  1. Well, I was dead wrong about a couple of those. Major credit to Nolensville and Columbia both on their performances. Just going off the score and stats it sounds like they both played excellent football games. Green Hill is a young program and they found a way to win. That’s all that you have to do in the playoffs. Can’t wait for these round 2 matchups. My Patriots played excellent and picked up a great in round 1. I am so proud of them once again. It’s been a great year and I can’t wait to see them keep playing important football games. Now it’s time for a big time rematch with a county rival.
  2. That’s really interesting. I had tried to look it up in the past and see if there was a relation between the two. Nice little nugget. Especially since it is a possibility we could play each other in the semi-finals.
  3. Thank you all for your insight on Wilson Central. It sounds like a solid team that can put up a fight, but the Patriots should be able to get it done in this one.
  4. Right now, I’m leaning towards Green Hill, Page, Station Camp, and Mt Juliet. I bet Station Camp will get it together and Mt Juliet is playing well right now so I think they’ll win at Columbia and get the chance to rematch Green Hill.
  5. The playoffs are here. My Patriots begin the playoffs with high hopes and great potential to make a run this year. The first round opponent is Wilson Central High School. They’ve got some good wins on the schedule and I’m sure they are a rock solid team. I look forward to the game and I’m excited about my Patriots and the challenges they have ahead. I’m sure this one will be tough, but I bet these boys are ready to get it done in this one. Anyone on these boards know anything about Wilson Central that they want to share, and help get us all more excited about Friday night?
  6. Here we go. It’s one of the most exciting times of the year. The high school football playoffs. After some shifting in the off-season and newly formed regions, here’s what we go this year. 1 Green Hill vs. 4 Franklin County 2 Columbia vs. 3 Mt Juliet 2 Station Camp vs. 3 Nolensville 1 Page vs. 4 Wilson Central I would assume anything can happen in any of these games. That’s what the playoffs are all about. I’m extreme excited and hopeful for my Patriots and being able to make a big run in the playoffs this year. How does everyone see this quadrant shaking out? Any Wilson County folks able to share some insight into their schools while we wait for Friday? I just want to try to know what to expect since all I can look at is scores.
  7. I actually agree with you. It’s never easy when there’s a rematch. I’m fine with not seeing them twice.
  8. That was a fun game. Very proud of the Pats. Great win. The Page speed definitely showed last night. Hats off to Columbia. They fought hard all night and made it a great game. They will be a tough out in the playoffs. A rematch is certainly not out of the question right now.
  9. Good stuff by the OP. I’ve been trying to look at all the regions and figure it out myself, but you just made it much easier for me. Many thanks. The West side has some really quality teams through regions 5, 6, 7, and 8. Look forward to seeing how it all shakes as we head into the playoffs. My guys earned a great win last night against Columbia but that one coming this Friday is massive. Nolensville still alive with a chance to shake the playoff race up a little bit. That will be a fun game at Page Friday night.
  10. In all my many years on this earth, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Page team this good. They’re fast, athletic, and they fly to the ball. Playmakers all over the field. Rolling back into town for a visit just to see this game. It’ll be a great one. Columbia sounds like they are mighty tough this year and I’m sure they’ll be ready to give Page everything they’ve got. Looking forward to Friday.
  11. That’s tough. Nolensville looks nothing like they’ve looked the last few years. Not sure what the story is there. Franklin County put up a good fight against Page. It was close for awhile in that one. I could see them at least winning against Lincoln and Spring Hill. Since Nolensville already beat Lincoln County already, I’ll predict Nolensville and Franklin County sneak in.
  12. Good for Stewarts Creek. Blackman might be rebuilding but that’s still a good win for Coach Caudill and that program. It’s been a tough year for them having to cancel two games. I like that coach and hope they can keep building off this and moving forward.
