much she means to the team. Between Garner, Garret & Gibson with Tuck coming of the bench, you cannot lose. 3) NO ONE was meaning harm towards Laken or #22 (forget her name) but hey you expect some of our boys players to NOT heckle them about their choices, nothing personal, but remember WHO ended a 30+ year streak for the boys... that's right JC. Besides they were gonna chant something else but i was sitting amongst the boys as was Coach Bibb and one look from him and they stopped attempting a derrogitory chant right away. 4) yes it's been EXACTLY 20 years since we went this far into the tourny scene, And i'm gonna give y'all a VERY impressive stat... 20-1, anyone wanna take a guess at that... that's right thats the girl's record in history of PC when making it to the Sub State/Sectionals (only loss back in 2000 to Lookout). So you can ALMOST be assured of the girls winning no matter where they go, and speaking of that: 5) WE WOULD LOVE TO PLAY CSAS, we are 2-0 against top 10 teams in the state the last week, so why not play what is considered the best team in the eastern time zone AND the team that ended an undefeated sub-state streak of our Boys not too long ago. I agree with D. J. a page or 2 back though, if we stay w/n shouting distance all game that is a victory, heck you never know though before the game started Monday night it was about 75% people picking JC over us, so who knows, if the same 'range shows up that showed up the first half of Gordonsville, and the same PC shows up that played the second half of the JC game... you never Know. 6) Big shout out to the Sr's of PC Meg White & Linsey Owen for how well they played monday too... didn't really get a chance to talk to them after the game, was a bit cautious of Owen at first but she HAS proven me wrong with her play over the last month. 7) I'll repeat what i said around Christmas when the girls won 4 games in 3 nights up in KY. When the Tourny starts... and after seeds are set... RECORDS/RANKINGS MEAN NOTHING, look at 2 of the top 10 in the state sitting at home now thanks to PC, DO NOT be surprised if a 3rd one goes home Saturday night (Assuming CB does not win over CSAS) ok i've ranted enough and need to get some sleep, also can Worden please give me a half-apology for the statement about JC going home early, j/k N.J.
  17. C'range 66 Trousdale 18 G'ville 43 Celina 39 Pickett 53 FCS 37 Jackson 64 W'mlnd 27 well i got 3 of the 4 right, what was that about smoking from the pipe? see y'all at watertown. N.J.
  18. PC swept FCS - this year by an avg of 4 points so that should be the spread for that game. PC +4 Celina vs Gordonsville - well... depending as stated above which teams of each shows up, would not be surprised if G'ville wins this one. G'ville +3 C'range vs TC - well at least TC made it to the regionals. JC vs W'moreland - if the same JC team that showed up durring the first half of The 7A finals shows up for this game, i would NOT be surprised to see W'moreland come away with a win. Something tells me that the Eagles will win this one. W'M +6 N.J.
  19. yeah i'm being nit picky here... but DJ you're wrong... 1998-99 was the FIRST sectional year, as we faced CCS in the first round that year at Tn Tech. The next year we faced them down at Chatt State and ended up getting runner up. As a member of the 97-98 team lemme tell ya how that season went down. We finished about 6-6 or 7-5 in the district had to win our first game to continue playing, got to the district finals, lost to Upperman, got to the regional finals lost to C'range(by 1 with a time out left and the ref wouldnt give it to us, but thats another story for another day), had to go to Sale Creek School to play a sub-state game against Chatt Christian School and well i'd rather NOT remember that game... and you think 6-12 is disapointing that year we had a total of 8 wins durring the regular season iirc. yeah we made sub-state but it was still disapointing. here is the last 10 years in a nut shell: 1997-98: Dist runner up, region runner up Sub state loss 1998-99: dist runner up, region runner up sectional loss 1999-2000: Dist runner up, region champ, section runner up, final 4(loss to Cosby) 2000-01: Dist champs, region champs, sub state win, loss first round(EHC) 2001-02: Dist champs, region champs, sub state win, loss first round(Halls) 2002-03: Dist runner up, region semis(loss to Trousdale) 2003-04: Dist runner up, Region first round loss(westmoreland) 2004-05: Dist runner up, region champs, sub state win, first round loss(wayne county) 2005-06: Dist runner up, region runner up, sub state loss(grace baptist) 2006-07: Dist champ, region champ, sub state loss(Chatt Arts & Sciences) PC's ONLY loss at home durring playoffs... 2007-08: Dist champ, region semis(loss to Jackson Co) 2008-09: ? maybe we've been spoiled all these years, but this season is NOT over till the tourny stars so LAY OFF OF THEM... N.J.
