I'm sure there are a plenty of success stories, I'm not denying that. It's just very unfortunate that there is an overwhelming amount of negative attached to that school that we never hear it. I personally don't believe it is Howard's fault in general though. I think they are facing the repercussions of the surrounding community, lack of parent involvement, funding, etc. And this all stems from the elementary grades on up. The schools that feed into Howard are problems in itself.

Let's be honest, that school isn't a good destination for anyone serious about a lot of things let alone athletics.

Sequoyah ended its losing streak tonight after whooping tellico with a 50 spot. looked like it was gonna be the usual with tellico opening the kickoff with a td, then scoring again going up 2 scores, but Sequoyah scored, then didn’t stop scoring. happy for them to finally experience a win, especially the seniors.

100% this, similar to basketball season when games start running behind, you know as a player to start being more aggressive because you can get away with more.

Heard Rhea is doing morning practices before school, even on gamedays. 8 pm start makes for a long day for those boys.

Losing streak going on 5 years will do that to a program, also just the student population, a lot of kids who work on the farm or work to support the family. Athletics not a priority in Madisonville.

After last years lousy season (albeit a gauntlet of a schedule) Rhea starts off strong with a 3 td night for Davis I imagine. Special teams and defense are the areas of concern for the Eagles.

I think the Chiefs have a shot at the W against Tellico, Howard, or maybe Hixson. The ones didn't look to bad in the jamboree, but they have 0 depth. We will see, pulling for some of the seniors.

Dang that is messed up. Small county people ruining lives just because parents aren't getting their way. Ridiculous, no loyalty or respect for hardworking individuals. Why would anyone want to take that job now?
