  1. Not sure how many loses they have had...id guess somwhere around 180. I know they won 2 state championships in 1981 in 1a and in 1996 in 2a against goodpasture. They have runner up finishes in 1997 and 2005. The pass 10 years they have played in 4 state championships as they play this saturday for one. They produced some great players like all americans Billy Arbo and Chip Howard both of whom played for Tennessee. They also have a heisman trophy finalist and starting NFL QB in Chad Pennington. They produce some pretty good talent over the years and send players to D1 football every year.
  2. Also im having trouble following the sequence of games you have listed... 1. PJP2 split with Webb 33-34, 24-16 2. Powell did not play bearden
  3. All i was doing with the schedule comparisons was showing you that PJP2 plays a tough schedule. Infact i would say even a tougher scheadule then the best 5a team in the state acording to ImaOwl. So somone from Ootlewah can not say that Golden did not play against good competition. Father Ryan, Goodpasture, ECS, MBA, and Webb are good teams if you like it or not. If Ootlewah played any of thoes teams it would be there hardest game of the year thus far. In no way am i saying that Ootlewah is not a real good team but for some reason people seem to think just because they have more students attending there school they have to be the better team.
  4. Who will win this years state championship?
  5. Ooltewah is having a good year but i would bet PJP2 would be 12-0 with Ooltewah's schedule. The toughest games Ootlewah played was Farragut and Cookville. Webb, PJP2, ECS, and maybe even harding Academy would have beaten thoes teams this year. I say this with confidence seeing all these teams play including farragut. Cookville, one of Ootlewah's closest games, lost to Franklin Co who PJP2 beat by 4 touchdowns. Farragut, the best team Ootlewah played this year is not better than Webb. Farragut lost to Powell who Webbs beaten the past 4 years. These are just a few examples that help prove that PJP plays a tough schedule. If Ottlewah played PJP2 schedule they could possibly loose to Father Ryan, Goodpasture, ECS, MBA, and Webb. Harding Academy is no easy win either. So saying that Ootlewah could be 6-4, 7-3 is not a bogus statement. Bottom line Golden played againsts some of the best teams in the state regardless of school size
  6. Predictions? Webb carries lots of momentum into the playoffs after defeating ECS 36-13 in the last game of the regular season. Can Webb stop not only golden but now his little brother. Golden's little brother was one of the biggest reasons they won the regular season contest. These two schools have met 5 times in the past 3 years and this will be the 6th. Webb holds the advantage 3-2 and 4-2 if you count PJP first year of football.
  7. It is this way because the tssaa kicked private schools out and into D2. This is what they have to work with. Saying that the teams in the playoffs are quality teams.
  8. No i promise they did not rest there starters....#10, 6, 8, 5, and 2 all played the entire game.
  9. ECS did not look like a 9-0 football team...i think their wins over mus and CBHS were a little misleading. Their team last year was much better than what this years team looked like tonight. The biggest difference was that their D last year was phenominal. The rain hurt their offense a lot, esp. the Qb. Webb's offense has a new dimension with the running qb like beeler. If i am ECS i just hope it doesnt rain when they play next. If its dry im sure there O is totaly different but a 23 point loss to webb makes this state championship wide open. Shoot anything can happen like 9 turnovers and a 3 yard punt in last years state championship game for webb.
  10. The call was on beeler...I was standing there on the ten yard line the ref standing there looking at hartmen and beeler who called the touchdown threw the flag...there is no debate for that.
  11. If there wasnt a 15 yard penalty webb was going to go for 2... I was on the 10 yard line watching the webb sidline and they were setting up for a 2 pt conversion play... So that penalty had huge implications on the game.
  12. Anyone like it better when this was the last game of the season?...i did Next year if at all possible they sould make this game #10 again
  13. Anyone like it better when this was the last game of the season?...i did Next year if at all possible they sould make this game #10 again
  14. Catholic pulled out tight wins the past 2 years...a missed extra point cost webb last year and a mircle fumble by catholic's fullback which was then picked up and ran for 50 yards for a td as time expired in 2004 when the main goal was to run the clock out and send it into OT at the beginning of the play. In 2006 i think Catholic is a much stronger team this year than webb and will win. My guess is it will be tight in the beginning and then cathoic will pull away in the end. Webb had its opportunity to win the past 2 years and it will be a few more until the athelets in middle school move up until they will have that chance again
  15. Looks like Webb will be dooing the most traveling in D2 being the only team from Knoxville
  16. Webb will be joining d2AAA or soon to be D2aa... and im sure PJP2, BGA, and Ensworth will be there too Its interesting to note that even though the Big Ten has 11 teams they stick with the number 10.. Yet im not sure with more than likely 13 or 14 teams next year that super 7 would work .... i like Tennessee superprep conference
  17. The benefits of Webb moving to D1(AAA) is that they dont have to play McCallie, Baylor, MBA, and BA every year....They would loose anyone on scholarship, but Webb doesnt have but maybe 2 players on scholarship...If they go to D2AA they have to go out and get payers or they will get beat bad...The talent at Webb is falling off pretty fast.
  18. Halls doesnt schedule private schools because they cant beat private schools....Webb, a private school, would of beaten halls by 3 touchdowns each of the past two years...
  19. Webb will either move to D1AAA or stay D2AA...i bet they stay in D2AA, but the administration out there better get players if they want to compete.....
  20. All i stated was that last year alone i think pjp2 would of had a tougher time than webb and ECS competing week in and week out with everyone besides father ryan in 2005 dIIAAA....Though in 2006 they probably will be able to compete in that division...we will just have to see. I hear it is almost set in stone that AA and AAA will combine in 2007, but we will have to wait..maybe they will only move up teams like Webb, ECS, PJP2, Ensworth, and BGA and make the others join A
  21. Did Powell lose WR#5 from last years team?? i thought he was one of their better players
  22. Their were 14 seniors, but webb has alot of people go both ways and i mean 8 senoirs started on offense and 8 seniors started on defense...and like 5 or so of thoes 14 senoirs played both ways....2 senoirs did not start and ya.....i heard from the webb coach that D2 will be combining AA and AAA....and with the players coming up there is no way that webb can compete with all of them....last year alone only ECS, Webb, and PJP2 could possibly compete and win some games with the elite 8..Mostly just ECS and webb could of played with the elite 8...PJP2 needs a litle more time
  23. Webb has to replace 14 seniors off the state runner-up team which included 8 defensive starters and 8 offensive starters and ...so it will be tough, but the do have a good core 07 senoir class returning with some good players...They also have some telented 08 junior runningbacks comming up. They cant afford to lose anybody because they have little to no depth. After this year comming up, Webb will begin to slip off greatly unless the administration out there starts to care about winning in sports and starts letting in football players. plus in 08 i hear D-2 will combine all the leagues and webb will have to play year in and year out with McCallie, Baylor, MBA, BA, and the rest of the super 7....and if webb doesnt start letting in players they will get killd by 70.
  24. Jared smith of webb was a 2x 152 state runner-up as a sophmore and junior. His senior year two weeks before the state tournament he broke his ankle in a dual match and could not compete. As a sophmore he lost to Joey Gote of father ryan in the finals and as a junior he lost to J.T. Hagen of McCallie and they were two really good wrestlers to say the least.
