I had that thought too. Some see talent at USJ, but I don't know how talented they are really. The tall post girl at the middle school seems to be pretty good. I didn't see any eye catching guards. They loss some valuable seniors the last couple years, can that be matched?

Man! JCM made some huge moves in their hires. You don't get much better than those two. From what I heard they are getting at least $80k and its all basketball, no classroom. That is college style. Hopefully they bring winning back to a school that should have never been shut down.

What about the opening in Medina?

I think this goes for the boys jobs in Jackson as well. Fuller st South Side gets the cream of the crop and will continue as long as they are the winning program. Any that he doesn't get will now go to TCA with Williams. North Side, Liberty and JCM will struggle to get talent until they prove they can win

The coach they have, or had came after Andrew Hicks left for Shelbyville. I am interested to know what happened. They had a decent season

His daughter definitely fits TCAs style of play and I do believe it's true that she has played AAU with many of those girls. Dexter is a stand up guy with state championship winning experience. Great hire by TCA! I'm interested to see the players he draws in. His son will be a freshman and he is pretty good. Both daughter and son will be eligible next season.

Being hearing this for a a while. Nothing confirmed yet. I also heard he was related to or friends with that new superintendent in Jackson, which is how he got the Haywood job is what I was told.

I agree. A few years ago there were two kids that should have a least been nominees, but I never saw their names mentioned. One was Hailey Hardaway from Bolivar and I can't remember the other kid's name from South Side.

How long before Arlington comes vacant?

A slow start to say the least, but I think South Side was the better team buy dug themselves too deep early. 3 more minutes and I believe the there's a different outcome of that game. However, #3 for Covington may be the best PG around in her class. Just as Jada for Westview. Kudos to South Side coaches and Covington coaches. It was a battle, indeed. I enjoyed it.

All those refs are NW officials which is the association that Westview uses all year. I know the black official and the older guy I've seen officiate at Dyersburg. I asked a coach that was there about it and he said normally region games 7AA would have Memphis officials but i guess since they didn't play, their association didn't send any or there was a change. There were bad calls both ways as in every game. I agree there were several times that the officials weren't counting 5 seconds or started counting late or stopped counting earlier. The guy beside apparently was an official and he said it also. Hawk Guy mentions the block call, which in did was a block and I also saw the official signal block but gave the foul to someone else. Which would have given Jada 2 or 3 fouls I believe that possibly could have sat her down, who knows if it would have mattered? South Side got a way with some physical play throughout, but it looked like early on they were going to let them battle. There was a couple more block/charge calls that could have went either way that if they would have called them Jada she could have had 4 or possibly fouled out. All in All, I loved watching the game and glad I got to see her. As a 10th grader, she is extremely dangerous and knows how to get to where she needs to be. Great player! Someone mentioned South Side struggled against Westview's zone. I will have to disagree, their post players had a field day. Westview made more shots and made them when it hurt. I didn't get a ticket to either game tonight but I am glued here for updates. I'm sure Westview runs away with Fayette Ware but South Side and Covington will be good.

I think I saw your coaches Saturday night out eating. Those are some big guys and young. Did they both play for South Side?

Biggest Key - Officiating...The best guard in the state, 8 consecutive state tournament appearances, 13AA officials Game Changer - South Side's shooting and guard play Can Westview play fast for four quarters? Can South Side control the game? Will South Side play loose or tense? I agree this will be a battle as well as the speed and depth will take a toll down the stretch. South Side holds on to win.

Gotcha. I remember them from a couple years back and they seemed really slow, at least compared to South Side's team then. I was just wondering about that assessment. Somebody keep us updated. I want to try to make the Region Championship game no matter who is in it. I want to see Jada Harrison.

So you think that physically and athletically South Gibson matches?

How did that work? Isn't it supposed to be so many per team?
