  1. I've seen the film from this scrimmage.. I kept asking myself is Pearl's front seven this good or is Lipscomb's line not that good. Think it's a bit of both. Pearl has got some dudes up front but Lipscomb does not look physical. Sure both teams probably were not showing a whole lot but Lipscomb looked way more talented last year.
  2. It was actually pretty evenly matched. HHS offense scored on two straight drives before MJ scored. MJ looked like they ran an RPO every single time they ran the ball and QB tried throwing it every time. HHS QB looked better than MJ.
  3. Portland was at Station Camp
  4. It's really a free for all once you get your region schedule. Most coaches will call in county schools and non region rivals first because you want a bigger gate. Usually the toughest part is when you get to 1 or 2 non-region games left and need to find someone. Most mid-tier and small programs will have better luck. Big 6A schools are going to find it tough to find schools that want to play them.
  5. Not much. The other QB Gammon I believe can run the offense if they leave Borders at RB. Team as a whole looked very small in the Spring. Haven't seen them yet this summer.
  6. Glad to see Station Camp and White House in a region together. Past two years showed a great gate for both schools.
  7. I would love for Macon to come out on top. Hopefully they have put on a little more size since spring. When I watched them against Liberty Creek in the spring their run game was not good, however their pass game was what was going well for them. Again it was spring but very interested to see how they end up this year.
  8. I'm going to say White County or Upperman. Macon still has the Mr Football kid but they looked tiny when they played Liberty Creek in the Spring.
  9. See a lot of talk from people about the region with Marshall County and Pearl. Let's not forget Station Camp is in that region now as well. They'll turn heads this year. They open the year with Beech and Gallatin before Marshall County game.
  10. From what I've heard they're not very confident in any of the other options they have, especially already in the middle of June. Nothing wrong from going back to the old Beech days, just seemed like in spring they focused a lot on the pass game and run game was not very strong. Crabtree always tends to pull his team together though. I believe they are very young up front and lost their top two rushers from last season. Their talent definitely is strongest at the skill position, just gotta find someone quick to get them the ball.
  11. He hasn't been coaching at Beech. He did a few years ago but took a break. His two sons will definitely be going to Stratford with him. We'll see if Beech can get a transfer in because they really do not have a backup. Spring game Beech had a ton of good skill kids and were passing a lot compared to typical Beech. Looking like Crabtree gonna have to go back to the old days.
  12. Station Camp at Beech should be on that list. Teams haven't played in 2 years. Game has been highly talked about since schedule release.
  13. I haven't been in East Tennessee in a few years, but I always enjoyed watching the old Knox West OC's offense and learning from him. Can't remember his name we just always called him biscuit. I believe he left for Cleveland from West a few years ago.
  14. Agreed. Powell had the weapons to win without Nolen. Nolen was just a big body in the regular season but once they had the gold ball in their sights he turned it on. I think more than anything Nolen's presence helped Powell. Opposing teams think about him all week and more than likely take up a lot of practice and meeting time game planning around him. Having the #1 player in the state transfer in also boosted the team's confidence from where it already was I'm sure.
  15. Looked like a complete accident. Video isn't great but looked like more injury occurred from the slip then the "clothesline." Even in the TSSAA after game report looked like everyone agreed it was an accident so I'm not sure how someone is going to receive emotional damages. That Hunters Lane staff are all stand up guys as well trying to make a change. I feel for the ref but there was no intent behind that. Assess the penalty and move on. Ref said he wants to continue to ref this coming up season, but I do not see how that will happen after a lawsuit against a coach and the entire metro school district.
  16. Since 2010 Beech and Hendersonville have played a total of 15 times. Hendersonville has won 9 of those 15 games. In the last 10 meetings Hendersonville and Beech have 5 wins each. No where in there does it scream Buccaneer domination.
  17. Starting with Beech and Gallatin is definitely a tough start. I'm very interested to see how Gallatin looks in spring with all the changes. Losing a few players to transfer hurts but you're right will definitely be a different Gallatin team this year.
  18. I don't think you understand how many people wanted Bain to be the head coach and what he will do to change things even more at SC. Alexander helped change the program but everyone knew Alexander would only be for a few years and Bain and Alexander have pretty much been co-head coaches the past 3 years leading up to this moment. They also did not lose any assistant coaches. It's definitely not an easy schedule but SC has seemed to fair just fine the past two years playing schools with 6a number of students with them having the students of 4a.
  19. Tough schedule but people have also said the past two years and they've been making their way back. I think SC is going to surprise some people this year
  20. Correct. Was at Hendersonville for around 15 years before going to Station Camp
  21. The plan was always to hire within, and it will be a coach with 30 years of experience with a majority of that coming from Sumner County. They also have 15 assistant coaches on staff so I think they're good on that.
  22. Everyone knew he would only be coaching for a few years to help Station Camp get back. Like Mondo said the position should just be rolled over to Chris Bain.
  23. Hendersonville's visitor side is pretty large as well. Don't know what the seating capacity difference is.
  24. Looks like Merriweather has left Gallatin for Bearden. The talk about him leaving has been going around for a while but I was surprised to see it be Bearden.
