  1. Pickett County Clarkrange Moore County Forrest (could be Huntland...whoever finishes second in district tournament) South Greene Meigs County Dresden Gleason That would be my prediction of who the 8 will be this year...Hopefully Pickett and SG can end up on opposite sides of the bracket....would love to see a Clarkrange and SG matchup in the semis and winner play PC but...i am a little biased! Good luck to all the teams as trophy time nears...
  2. As a district 7 guy, I believe your district will send two teams to state this year as well. My prediction is gonna be Moore County for sure and either Forrest or Huntland. I am gonna say Forrest. My prediction for the 8: Pickett County Clarkrange Moore County Forrest (could be Huntland...whoever finishes second in district tournament) South Greene Meigs County Dresden Gleason
  3. Im certain that the MVP will be from Clarkrange or Pickett. There really is no way around it. The fact that Pickett blistered Jackson once and probably should have twice would make it a travesty for that team to have the MVP on it. Not saying it is impossible, but highly unlikely in my eyes. As for who will get it, my money would be on Meadows because when she brings it, she has 30. However, there are those few nights where she just didn't bring it (like Jackson the other night). If she were to have another of those that might hurt her...who knows. My personal opinion is Pritchett. If most anyone were doing a fantasy draft to build their team around out of this district, she would be the #1 pick. Why? Because she does a wide variety of things. Averages right at a double double with points and rebounds on a balanced team (she could score a lotttttttt more, but she doesn't have to and does a great job of getting her teammates involved). She averages probably 3-4 steals and assists per game, defends, and leads her team by the EXAMPLE that she is on and off the basketball floor. But, yall know what they say about opinions....guess we will see how this thing shakes out between now and next Tuesday!
  4. How will the district end up going into the tourney? 1. Upperman Will Macon or Smith end up as the 2? Will LA end up as the 4 or will someone else sneak into that spot as LA sputters toward the end of the year? York and Dekalb both appear dangerous for someone as go home district tournament games loom......
  5. How does everyone see this district finishing up? Pickett and Clarkrange play Tuesday night, and assuming Pickett doesn't lose to Clay County on Friday night, the Range/PC game will be for first in the district. How does everyone see 3rd and 4th going? Clay still has the toughest slate left with Pickett and Jackson (at Jackson). Clay and Jackson game would determine third place, right?
  6. 7A: Kara Meadows- MTSU (Clarkrange), Courtney Pritchett (Pickett), Taylor Strong (Clay), Kyleigh Heady (Jackson Co.), Abbi Buck- Trevecca (Pickett), Hannah Garrett- TN Tech (Clarkrange), Jada Kerr (Clay), Kaitlyn Pippin (Jackson) 8AA: Akeira Levy- Western Kentucky (Upperman), Mikala Brown (LA), Harli Smith (York), Lexi Smith (York), Jaci Baltimore (LA), Keeley Carter (Macon Co.), Alyssa West (Smith Co.)
  7. Actually he was correct. It is 4 year cycles starting with the 2017-2018 season. (2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21).
  8. These three are clear cut nominees and I would include two more on the list to make a top 5 list of candidates. Courtney Pritchett from Pickett County- Jr. Averaging 21 ppg. in the TSSAA state tournament the last two years (as a freshman and sophomore against both years State Champions). Her numbers won't line up point for point with some of the others, but she does it all. Leads a 1 loss team in points and rebounds, and has not played in very many 4th quarters this year. A big game player in the true sense of the word. The other one I would throw in there is Ali Golden from Huntland. She's a sniper and leading a team that very well could make a state tournament run as well. I don't have all her stats but would bet they will line up with the best in the state.
  9. Just for the record, Buck hasn't "shot her team out of it" yet this season... Expecting a good one tonight. I will be the first to go on the record with a score. Game close at half, Pickett wins a good game by 14.