  20. Single A looks just about right, though do NOT be surprised if PC gets in the mix here soon. It also says something about this district when we have 2 in the top 3 and 2 more not too far behind(Clay & PC), everyone come out tonight to the Den and watch PC vs LA. N.J.
  21. actualy it was 3 years and yes i know this because i sat RIGHT NEXT to him on the bench, trust me he's better than people think and i was in no way pointing to you with that statement, there are some fans unfortunately in our gym that love to blame EVERYTHING on the coaches when some of this should go to the players or to the fans themselves for putting too much pressure on the kids. 100% agreed on Coach Bibb, given a year or 2 more this team will be ready to challange for a state title berth no problems, it's just a shame they didn't make it in last year. Coach Smith i know very well as i spent 2 years under him and know what he is capable of, heck i still remember all the plays he ran and he runs them today to great success, the girls i think have finally found their rhythm especialy after going 4-0 in KY this week, and getting Tara back helps a LOT as we now have a good presence under the basket alongside Garrett, Next up Friendship, hopefully this will be the test the girls needed to get back in this season, mark my words 6-4 in the district is doable, as long as the girls keep 3 words in their mind: "Win" and "Have Fun". Yes it is possible. N.J.
  22. they played Metcalfe County & Russell County and won 59-40 and 64-57 respectively this puts them 3-0 in the classic have no idea when or if they play tomorrow but 3-0 in a classic they had won last year isnt bad. This should give them momentum going into their game with Friendship this weekend. boys games Hancock County, KY 52 Pickett 36 Pickett 40 Butler County, KY 37 oh boy... at least being away from some VERY rabid fans at the den has done some good for both teams, now if i could just convince some fans to stay off of coaches Walker, Bibb and Smith's butts... which i'm getting very frustrated with certain fans calling for their heads... you fans are a part of the problem you know... trying to flog a dead mule is the same thing as what you are doing here, the boys lost 4 guys last year and you expect it to be just another team... no not gonna happen, i love the boys to death but it'll take a LOT of maturation to be the same team they were last year, i'll give fair warning to the rest of the district though, do not expect to walk all over BOTH teams the second half of the season, this tourny will have taught them well. *end rant* N.J.
  23. oh we're here, we're just a little shell shocked right now after what happend up on the mountain Tuesday night. We can assure you that will NOT happen when they come up to the den... The girls are a little flat right now, some would say they came in over-confident after winning in overtime against RBS and taking AYI to a last second shot, trust me do NOT be surprised if you see at the end of the season once all the girls are healthy and ready to go, them tied with Either Jackson or Clarkrange for 1st or 2nd, they are a LOT better than everyone thinks they are. Once Garner is back that will add another good post player that will relieve the pressure off of Owen and Garrett. On the Boys side... i was a part of PCHS basketball for 6 years (2 as a grad assistant) and that has to be the second worst showing i've ever seen (those curious look up the score from 1998-99 season against Upperman on the boys side to see the worst...), it's like i was watching a middle school team play against a pro team and it's painful to say this. They could have won the game with a LOT of luck (shots falling that is, it seemed every time they shot the ball would rim out...) Bibb, Walker & Wright i will guarentee you will make sure those boys do not lose when Monterey comes up here. The road doesnt get much easier for the teams from here on. @ Jackson (if it wasnt snowed out) vs Clarkrange vs Celina vs Van Buren Co 3-4 Games at Russellville's 1st Southern National Bank Tourny (which girls came in 2nd last year, boys... i think went 2-2) then vs FCS vs LA not a soft schedual, this schedual helps both teams get tough for the post season, for those that think we're down this year just wait till the last week of Februrary before passing that judgement and you'll see what PC is REALLY made of... *rambling over* N.J.
  24. well probably the most out of control game i've ever seen in TSSAA history happened tonight, when a grand total of 12 players fouled out in this game, and 76 personal fouls called with each coach getting 1 T apiece and 4 other players getting T's, gotta be the wildest thing i've ever seen. Gotta know though, is 76 a record for that or something, i know someone else on the boards has an official sheet from this game if they wanted to post it or not. I'm not gonna say the refs were horrible this game... they were EQUALLY Horrible for both teams, there is a tape going to TSSAA for the benefits of both teams as this was a very unfortunate thing that happened, the only good thing that happened was there were NO Fights in this game and as far as we know no serious injuries either. Your thoughts: N.J.
  25. i gotta take my hat off to PCHS this time, thats the first time since i believe 95 or 96 that they've swept Celina and well the second game should have been no contest, but hey we'll take them as they come. People might wanna come out to the Den on Friday to watch PCHS vs. RBS which is looking like a much better matchup than last time they met back in RBS. N.J.
