  1. Considering that Cash avoided Marchetti last year, I'm sure the same will happen again. It's also not the first time BA avoided wrestling people. In the same match against Ryan last year, not only did Cash avoid Marchetti but they also "forfeited" 215 so they could keep the top seed over Ryan's 215. although it didn't matter since Ryan's 215 went on to win in the finals, but what kind of lessons are you teaching your wrestlers and young men by saying 'hey its ok to sit this one out since you might lose and we don't want to risk losing your number one seed.' That's ridiculous and doesn't belong in wrestling.
  2. ?????.......Maybe you should just stick to basketball board when the season starts.
  3. First off, In Hoc is a wheaties man not cornflakes. Secondly, I don't think he was "disparaging" D-I wreslting, but rather simply making a comparison to MBA's program getting back on track. AND i'm also sure he was referring to the number of DI teams that qualify for state duals- not the individual tournament where many teams only qualify one two or three wrestlers- which would bring the number down quite a bit... He was simply giving an opinion and never belittled DI, perhaps it's you who should chill out and try some bran in your diet.
  4. No one said he was the most impressive wrestler last year? however, If i was a betting man I'd take a defending state champ as the favorite anyday. Cash would most certainly not major Wesley but the two won't wrestle so it doesn't matter. And i think Cash will wait and see where Marchetti goes- If he wrestles 52 then look for cash at 160.
  5. Although Ryan lost 7 starters from last year, they will still have some studs to keep them competitive such as Marchetti, Austell, and Wesley. Baylor is the obvious favorite with I believe only losing 4 starters from last year? I also think McCallie will be a much improved team from last year who has an outstanding coach in Connell.
  6. How can you pick a 3rd place finisher from a mediocre weight class at best from last year over a defending state champ Wes Wesley?? If Wesley goes 71 it will not be "wide open." I'd also watch out for Doster if he goes 25 but it'd make more sense for him to go 119 to avoid the wheaties man Hooker.
  7. At least you have one thing right which is Cole Mosley will be at the top of 103. However, I would love to hear your reasoning on how you think Nd will put up 32 points against the true Irish of Father Ryan, especially since you have no idea about the weights yet.
  8. Well said In Hoc. I always asked two questions last season that boone always seemed to avoid --Who would win face to face Nd or Ryan for the right to call themselves the real irish AND why does ND not wrestle in a real division?? Well, atleast one question will be answered this year and even though it may be considered a rebuilding year for the real irish wearing purple, they will still thump nd because they wrestle no real competiton- just look at their so called state duals if you can even call it that.
  9. hmm i never made it into a "Ryan missed too many opportunities" since I stated that BOTH teams had opportunities. My point was to ask for any other known criteria for tiebreakers and i never said baylor was lucky to be tied for 1st. If you weren't so quick to always start an argument you would see tat i said they were lucky that there is no tiebreaker in place because it would favor FR. that doesn't mean i'm bashing Baylor (who wrestled well and has some studs) as your trying to turn it into which is typical to try and stir something up.
  10. You have no idea what your talking about. how does your statement about the st. benedict kid not placing in DI have anything to do with Herman's ability?? and i think herman beat mycyk last year in the ryan tournament so how would he "place no better than third or maybe not at all"
  11. I'm sure what he was referring to was the fact that baylor had a pretty good lead going into the last day and Ryan was able to come back. after FR won the two head to head matches there was of course worry from the baylor side and especially when Ryans last 3 were up. there were many missed opportunities for each team to win it outright, probably more on FR's side. so actually baylor was lucky and i'm sure were glad to not have a tiebreaker. but for once lets not bash the other and just say congrats to both teams. if their had been a tie breaker what would've been the criteria to decide? if it were based on champions ryan would've won and if it were based on team pins throughout the tournament i think it was close but FR would take that as well. does anyone know?
  12. first off isn't notre dame the team that barecat's son wrestles for? so why does he always stink up to baylor? i'm guessing he's just disappointed that he and his son aren't on their team and regardless if he wants to admit it or not. and another question why won't notre dame move up to DI or DII?
  13. HAHAHA wow you are very mistaken. Since you have no idea what you're talking about i'll help you out- baylor and father ryan were wrestling different teams in the smaller gym and in the bleachers a PARENT in a RED shirt was going back and forth filming his team and another team that happened to be wearing PURPLE. so an assitant from that purple team walked up and politely asked said he'd appreciate it if he would stick to filming his own team. and the parent replied like an a** 'i'll film whoever i want'. and also in their finals match after the match between the doster kid from baylor and collins hill, i'm guessing the doster's kid dad got right in a collins hill parent's face and was screaming and making himself look like an idiot. so what did we learn this weekend- that red team has alot of class and respect for others HAHAHAHA
  14. those three along with lawrence who is the 52 are all injured. if they have all of them back in the line up for collins hill dulas they should do very well.

