  1. Antwan, What's the probable 1-4 for your region? I know 1 & 2. Del. Looks like 1. Trousdale, 2. Smith, 3. Livingston Academy, 4. Portland (see Livingston/Portland thread for standings).
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a York win over LA and a Port loss at Smith Co means PORTLAND goes home, right?? Here's your standings: Trousdale County 6-0, 9-0 Smith County 5-1, 8-1 Livingston Academy 5-1, 6-3 York 4-2, 7-2 Portland 4-2, 4-5 Macon County 3-3, 6-3 Upperman 2-4, 2-7 DeKalb County 1-5, 1-8 Jackson County 0-6, 2-7 Cannon County 0-6, 1-8 Portland lost to Livingston, but have beaten both York and Macon County, so a Livingston win over York just about locks up 4th for Portland. On the other hand, a York win could make it very interesting....
  3. The way I figure, GP is probably the best team in that region, and I don't see them beating Kingston or AE. Personally, I think Loudon would give them a good game. --Kemple Kingston had 3 injuries tonight; I'm not sure how serious, but 2 of the 3 (lineman & kicker/db/wr) were taken out by ambulance. As for where they stand competitively, Kingston's line play needs to improve infinitely to win a playoff game. The best they'll do is 1-1; they won't beat either Fulton or AC, no matter how many times they play - the talent gap is too wide.
  4. Don't know too much about GP, but I have a friend at work that is a Seymour fan, but he isn't too high on them this year. I'd like to see the Jackets avenge their 99 loss to Seymour!
  5. ...I'm sure KevB will correct me if I'm wrong... Gatlinburg Pittman 5-0, 7-2 Seymour 4-1, 6-3 Sullivan North 4-2, 6-3 Rutledge 2-3, 5-4 Pigeon Forge 2-3, 3-5 Union County 1-4, 2-7 Claiborne County 1-5, 5-5 GP/Seymour winner is 1st (will host Kingston/AE loser) GP/Seymour loser is 2nd (will host Kingston/AE winner) North plays Rutledge and Pigeon plays Union. If Rutledge beats North, Rutledge is 3rd (at Anderson County) and North is 4th (at Fulton). If North beats Rutledge, North is 3rd and Pigeon is 4th.
  6. Thanks to both of you. I should have looked at tssaa.org before asking that! Looks like its Seymour/GP for the title again.
  7. Does anyone have this score?
  8. Fulton whipped Kingston on the line of scrimmage en route to winning this game. Fulton is big and fast. Fulton's only weakness I can see is that they make some mental mistakes, especially penalties, and they had a couple of crucial turnovers that kept this game closer than it could have been.

    Aydelott WINS

Who the heck is Ron Aydelott?
  10. My personal conviction is that this split was not for the better. I believe we have weakened competition and cheapened championships in every classification. I don't think further separation and isolation will accomplish the purpose of crowning a "true champion." I am not sure I completely agree with everything that you have said elsewhere in this post, but this part is completely true.
  11. You are new, aren't you? I'm one of the resident Kingston Yellow Jacket fans, but I generally support the other Roane County schools, too, as well as Rhea County and I have a few friends from Bell County and Middlesboro, but I don't follow those teams closely.

One more thing for Tank to put in his book, I guess. It makes sense in that it's easy to follow, but it also makes it possible for a 10-0 team to travel to a 7-3 team and such. In 1993 Kingston, a 1 seed, traveled to McMinn Central, a 3 seed in the state semis.
  13. Kingston beat Rockwood who is now 5-3 and Oliver Springs who is now 4-4. Kingston lost to 7-1 Anderson County. I know. Kingston's opponents records: Harriman 0-8 Gibbs 3-5 Rockwood 5-3 Scott 1-7 Oliver Springs 4-4 Anderson County 7-1 Lenoir City 2-6 Loudon 3-5 Fulton 8-0 Austin East 5-2 I don't think they've proven they're a top 10 team.
  14. Goosevol has said that TSSAA has confirmed that overall record will decide the highest of the three, but head-to-head would determine the next spot. I don't understand that, it makes no sense to do it that way. His scenario is slightly different than yours, in that, in his scenario there are 3 teams competing for 2 spots. In the past, it has been that overall record determines all 3 spots, and only if 2 teams have identical overall records does head-to-head come back into play. http://www.tssaa.org/Handbook/football.pdf

Pujo, region 1/2 travels to region 3/4 and region 5/6 travels to region 7/8 this year. This year the H runs on the bottom line of the bracket in rounds 3 & 4. You guys would have to come off Roan Mtn. Records do not matter unless you are playing a team from your own region. The top line gets the H in odd years, the bottom line gets it in even years. 16. Trousdale has to be higher than #4, and I still haven't seen proof (that is, beating or staying close to the big 3) that Kingston belongs in the top 10. I'm pretty sure Kingston has only beaten 1 or 2 teams with a winning record.
  17. East Tennessee Education Association. ET schools are out for their meeting, so some schools play on Thursday.
  18. I think DII has to be a part of this discussion, one way or the other, especially if you're like me and insist that 8 state champions in football is too many, especially when there are less than 10 teams in certain classifications.

    Discipline IS.....

...saying "no!" that spoiled brat 3-year old that lives inside oneself.
  20. Moving back east would kind of make it hard to go to MTSU, wouldn't it?
  21. OS also dropped Boyd-Buchanan--don't know whose decision it was actually, but OS did pick up cross county rival Midway out of that deal. Looks like everybody in Roane will now play except RCHS/Midway.
  22. I also that Anderson County and Oak Ridge did not renew their 2yr contract. As to whom each team will pick up, I have no idea Don't know about AC, but Oak Ridge picks up Dobyns-Bennett.
  23. If Trousdale, Smith, & Portland all win this week, does that more or less mean that it will shake out this way: Trousdale 1 Smith/Portland winner 2 Smith/Portland loser 3 LA/York winner 4? Am I missing anything? Can Macon or Upperman get back into the mix? [Edited by swamp on 10-23-02 1:03P]
  24. Thanks. That takes all the fun out of trying to figure it out, though...
