  1. Gordonsville by 3 scores as long as we don’t have a bunch of turnovers. There is a lot of respect between these two programs, I hope this game can stay on the schedule. As far as East contenders go at this point: 1)South Pittsburg 2A) Gordonsville 2B)Clay County 4)Coalfield
  2. It’s easy to blame one position or one coach but this is two weeks in a row we have been run over on defense and not been able to move anyone on offense. That’s a team weight room issue, that could also contribute to some of the injuries. All in all I believe we will have everything figured out by the time we go to Celina in October
  3. Injuries did not have an effect on the outcome tonight
  4. That’s fair. I’ll go Gordonsville 13-7. Judging off this past Friday, Gordonsville will really struggle to run the football against good teams. I am hopeful for a better Friday night with a few big plays in the passing game but it’s going to be hard to score in the red zone. I am excited for another big game Friday night and glad it’s at home
  5. I reckon it's a good thing Jacket316 taught me how to screenshot
  6. Gordonsville’s offense was not clicking mostly because starting QB didn’t take a snap in any preseason scrimmage. I expect a much better outing next week. Regardless, Smith will be tough to handle for any team in the trenches this year.
  7. Gordonsville is not scrimmaging anyone this spring
  8. Good game Pirates and good luck the rest of the way, see you same time next year at Gordonsville
  9. Don't know what you're talking about, Gordymomma is not from Gordonsville. All I see in the thread are predictions for the Pirates
  10. Don't get worked up, just a hometown prediction
  11. Put me down for Tigers 27 Pirates 21. If we slow down (not stop) the Pirates D-Line by play design, wrap up and tackle the Pirate ball carriers, and limit the turnovers I like our chances
  12. I usually pay no attention to the clowns but the “momma” thing got under my skin. Can’t wait to head down there tomorrow
  13. I never knew our Gordonsville mothers had such intrinsic knowledge of the history of high school football. You must be a student of the game to recollect memories of Trousdale playing in 1A, the SP dominance since and make predictions on the Blue Cross Bowl in Chattanooga. I apologize for underestimating you.
  14. You sure do love you some Trousdale “gordymomma” I for one think South Pitt is a better program than Trousdale. I also think Hampton represents the East in 2A this year. Thoughts?
  15. You might but it’s been at least 15 years
  16. Gordonsville has played very flat and uninspired the past two weeks. I hope that switch can be flipped in one week and we play aggressive. I’ll stick with my original thought: SP has more talent than Gordonsville as is the case every year. However, the talent gap is narrow as it’s been in a long time. I am hopeful and confident we will find a way to win. I have no doubt there will be a large home crowd Friday night. No disrespect to our district brethren, but I imagine Red Springs and Clay County doesn’t bring the casual fan out on name alone.
  17. SP beats Clay down 45-7. While Gordonsville only barely beat Clay 21-14. Seems like simple math to me; SP will be too much for the Tigers once again
  18. Congrats Pirates! I like the…… confidence this will bring to everyone in SP
  19. Random question - is the gentleman that would yell "hello" from the fence still around? Haven't heard him the past few GV/SP meetings. He used to be lively
  20. JB scored on the first drive last game to make it 6-0 so i would say it’s quite possible It is a very different Gordonsville team. I believe our o-line is our weakest unit which is unusual. However this is the best passing attack we’ve had maybe ever. Defense plays hard and is well coached. This team does not have a beat you down style, but I will say if we get to play next week we will be in it until the end
