  1. I agree. There is no doubt that this team is talented and should win their district and have a good shot at region as long as they can beat Haywood. However, even if they win their region, their reward is playing the second best team in Memphis. I have no idea who that is right now but I guarentee it will not be a walk in the park. The key is win the region so you don't have to go to Memphis, beat the second best team in Memphis on your home floor, pray that you don't get put in the same bracket with BTW and Liberty, and then IF you meet them in the championship, play the game of your life. Being an alum of DC, there is no one that is pulling for them harder than I am but I just think that it is a little bit of a long shot to be making room in the trophy case. The team with Fisk, Crittendon(C.J.'s brother), Powell, Johnson, and Morris was better than this year's squad and they still didn't come away with the crown. Good luck to the Choctaws and I hope to see yall at state.
  2. I am a DC alum and have only got to watch them once when I was home for winter break against Dyersburg. They seem to be doing great in district, but what are the top teams in the region. I was looking at their region and it seems that Haywood is the best team in the other district. If anyone could help, thanks.
  3. Is Ahmad Galloway still in the NFL? I am an Alabama fan and really enjoyed watching him in college.
  4. Trenton did it last year in A.
  5. Actually the losing team in the final game usually wins it.
  6. The state tournaments is all about who shows up and plays for the week. I beleive that Humbolt was probably the best team, but that is only based on the fact they had already defeated UC three times this year. The bottom line is that Grace showed up to play and Humbolt didn't.
  7. I think that whenever you get refs from different regions together it is going to be an inconsistent called game. Games are played differently in each region where West Tennessee plays a faster, more aggressive game than East Tennessee teams. Apparently East and Middle Tennessee refs like to call charges because I saw more charges called in this tournament than I have in my whole life.
  8. I thought that the other two people were bashing Sisco and I couldn't understand why they would hate on someone that just won a gold ball for their team.
  9. Carter is a stud. Hit the weights a little bit and he will be accepting many phone calls from D-1 coaches.
  10. This is how all championships should end. I told the man beside me after the Libery vs. Mitchell game that "It just doesn't get any better than this." I was wrong. \
  11. That game was intense and really showcased some great talent. I only wish Sampson would have been named to the All-Tournament Team.
  12. They used to actually have a guy that manned the camera on the flat screens, but now you only get to watch the far end. It takes away from the game not getting to sip on a Coke and eat a hamburger, but my advice would be to go during halftime or just sneak it in like 90% of the people do. About the team, that was just a good bunch that came out at the same time. You can't really expect a team to compete year after year. You can't go out and recruit players like colleges do and can only hope the pieces fall into place. That team from a few years ago just so happen to get a group of talent all at once. Hopkins and Starks did a great job with those teams with two straight tournament experiences but with a lack of experience in the first game(and terrible shooting) lost and the next year getting beat by a talented team led by Derrick Byars. Froedden is a good coach and an even better person. He wants to win, but wants even more a future for his players. I think that with a more experienced team, I believe this years team started 2 sophmores, 2 juniors, and one freshmen(Dont hold me to that). Ledbetter is a good shooter, C.J., Smith, and the rest of the team are only going to get better and if he is getting the transfers and freshmen like they are saying, this team should be competing for a district title and maybe more next year or the year after. Patience is a virtue my friend. And WesCharge is kinda right. I mean I personally DC was the second best team in the state that year, but we don't have the silver ball in the trophy case. But "several teams" is a little harsh? Maybe a couple, but not several.
  13. I get that feeling up top but I usually sat close to the floor. Most gyms I notice it being dark except for a few exceptions.
  14. I agree. It was great watching games in there for three years. I wish they would allow drinks and food in there, but I guess thats why they have the plasma TV's. P.S. I like the Vandy Sig.
  15. Is there any other teams playing in this tournamnet or is it strictly a Bolivar vs. Brentwood event?
  16. If the sun is shining and there is no snow on the ground, I would say he is golfing.
  17. I have 5 tickets to watch the Belmont Tournament. I bought them off ticketmaster, but then a scheduling error has forced me to sell the tickets. The tickets said Row A, Sec 155 so I think they are pretty good seats. If you are interested just reply to this thread and we can swap e-mails.
  18. That is a big shocker because I could have sworn that I heard on the radio that Dyersburg won. South Side's record as well as Dyersburg's record can be misleading though. Still I thought Dyersburg should have walked away with the win.
  19. Is it at the Fed-Ex Forum or at the Mid-South Coliseum? Mitchell's schedule has it at the Mid-South, but Hamilton has it at Fed-Ex. Also, how are the two out of state teams?
  20. I was wondering if this game was part of a tournament or if it was a regular game on a neutral site.
  21. How is the seating done? Is it just first come, first serve?
  22. Doesn't Mitchell play Bolilvar this year at Belmont University? I figured that this would be a good game to watch with Young, Chism, and Kemp all playing.
