And how soon was she or the kther highest scoring varsity player out against Union city? #13? You do have a much tougher schedule from last year from what I can tell, but only playing your bench for the last minute and a half or less when you're up by 30+ is the exact reason why people view it as helping her pad stats. If you're playing a team that you know you're gonna beat by 30+, why not take her out as soon as you get to 20 over? Especially if it's only around 6 games a year. And not just GC....several teams do the same.

If you go back and look on Hudl, it's clear that GC very rarely ,if ever, takes Hart out. I've seen a couple games where she had multiple if not double digit turnovers and still stayed in the game. But there are a couple players you can clearly see makes one error and he pulls out quickly. And from what I've seen Wilkins doesn't throw the bench in until they get around 40 or more ahead and always leaves at least 1 varsity player in. I forsee alot of rough years for gc in the future. Can't be developing players with that little time invested in the average players.

It shouldn't only be about stats. GPA and character should be considered as well. These should be kids that the Littles can aspire to be. I love the graphics that include the GPA. And also, it says alot when your teammates are sharing or promoting you as well. Very reflective of the leadership. Lots of athletes can put up numbers, but this should be held for those who hold themselves to a higher standard on and off the court.

Sims hasnt had to pitch much this year from ehat ive seen. No doubt Westview is the favorite to win it all for softball in 12A. Look for a Huntingdon/Westview championship game. None of the other teams have enough players with heavy bats. I think union city is in third before districts. They went to state last year in single A. Was surprised GC struggled as much this year as they were runner ups in single A district last year. But from what I've seen they only have about 3 girls hitting consistently. First two in the lineup and one more. I hear they need a new coach next year too.

I don't have ties to either team and as an outsider who watched the game...Yes, the refs were a huge reason for GC loss, however, also part of that on GC. Lots of missed rebounds and changes to starters vs players. If it were me, I would've played the same players as I did in Summertown and hope for the same magic. That tech was ridiculous from what I understand. I feel bad for GC because I feel like they have some rebuilding years ahead of them. I hope this isn't their last appearance for awhile. As for everyone else, here's to hoping Jada Harrison and her team wipes the floor with them. Looking forward to postseason AAU play. TN has definitely caught the eye of us surrounding states!

Just watched the GC game. Looks like from the district and regional finals they pulled together more as a team. Happy to see that. I wouldn't say Hart carried the team on her back. Did she score the most points? Yes. But in such a close game, the other scores and defensive plays were just as crucial. Not one player can beat a team of 5 all by themselves. I bet it was an electric game to watch live. Congrats to WV and GC. Really hope we see both of these teams on Saturday in the ships!

Read jadas article in the jackson sun today. Pure grit and determination right there! I predict we will see weather's get Ms basketball, but jada had another year and no doubt will continue to dominate and gain that title as well! Great times in TN high school basketball right now! Wishing Jada well! WV and Huntingdon both returning all, correct? GC losing like 4 or 5 including the oldest Hart? Wilkins will have some work on his hands and some role players may have to step up. Really hoping to see both GC and WV advance to state but I know that's a tall order with Loretto in the mix.

How did Vujicic do tonight? She has been doing an excellent job with the 3s the last few games! Great help to Darby and possibly a standout once Darby graduates.

I only know what I've heard. I have watched online and in person this year too. It was not a secret during aau season either when you see teammates not even speaking to each other at big events. Wilkins is a great coach. Arguably one of the best in TN high schools in all classes, but ignoring the elephant in the room may have come back to bite em. Outside of all the logistics of basketball and defenses, I'd say that's why GC can't beat WV, team chemistry makes all the difference. You also look to players, especially those stand out players, to be leaders. I don't see that GC has that either. Body language on the court shows alot. Jada clearly leads her team and doesn't play selfish ball. A great teammate and leader. I can't wait to see how this plays out the rest of the tourney. Hopefully GC can rally it together but like Pioneer, I'm not sure they will make it out of the region at this rate.

Word on the street is there is alot of team tension/drama at GC and it is finally translating onto the court. You can't win against a solid team(esp like WV) without a tough teamwork mentality. Sure the Hart sisters are great but they have to know they can't do it by themselves and involve their teammates more. From the last few games I saw, they would rather pass it to each other and get a turnover than an open man, usually one of the girls in the 4 position. If you aren't confident about your teammate, they won't be either!
