Alcoa has been very successful for a long time. However, it is hard to know if Alcoa will be just as successful once Rankin leaves. I am sure die hard Alcoa fans will say the success will continue, but I think it will be very difficult for anyone to duplicate what Rankin has done at Alcoa.

I have no knowledge of what Rankin will do. However, those thinking Rankin will only go to a private school to double dip could be wrong. Rankin could potentially retire and then work a 100 day contract. Not saying it will happen but it could.

Do you ever work more than required? And you have won multiple district championships....congrats! Did you work just during your season?

Ghost - Teachers are ten month employees. However, any good teacher/coach works twelve months. Just because teachers only get paid to work ten months does not mean they do not work more. Clearly you do not understand what it means to be a good teacher/coach.

Any good coach is working 12 months. There is more to being a coach than just working with the team during practice/games. Fields must be maintained, eligibility must be maintained, cloth and equipment, recruitment for colleges and forming those next level relationships, supporting student athletes in other sports, etc. There is a lot more but everyone (well almost everyone) already knows this. Coaches even work during the dead period. Imagine two weeks going by without mowing, painting, or getting everything ready for that first week back. Preparation is key even if the kids are not around.

TC is tradition rich program. However, I started to lose respect for the program when applicants were listed to the public for the head coaching position. Some supporters will say it was not a big deal, but to those names listed it might have been. It was unethical and unprofessional. No matter how the names got out, they all got out. The hiring of BS was interesting with some of the rumored names that had applied. A couple were really well thought of coaches that are successful. TC can get back on track, but in my opinion it will not happen until changes are made from the top down.

Providence already has a football coach. Ferguson whom I am told they are happy with.

Pigskin Oakland just reloads. Kids will move into Oakland's zone to win a championship. For the last few years they have had some of the best talent in the state.

Oakland will not be down. Their underclassmen will step up and whatever else they need will miraculously walk through the doors. Same thing the last couple of years.

This EN team has been a pleasant surprise. They play hard and have all the right pieces. However, Alcoa is Alcoa. I think EN can play with Alcoa for a little while then the depth and experience will take over.

BPM I honestly don't know much about metro anymore. I have left and most of my connections have as well. From what little I have seen they are better than most in the trenches. They also have a few good athletes you must account for. #5 I believe is Willy Wilson. Great athlete and even better kid. He has played well in the playoffs. Down side for me is they haven't beaten a really good team yet that could match them up front and athletically. The one game I saw EN play was against Riverdale, a game Riverdale won. From what it sounds like EN will get tested this week. My opinion is whoever leads after the first quarter will win the game. If Dyersburg gets up early it will be over.
