Why not just go and create a Bradley Love Fest thread?

From the sounds of it, I’m not sure that it would have mattered. Did not see this result coming and then to hear the radio guys bragging about winning the 2nd half when I am willing to bet that West made some substitutions.

What makes you think they can’t? They have athletes everywhere.

So you are saying that the majority of dominate players that West has had over the years have come from the “Bearden zone”? I can think of a few dominate players from Halls, Gibbs, and Bearden but for the most part, I think the majority have come inside the West zone. I’m not saying that there is not a zoning issue in Knox County, as that is an entirely different thread.

What exactly have all these great Bearden MAC teams gotten the HS? 7-5? 0-1 to start the new year? I don’t really care what Coach Jones and Bearden do. If kids want to play at Bearden, by all means, go for it. But please don’t act like Bearden isn’t bringing kids in from out of the Bearden “zone”.

Clinton wins this in a tight one. West struggled to get out of their on way on Sat. Not sure that can be fixed in a weeks time. The Dragon’s put some points on the board and I expect more of the same this week.

Unless the Dawgs get another 3 or so “move ins” this week, I’m gonna take Alcoa by a lot. Was not impressed by what I saw on Sat.

I like Powell in this one. They seem to have all the pieces to make a run at another State title.

Shocked that JC didn’t fair better at OR. Especially after reading on here how JC made West look like a rec league team in their scrimmage together. I guess neither Bearden or West are very good.

Hopefully these “roaches” will lead to wins against the likes of Cocke County and Heritage. Do you watch the other teams OL and count their “roaches” up to determine that you guys have lead your conference? Good luck to the Smokes this year! New conference should be beneficial.

I think at the moment it is Oakland and everybody else in 6A. 5A is interesting. I think if Page finds a QB they will make a run at it again because of how young they were overall last year. Oak Ridge has to be the favorite coming out of the East this year. If they don’t make the semi’s the next two years then something is definitely wrong in the Secret City!

Coach Jones is just special man. He attracts D1 kids year in and year out.

Great hire by OR! Be interesting to see if he lets his coaches coach or he just decides to do it all.

This makes me chuckle when I read it…. How about you give Powell some credit for how West played. They were the two best teams in 5A by a leaps and bounds. It isn’t even close. Not a single team out West could have played with either. You fellas out there had yourselves believing you could though. Y’all had me believing you could! Never have I been more wrong! The 1st quarter was the only thing interesting about this game.

Isn’t it time for Willie or kittenwild to start a 2023 OR thread? Can’t wait to hear how great they are going to be. Greatest of everything should be unleashed next year!

Kittenwild’s feelings have been hurt all year. The great OR has the best everything in his eyes and everyone knows that is just not true. Average team at best. Really thought the West would represent in 5A this year. Boy was I wrong. The SC game was probably played the week before in Powell. All that talk about Springfield, Mount Juliet, and The Great Henry County ended up being just that. West and Powell would have dominated any of these schools out West. Congrats to West. Amazing season!

Pretty sure I heard Mike Keith say that the refs in the Page/West game were out of Memphis. Solid effort though.

OR got outplayed often! In a few games those numbers listed weren’t even the best players on the field.

Agreed! The real SC game was Springfield and Henry. The ball bounced Page’s way. They win it all this year!

That defense must be legit! 97 points thru 12 games is crazy. They played a couple of traditionally good teams along the way as well. Should be a really good football game. I will be watching from West Knox in the comforts of my home.
