HTV, How have you been? Work has me tied down, so I haven't beem writing as much as usual. I know when Coach Duncan was at Powell, he would go out and practice a week in shorts, then go 2 weeks in pads with a scrimmage or two. Now don't say that didn't happen 'cause I would watch baseball then come back two weeks later for the tournament or region playoffs and they would still be gettin' it. Have the rules changed over the last 5-6 years or was there a way to "get" around the rule?

Thought D-B just finished spring practice? Haven't seen the Debils out on the practice field on my home.

Where is O'kicker going to school next year?

Maryville and others have spring practice in February. What difference does 1 month make? If you have a bunch of spring sport athletes, then it makes sense to have it before spring sports start. When is the starting date for spring sports anyway?

I would be willing to wager a small (very small) amount that Rankin does NOT leave Alcoa for Science Hill. You say he puts out his resume every year. That may or may not be true - what is prolly true is that schools contact him just like they do GQ to see if he/they have an interest in changing job sites. Sometimes they have an interest sometimes they don't. Just because you look at a job doesn't necessarily mean you are interested in that job. Very similar to a coach saying, "I'm not going to be the U of Ala football coach then two weeks later getting a guaranteed contract of $32 million for 8 years.

Strong rumor is that Flatt contacted MC, then turned the job down when offered. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Has anybody seen the All-American HS team that has just come out today. What a crock of bull. Only 2 players selected from Tennessee. Who are these people that are charge of selecting this All-American squad, what do they know? All they should have done is get on CoachT and this thread to find out who should have made this unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many coaches do they have? I thought they had a limit on volunteer coaches. How can they have all of these coaches and other schools only have 5-6?

2 problems: (1) no punter, (2) select 8 other players, since Alcoa & Maryville ain't & have ever been in the KIL or the KFL. K=Knoxville

Prolly the players dad's. No seriously, the coaches usually grade the film.

HTV, Congrats to 2 Emory Road boys for making the team. Since your only the messenger, how about telling Taft that the coaches name is Matt not Marty. I don't know who Marty Lowe is or if he is real person, but if he is I bet he doesn't act like your buddy Matt Lowe.

PTMUPS, When does the AP All-State team come out?

If they put Fulton, Catholic, AC in our region, that sure makes it tougher to make the playoffs. Iguess Seymour could go in region 2 or they could put them in with the rest and have an 11 team region. Then we would have to divide up and have two region 3-4A. Hey we could play a championship game before the playoffs begin. Don't know if that is legal or not. Someone shed some light!

IMPO Coach Quarles will NOT, I repeat NOT be named the head football coach at ETSU. He does not even want to think about it. When we all talk about his family, his golf, his downtime from the season, he would be absolutely crazy to even consider going to coach at any college. He would be much better off coaching at Brentwood Academy or Science Hill than he would at ETSU. Now, I didn't say he couldn't do it, I just said he would be crazy to do it.

oldchsman, The associated press does not honor an All-State team any longer. The TSWA does and that team should be out before Christmas.

Prolly headed back to ACHS to work for Curr. They can get the players from Camp. Co back n to And. co.