  13. Kudos to White County. I remember those few years they were in Page’s region and they looked ready for the game to be over as soon as it started. I loved my visit there in that town and that school. Great community of very welcoming, kind people. Glad to see that they have improved a lot. I know they lost, but they’ve clearly come a long way. I think I’ve heard their coach is a hometown guy. I love that too. Mt. Juliet is a great program. Well coached and very talented. They are on a roll and 5A is much more manageable then 6A across the state. They could make a run this year. Hopeful they will because I’m a big fan of coach Perry. He’s one of the good guys. Good luck to both schools going forward. There’s a chance we’ll see ya in the playoffs since these regions connect come playoff time.
  14. I have great respect and admiration for Coach Rice and all he stands for. He has done an incredible job building this program from the start. They are still not quite there yet as far as being competitive with a really good Riverdale team. Riverdale by 2-3 scores.
  15. Thanks for that update. I had not seen that. Ya never know when you play at Columbia. Especially right now, with the shortage of officials. Good luck in that one still.
  16. I think that’s fair. They also are not as healthy as they can be. Once a couple key guys can return that will help. They are definitely still not as good as they are going to be as the season continues.
  17. I think the key to the game is Blackman’s passing attack vs Riverdale’s defense. They have some dudes on that defense. I remember watching Coach Tygard’s offense at Ravenwood. He can dial some stuff up and make people work. I bet with that extra week of prep they ended up, he’s going to have something ready for Riverdale that they didn’t show against Brentwood. Right now, I lean Riverdale in a tight one. That extra game and experience helps them with being in better game shape then Blackman. They win a tight one. I’m probably going to this one and looking forward to it.
  18. Unrelated but those old Riverdale Oakland games were a blast for a guy who didn’t care who won. To this day, I’ve never attended a game with more people at the game, then when I went to Riverdale Oakland, for the first time in 2009. Actually went again in 2010. Both times it was a blast. Great games. As is the case in Williamson County, the thing I hate most about all the growth in population is that’s it’s caused so many schools to be built. It’s taken away from those old time connections that people had to just a few schools. I do love having lots of schools and more good competition in Williamson county though. Now on topic. That performance today was impressive. I’ll never get tired of watching an old school coach line up and run the wing-t with such success in 2021.
  19. We are two weeks into the season and heading into region games next week. It’s time for the ones that count the most. What’s everyone know about these teams now that we’ve seen them all play one or two games? Page has looked solid so far. Franklin might be down but the Pats still took care of business last night. Anyone know why Franklin County and Spring Hill didn’t play last night? Here’s the records and schedule for this upcoming Friday night. Franklin County 0-1 at Columbia 1-1 Lincoln County 0-2 at Nolensville 0-2 Spring Hill 0-1 at Page 2-0
  20. Looking forward to watching/listening to you guys leading into kickoff. It wouldn’t be a Friday night for me without the show. Glad y’all are back doing it again this year.
  21. This is why this one is hard to predict. Scrimmages may show how good or bad these teams are right now, but these teams always bring their A game in this one. Should be a fun game.
  22. One of Williamson County’s biggest rival games takes place this Friday night in the Battle of 840. As a long time lover of high school football, it always brings me joy that this game became an annual deal. I’m sure this will be another fun for these two communities. What does everyone know about these two teams this year? How does this years edition of this game play out?
  23. Chandler Tygrad is going to learn a lot about his team right out of the gate. Talk about a challenging set of weeks. With the right attitude, it could be a very good thing, though. Good competition can bring good learning experiences. I could see them winning 2-3 of them. Brentwood lost a lot of key players in the offseason. Plus, Ron Crawford not being there has to make a difference. I think that season opener is a toss up. I’m undecided on what game I am going to this Friday. This is one I think I want to check out. As an outsider who just loves Tennessee high school football, I look forward to watching from the outside and seeing how this new coach’s program starts to take shape.
  24. I’m an outsider to this game, but I’m really excited it’s happening. This is what high school football should be. Strong programs being willing to schedule a good tough match up to start the year. This will be a great way for both of these teams to prepare for their tough region schedules ahead and eventually the playoffs. I enjoyed watching this game in the semi finals last year from my couch and if I wasn’t going to be somewhere else Friday I’d love to be at this one. If Henry County has any of those key guys from last year coming back I see no reason they can’t compete and make this one interesting. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
