  1. My sincere apologies to the "Bean" family. I understand a brother's love and need to defend thier own.
  2. Sounds to me like you are second guessing the STAFF. I didn't see them run the wrong routes, miss tackles or drop passes. I saw a game where players decided the outcome. If you do not agree with the STAFF's decisions maybe you should retire from the sport completely and make room for someone who has a little faith. You did get ran down from behind but I suppose that was the coaches fault? I hope the coaches see your post and appreciate it for what it is. One lose does not end the season but one back biting player can upset a whole team.
  3. Expect a hard fought game. SC seldom makes the same mistakes twice. TC has a great history and brings a ton of fans to support them. I hope SC fills the stadium with the loudest people in town. Their support will be a KEY. Be LOUD and PROUD.
  4. This is great. 10 pages and it's only Monday. When you stew it all down the players still have the last say in who wins or loses. We can talk, Coaches can worry but the kids take the field. I hope everyone sits back and enjoys one of the truly great American experiences.
  5. Playing Dekalb County will always remind me of Bill Landreth. Big D had a sack full of game balls given to him after each win vs. the Tigers. If memory serves Big D coached there years ago and found out about his dismissal early one morning while shaving for work. It seemed the local radio station knew before he did. Since then Big D always loved to beat Dekalb and we always tried alittle harder that week out of our love for him. God rest his soul. We sure do miss Big D.
  6. Macon County had one last year. Might check with Junior High Coach there.
  7. Coach Anderson left SCMS as Head Football Caoch to pursue a dream to be a Principle and go back to school. Life as a Coach left little time to do much else. Richard is one of the finest men I have ever worked with and I wish him luck. As for the 0-10 season, I have lived through one or two myself. NOT alot of fun. It is a team game win or lose.
  8. I have know this man for a few years and respect him greatly. He use to know the Veer better than anyone. Good luck to a good friend.
  9. Thier Junior High team had some really good talent this year. The Harp kid in the back field was a load to bring down. This leads me to believe they have talent coming up.
  10. I am most impressed with the way the girls play D. Even in thier loses the Owlettes have played much better than I have seen in years. I am proud of all of them. Now win!
  11. I don't care what he did before, during or after the game. He is a young coach who loves to win. He gets completely involved in the game and I think that is great. Coach has been a good thing for a program which was on the down slid. He gives the team and fans a shoot of emotion and along with Collin's help I think they will win and win big one day. I know at Gville someone yelled "Sit down fatboy". I just hope Coach keeps having fun.
  12. We also must count the "game" as one of our blessings. Each day is a gift from above whether it be spent in the fieldhouse lifting weights or on a 100 degree practice field. No one is promised tomorrow so I have learned to love every day I have had so far.

    just curious

I have been involved as a player, coach, game management and PA announcer for the past 30 seasons. Of course I think my team is the best. I lived through 0-10 and one of the longest losing streaks ever to get to this year's 11-2 team. I am attached to my team and they will always be no#1 in my book.
  14. He musta had to put down the "Basketball for Dummies" first.
  15. Ain't what I heard. I heard Coach D tried to dunk by jumping off Collins back and hung his finger in the net coming down. Should have used something with more spring, I guess.
  16. I was surprised to see the coach's son go in so early!! Shouldn't coaches be in it for the team and not there family. Shame on you, Is that how they do it in Carthage Now? I heard his other two boys may play alittle against the Tigers. Is the least one in the fourth grade maybe?
  17. Evil Republican. Don't know where they heard that.
  18. Seemed like Portland had a large crowd than SC Friday night. Considering the game I think it was the smallest crowd we have had all year. I expected more but it was a nasty night.
  19. I would assume the name is voted on by the school board in that county. Each section should be equally represented thus it would be a fair vote. I am not sure how SCHS became the "county named school". I was always a Carthage Owl and still am.
  20. You might want to lay off the personal remarks concerning the Queen.

    coach t????

He was but for what is still in doubt. Appeal?
  22. There's no problem. We have two good QBs at SC, both of which I would trust to run our offense. Dusty is a quality athlete coming from a middle school program were he lead a 7-0 team.
  23. I agree about the prices. A family of 4 would have to shell out nearly 50 bucks for tickets, program and eats for one night of high school football not counting the ride in for an away team (3 hours for our guesses last night). I wonder if $7.00 is nessecery along with $3.00 for a plain program. While I am at it, does the band HAVE to play while the ball is in play? It is near impossible to even hear the whistle blow to end a play. WV's band was great, one of the best I have ever heard at our place but there is a time and place for everthing.
