  1. As I said, I read a post. I don’t know for certain.
  2. Great game even despite the refs. I saw a post that it was the same crew that worked the McCallie/MBA game during the season @ McCallie. If this is true then it explains it. MBA won even with the horrible calls. I watched it on YouTube and was done with that crew when MBA hit back in the flat who took it about 70 yds. When the RB had gone about 40 or 50 yds the line judge threw the flag for holding in the backfield. Pitiful!
  3. I doubt it. He is still hiring staff. Word on the street is he hired Father Ryan DC. Doesn’t make since to me since his JP2 offenses were help to 21 points ONCE in 6 seasons….
  4. You are correct. He has always had some studs in front of him from 145-170. Tough kid and good aggressive wrestler.
  5. Baylor has a great offense…decent defense. MBA has very good offense and exceptional defense. Give me MBA by 10+. Defensive vice squeezes tighter on the second match.
  6. I had a great childhood! Had some folks try to convert me from time to time but no biggie…lol.
  7. My best friend growing up was CoC and I am Catholic. I went to his church and he went to mine. They will NEVER hire a Catholic coach!
  8. If the St. Joseph’s kids had stayed together back then instead of going to a multitude of high schools…it would have been special!
  9. Golden Tate was there when the diocese relaxed the financial aid rule since it was still a relatively new school if my years are correct.
  10. You nailed it. AAA will be very spicy with a school competing at half the price. I also think LA has the best youth group of coaches in the city so I don’t see them falling off. I hate that the Nashville teams have to be split because of the 1 school in Knoxville and the 3 teams in Memphis. I am ok with the teams in Chattanooga since it is a short drive, but a 3 hour drive for mandatory division games? You can miss me with that!
  11. Agreed. I’ve seen them every year since his arrival. Passionate and respectful of other team’s players were staples. LA fan base was also cordial while kicking your brains in. I don’t see the mockery either so I want to be enlightened as well.
  12. Thanks WG. There are some teams listed that I am sure have some wrestlers ranked: Greeneville, Lakeway, and Father Ryan.
  13. Thanks Hamm! Never complain about someone doing things for free! Respect!
  14. Ryan did it several years back when Nolensville’s star WR was on the bench behind Rector’s son. He had to sit out 3 games and I believe that was only because Coach Derrick has Irish ties. Now the kid has multiple P5 offers. Kids that transferred to PC were also blocked the year they were beaten by Alcoa in the state ship.
  15. I think you are right.
  16. Irish defense held MUS to no TDs until the 4th qtr when the coach did what? You guessed it….pooched the kick and the guy takes it to the Irish 4 when he is pushed out. Kicked it deep until the 4th. The genius of the staff is so impactful they should give up coaching and work on molecular chemistry! the Irish have given up at least 1 special teams TD in 9 of 11 games!
  17. Been traveling but keeping up with the board. Plus I know y’all are tired of my Rector Rants..LOL. Since @Booger. Graced us with his words and reminder of the PP meetings I figured it was on right to jump in!
  18. I got Ryan and Knoxville Catholic for the dub tonight. FR coming to the Booger at the Creek next week for the rematch. Give me Pope over Briarcrest and of course St. Ben looses….Memphis goes 0-4 tonight. It sucks to be KC…on the road for 13 hours total!
  19. A region loss at that….been 20+ years since that happened.
  20. A lot of Catholic families go to MBA and it starts in middle school. MBA has 2 starters from the Catholic Panthers organization which is the middle school equivalent to other schools. 1 is all state in football and a wrestling champion. Let’s not forget, a lot of the kids also end up at Pearl-Cohn after a brief stint at Ryan. Kids that were told they couldn’t play certain positions leave, flourish, and get offers in said positions. This goes back to staff not being able to evaluate talent! I’ve seen games where they have kids who aren’t even 200lbs going against offensive tackles! I heard the same thing about Boots and a lot of excitement when he was on campus for Homecoming. Folks reading tea leaves that aren’t there.
