  1. I'll say college football is definitely my favorite. 1. Star power and big ole athletic boys in the power 5 teams. nothing like watching future NFL players duke it out. mighty specimens. 2. community feel 3. the players are compensated for their work 4. NIL and the transfer portal is making teams have greater parity. no longer does one team have like 5 strings of depth better than a team's 1st string. 5. more creative offenses and defenses. 6. can watch a live stream of it for free on YouTube
  2. Yep. Looked more like some good ole home cooking to me. We will get it fixed.
  3. Yea the region 1 5A and 6A teams are massive disappointments.
  4. I remember DB beat Mo West 59-14 in 2020, and it still took them forever to put backups in.
  5. Glad he will get a great education although he probably gonna experience a lot of 1-11 type seasons there.
  6. Elizabethton secondary and lines looking great. Now just hold onto the ball.
  7. Elizabethton wins 45-0. But hey, at least your band will sound good.
  8. The one that won multiple state championships. You don't win state with a good ole boy system. End of story.
  9. Bearden easily. Farragut hasn't looked great this year, and Bearden seems to be building something special.
  10. Elizabethton doesn't have a good ole boy system. I can understand complaints about only DB(or really only one school), but any time I see complaints about two different schools... cmon.
  11. Yes. You sometimes have unathletic and small jimmys and joes going against future P5 starters. They need to wear their protection.
  12. Does seem to be a big issue. ETSU and MTSU not a place I'd want to send my kids. It ain't just sports. TBR in general doesn't seem to know much about anything.
  13. Yea I was wondering if Jeff County could maybe pull an upset or two in the playoffs, but then I looked at Region 2's top four. Crazy how different the two regions are. One has three of its four teams who make it a year who probably don't even deserve to be there. The other probably has five or six that could make the playoffs every year.
  14. I was thinking about this the other day, and I think the explanation might be simple. TN does not want to be responsible for Jimmys and Joes getting hurt. In the high school level, especially in the lower classifications and even good ole boy systems in the larger classifications, you will sometimes have unathletic and small kids going against future P5 starters which can be a recipe for disaster if they aren't wearing their equipment properly. Whereas if you're talking D1 football, every player on the field meets a certain threshold of athleticism and size for it to be a non issue. Now, if D2 teams were to play the Georgias of the world it'd probably be a different story.
  15. Nah just sick of people hyping up DB just to lose in the playoffs every year. No one is ragging on the players, only the program. Some of us just wish more programs took winning titles seriously in region 1.
  16. Yep wish people would quit hating on kids transferring. Seen so many good players who had potential to go D3, D2, or FCS who never get the chance because they stick to a program that aint the right fit for em. FBS level recruits it doesn't really matter they'll get there anyways.
  17. Maybe one day DB's athletic department will realize state championship banners are the best stadium decorations you can get.
  18. I don't think anyone will challenge us or GHS for the crown, but I'm interested to see who takes third between Sullivan east and Northview academy.
  19. If I had to guess it's because Inner City teams are notoriously undisciplined and poorly coached. As much crap as I give R1 programs, ADs, and coaching staffs it's nothing compared to some of the crappy inner city ones I've seen. They can have multiple D1 recruits and still suck.
  20. A team with "devils" in their name that gets two games robbed by weather. Not saying there's a link, but maybe they should change their name haha.
  21. So many good ones but for football the longest yard, the waterboy and Remembers the Titans are timeless picks. Happy Gilmore is prolly the only good golfing movie in existence. Goon is an underrated hockey movie. I don't really care about weak minded sports like baseball or basketball, so I couldn't tell ya. Racing has several good ones too, but I think Ima go with Talidega nights.
