  1. A lot of depth this year. What they lose in starters that are seniors. 1 of 2 safeties 1 of 2 cornerbacks 3 of 4 linebackers, one being leading tackler 2 years in a row 2 of 3 defensive linemen 2 of 5 offensive lineman 2 of 3 Receivers 1 of 1 Running Back, back to back 1,000 yd rusher 12 of 22 starters were seniors. One of the best senior classes in recent years in terms of leadership. A lot of bright days ahead for Maryville with 10 returning starters but some big shoes to fill for some of those seniors.
  2. Is TT Hill playing, injured, suspended? haven’t heard anything on him- I know he gutted us last time Rebels played at Oakland
  3. -If'un Cyunts Hill down't git tha penaltee on thair laist drive inside Mairvul's 10, Mairvul iz beet.... penalty was on Maryville’s 25 yd line and it was on a first down. You make it sound like it was 4th and long and the penalty occurred. Penalty occurred on 1st down as previous two plays were complete passes for a 15 yds and a first down. Dumb penalty and play by SH and while it did help, it was not the reason Maryville marched 90 yds in under 2 mins (they went 75 on their own). Game is 48 mins and SH won 46 of those mins but not the last 2.
  4. 2019 I don’t much about Bearden- when was Bearden’s last state championship. I’ll hang up and listen to your comments…
  5. Fair points here GreyRider. Yup the first 3 looked very similar or maybe the same but I’m with ya they should have mixed it up, screen on 2 or 3 down, rolled qb out. 1st play got positive yards. 2 and 3 play=44 for Tornados went untouched, unblocked. I don’t care how big a back you have, a Michigan signee coming hard off edge, unblocked is gonna make tackle every time. The back you mention, if you don’t think he’s physical, need to check yo self. Believe he showed it on a screen decleating a defender that night, also put a DL out of the game vs Bearden on a hit at goaline. What you should be saying is why in rhino are they in Gun and not under center. OL has to get a lot better the next few weeks. Rest of season date is on shoulders of Oline and secondary
  6. Rebels 42-7 Game will be very similar to 1st round of playoffs when Rebels had 450 yds of offense. And current senior back gutted them with 200 yds of offense. Really don’t see the suspended player making any impact unless there are some injuries. Don’t see Murvl changing much especially when they are 5-0 without him. Saying goes you don’t fix something if it ain’t broke… But you will get to see him versus Hardin Valley, in the 2nd half when starters are out and the score is 50-0. I’d say you can see him tonight at West in the JV game.
  7. Bearden is 1-2 after losing to a 3A and a 4A team. But of course, injuries. Give me a break, but good news is you can’t lose this week.
  8. 27-14, Red Rebels of Maryville. West only scores by a KO return and a late TD in 4Q when Red Rebels starters sub out.
  9. Fair line. Confident Rebels can score 18. Equally confident the Rebels stingy defense will not let Bradley score, unless late in 4Q
  10. Rebels pitch 3rd shutout in a row and win 35-0. Running clock in 3rd quarter
  11. JJ spending the weekend recruiting replacements for the injured. serious question, didn’t watch the game vs Alcoa, but does Parrott win more games for Bearden at qb than the the all star Soph qb?
  12. I’m afraid you’ve got some bad intel. Not buying any of that garbage. Rebels by 50 tonight.
  13. Ok Einstein, name 1 player for Maryville that has made a difference to this years Maryville team, that was not on the team last year and transferred in? They have a d-lineman whose family moved from California and a kicker who moved from Idaho, but no players have moved in from another TN high school. Alcoa on the other hand, has at least 3 starting seniors that played for another high school team last year. Bradley has 2 extremely impactful senior transfers this season. Bearden has a slew of Knox Co transfers but the only Senior I know about didn't contribute much due to injuries.
  14. Two different teams playing for the rematch. BC has a lot of weapons on both sides of ball and could mix it up against Maryville. QB and RB #2 gutted Rebels defense with 246 yds rushing in last game, along with 210 yds passing. BC QB has a cannon but seems alot of their yards passing come from screens and short passes, making teams tackle them in open space which is tough to do. BC is different this time around as it looks like the lines have improved and their offensive playbook is much larger than Sep 1st. Maryville has a much different team, with recent adjustments to defensive scheme, adding a d-lineman in place of a LB and primarily running a 4 man front. QB5 has made a difference by making plays. O line has improved dramatically since the previous matchup-a change at LG along with having Right Tackle back, who is committed to Liberty, who did not play in the BC or West game. RB7 didn't play earlier in the year and I think he can make a difference. RB1 played well against BC last time and expect to see them utilize both backs. RB1 is close to 1,000 yds on season and RB7 is heading to Air Force, so you've got to respect both. Totally fine with Maryville being the underdawgs and they should be. BC has a lot of talent and coached well. They are having a fantastic season and I love the fan support that Bradley Central- great game atmosphere. If the players and coaches that board the 3 buses on Cedar St friday, believe they can win, they can do it. 200 yards- if Maryville can hit that number rushing, they will win. And they can do that if the O-line plays a solid game and average 5 yards per carry.
  15. 100% May be a stretch in my opinion. Appeared from my pov he is not there yet but i think he can be in a couple weeks. Agree, need to not rush it. Love having him back in pads but he's been leading on sidelines ever since his injury. Need Ladue 100% for 2nd round vs either Bradley or Bearden. And even then, I’d put 1 and 7 in the backfield, run a two back set. RB1 was a dawg last night- had 150y offense and 2 td's last night. Rebels playing best two games of year the last two weeks. Alot of momentum, peaking at right time. Strong performances in last two games from guys who will be coming back next year-QB5, RB1, LB24. Future is bright for Rebels. Disappointed in Alcoa fans, looking for excuses instead of just admitting they got outcoached and outplayed. Rebels wanted it more. I pull for Alcoa in the playoffs, always have because Blount Co and respect for program. Alcoa fans on here now make me want to pull against the program, pitiful.
  16. Rebels 45 Mountaineers 2 Bad snap deep in Rebel territory which results in a safety for Heritage.
  17. Don't believe this in the slightest. I suppose your reasoning of this rumor is so they have to forfeit 2 games in region? And even if someone files an official complaint, I do not see TSSAA doing a darn thing about it. Pretty sure TSSAA won't drop what they are doing and immediately investigate this. It will received and reviewed sometime in the next couple months.
  18. Be nice to have a summary since most cannot read it due to subscription...
  19. Rule it a tie for both teams or play the game tomorrow. No contest- give me a break, that is every kid gets a trophy crap. I would have to think G-ville would have been pushing to finish the game or find a way to play this weekend,
  20. Should be interesting to see if West's 2-3 ballers can make plays. #2 and #44 are for real, very good players. Verdict still out on #1. Last years Rebels were one of the best in the entire state (public schools), along with Oakland and Alcoa. Excellent coaching staff and program at West. Not many believe Maryville is good enough to win, including some of their own fan base. But, doesn't matter as long as the ones wearing black helmets tonight, believe it. Game is won up front tonight, West will need big plays to win. Maryville will need to control the line of scrimmage and rush it 30-35 times in order to win.