  10. Buck had 10 at half. Ended with 10. Score at the half was PC 50, Clay County 26. Final score was 86-51. That is a fact. PC had less than 10 turnovers for the entire game and turned them over almost 25 times....PC did not have a single starter in the game with 5 minutes to play in the 4th...the game film don't lie my friend. Running clock the last 3-5 minutes as well (which meant PC lead was over 35 by that point). Go find someone that has a player on either team and watch it again...sure sounds like you need to. The Clay County and Clarkrange game was not a fluke. Pickett can turn people over and Clarkrange didn't turn Clay over. That is why the score was similar. My bet is that the Jackson/Clay and the Clay/Clarkrange scores will all be close for the most part from here on out. One statement that you made that is ever remotely close to accurate is that Pickett could lose to Clarkrange on Friday night. Clarkrange is a very good team and I would say (as I did say earlier) that Pickett and Clarkrange may have Tennessee's Girls Game of the Night statewide. Start resting those eyes now so maybe you can catch more of the game next time around my friend.
  11. Not really sure what that last comment there means...Buck and Pritchett both had their points in the first half and by half time the game was well in hand. No reason to go overdo or show anything in the second half of a game that was almost 30 at the half... Not impressed by all the talk? Not sure where the talk is coming from, and you must be someone that is pretty hard to impress...I mean the same Clay County team led Clarkrange last week for almost the entirety of the game before losing a close one and Clay was NEVER in the game last night...must be pretty tough to impress. That being said, Clay County is getting better and will get tougher to handle with each passing game. They may be a dark horse come tournament time!
  12. District Standings as they stand right now: 1. Clay Co. 2-0 2. Clarkrange 2-1 3. Monterey 2-1 4. Jackson Co. 1-2 5. Pickett Co. 0-3 Friday night has a couple matchups that could shake up the district. Pickett travels to Clarkrange and Clay County plays Monterey! How does everyone see it playing out?
  13. District standings as they stand currently: 1-2 PC and Clarkrange at 3-0 3. Jackson Co. 1-2 4. Clay County 0-2 5. Monterey 0-3 Huge showdown looming Friday night to decide the front runner in this district!! Jackson County and Clay County also square off Tuesday night for the first time and that should give an early indication of how those two will match up with each other. I see Jackson/Clay being a tight game and Clarkrange/Pickett on Friday night could possibly be the best high school girls matchup in the state on that night!!
  14. Likewise I thought the LA girls made a statement as well! They played well and put themselves in position to win! I think the LA season going forward is gonna drastically improve. Good luck yo hogeye the rest of the way.
  15. It is a HUGE rivalry between PC and LA! I would fully expect a rivalry atmosphere tonight! Could be one of the best high school atmospheres in the state tonight with it being the only game in the area!! Greatest atmosphere in sports is a packed high school gym! Good luck to both teams the rest of the way and may the best team win!
  16. I may be wrong but I don't believe either of them will be listed until their senior year is complete.
  17. Pickett at a Livingston academy rescheduled for Thursday night January 12.
  18. Clarkrange at Monterey rescheduled for tomorrow night. Pickett county at LA not yet rescheduled at this time.
  19. Very interesting that you should point that out. Hasn't been long ago that the good people on these boards talked up Clarkrange and Jackson County constantly. Sort of looking like some of you folks don't like it becoming a 3 man race (and quite possibly a 4 man race by the end of the year as Clay will be strong enough to beat anyone). And, as if a 3 or 4 man race isn't enough...PC might just be the best of the bunch...only time will tell.
  20. Well, one thing y'all know about for sure is losing at STONE....but, none of my business. Lets let those Buffs worry about Cookeville...
  21. Can't explain it to someone who refuses to believe facts. Coaches don't "walk by" if your team is marketed correctly. I'm not a tourney director but I can tell you that all 700 college coaches at battle of boro aren't after only the "elite 4%" if you think they are, you are bad wrong. College coaches come to high school gyms now to finish the recruiting process and that's the only reason. But, you probably know more than every aau organization, and every college coach about how to get kids to the next level, and how to develop talent. Clearly.
  22. You are WAYYYYYYYY wrong about most colleges not being at the exposure tournaments. It has gotten this thread way of topic, but the reality is these exposure tournaments are about the only place players are being recruited now. EVERY school in the country is at those tournaments. If you don't believe me, I can send you pictures of their coaches if you would like...it is FACT.