    MBA 215

Questions were answered when Bartholomew was pinned by quick from tullahoma. and in the next match clanton from father Ryan went out and beat quick pretty easily having him on his back more than once. I'll go out on a limb and say Clanton is the best 215 in DII right now maybe the entire state.
  16. you must be bitter since the real irish are located in nashville and not knox. don't really understand your posts about baylor and other things for that matter. you say some pretty ignorant things and hopefully you say them to be funny or stir things up or whatever because if you truly believe what u say about baylor running over everyone then thats pretty funny and ignorant. but it appears that you feel really important when you get on coacht and post a bunch of ridiculous nonsense.
  17. Father Ryan also didn't have their starting 189 and there heavyweight who won state last year. they had to bump people up and weren't at full strength. I'm not saying if they were at full strength they would've definitely beaten Mater Dei, however the score would've been ALOT closer and they would have had a chance to win.
  18. why are people surprised that they're first? Last year is last year and it should be that way every year. the only thing that matters when ranking the new season is strength of returning wrestlers and father ryan definitely has the most and has the most experience with a ton of seniors who some have been starting since soph year. not to mention they have a national hall of fame coach who will put them in the best position to win.
  19. the only holes the irish had in their lineup last year were a couple light weight classes. Last year they were stacked from the middle to HWT. This year all of their lower weights are returning along with all of the upper weights who did very well excpet Bateman and Dempsey. should be a good year for Father Ryan if they stay healthy and can get all of their weights down where they wanna go.

    Rankings

you keep talking about overton on other threads and how good they are without them even wrestling a match yet. i believe you siad white at 52 will win region and win state but thata a pretty big prediction since he didn't even wrestle in region last year. and i haven't heard of any of those wrestlers that you just mentioned so hopefully they are as good as you are making them out to be.
  21. Yes it is definitely true that memphis officiating is not at the level with the rest of TN. Father Ryan hasn't been to memphis since i think about 3 yrs ago when there were some... pretty questionable calls that cost them 1st in the CBHS duals- to put it nicely. and to answer cbq of course the teams that aren't as good will travel to the better schools to get the experience. why would the better teams always travel to wrestle teams that usually, NOT ALWAYS HOWEVER, are not as skilled?
  22. Well not every program can recruit kids from other states like certain school that will remain nameless. So it must be a bummer for some schools that have to achieve success with the kids they're given. Father Ryan will definitely be the favorite. they have about 8 seniors with a lot of experience who have been wrestling together since middle school days along with a couple juniors who placed in last year's state.
  23. I think they will be if they stay healthy and all their studs are able to get down to their weights. they have a lot of starters returning with a ton of experience.
  24. HAHA, read your first sentence in your original post- 'MBA has dominated in ATHLETICS...'- so pretty sure u did say that. and to talk about the wrestling score being close is incorrect your obviously not a fan of the sport or know much about it because the entire match was decided with about 3 individual mtaches still to go. MBA will never win state in wrestling compared to ryan's 12 or somewhere around there? so it would be accurate to say that As a WHOLE ryan has the superior athletics
  25. well said i agree with your predictions your more accurate than dragon fly who thinks Baylor is always going to be 'unstoppable' every year and that CBHS will somehow be a surprise team. father ryan will be the favorite if they stay healthy. I also still think Franklin will be the favorite in DI even though Zarbo did indeed leave. well said i agree with your predictions your more accurate than dragon fly who thinks Baylor is always going to be 'unstoppable' every year and that CBHS will somehow be a surprise team. father ryan will be the favorite if they stay healthy.
