I'm for anybody who gets them out of wing-t mode who is an excellent coach. The next coach needs to keep the next Casey Perkins and the next Key Bradley at SCHS and not lose them to the school(s) up the street or interstate.

They have been missing that one game changer every year. Besides a new coach, they could use an athlete that is a total game changer. But couldn't every team? LOL

I'm not a fan of MJ but I would rank them 2nd after the game they gave Oakland. Certainly was not 37-0 or 38-0.

There is a thread started on the 6a forum about field conditions at CPA last night and in general. I have no connections to Louisiana Tech or whatever that school's name is, so, no, this is not sour grapes about the outcome of the game. It's about right and wrong.

I saw on the highlights that the middle of the field wasn't fit for a mud wrestling contest. Why was this game not moved? The new Nolensville High has an artificial turf field. There had to be somewhere with a less disastrous field condition to play this game. It's time for the TSSAA to step up and get involved with late season playoffs field conditions decisions and have contingency plans ready to move a game as needed.

Since I took OHS to win and cover, can we have sports book legal on high school games now?

I remember the original Bellevue High that looked like the school in the "Hoosiers" movie. It shouldn't have been torn down. It could have been used for something. But I'm sort of torn on a name change from Hillwood to Bellevue. When Pearl and Cohn merged they kept both names. I guess "Hillwood-Bellevue" would be too long to fit on a basketball jersey. Maybe if they change the name they could at least keep the "Hilltoppers" nickname.

Stewarts Creek beat both Antioch and Lavergne by large scores plus was actually ahead of Overton by 2 TDs in the 4th quarter. They are next man up if somebody in front of them forfeits that chance to go. Giving Ravenwood a bye instead of promoting Stewie to a playoff spot is a load of BS. As a 4a school they could play some schools close to that far edge of Bellevue like 3a Harpeth and Fairview... maybe build some rivalries which is part of building interest in a program. They can't generate as much interest by playing Spring Hill or Tullahoma. NCS is in Bellevue... play them too.

When is Hillwood moving to the new campus on that hill out past Bellevue and does this bode well for the southwest Davidson kids staying in public school which would benefit them in football or will Hillwood continue to be mediocre at best with lots of "flight" to private schools? It would be a shame for Metro to spend a zillion bucks on the new school and have people not want to let their kids attend it.

After leading for 3 quarters vs Bye Week High School, Stewie blows yet another 2 td lead in the 4th qtr and lets BWHS escape with the win. Coach Martin wanted to schedule Maryville but they were not available.

Gagging that one up at Overton does make this a virtual must win to finish .500 and go to the playoffs. Coach Martin needs to stop scheduling teams like Blackman and Brentwood... while a certain other school in the north part of that county is playing a 3a school this week and one that is horrible in football at that. That doesn't mean he should be scheduling 3a "competition" but maybe consider playing nearby Nolensville, Hillwood (who will have a new campus soon), etc. With the prolific passing of Shelbyville's qb, I'm thinking a close game. Stewie needs lots of 1st downs and control the time of possession. And stop the turnovers and penalties.

Weed is one thing... but lots of those no-name carry outs are selling paraphernalia that people say is for smoking crack or meth. There are municipalities around the nation that have made that type of paraphernalia illegal to be sold in a carry out. Why can't the towns in Rutherford County follow suit? Why roll out the red carpet for hard-drug using junkies and pushers?

Even though I'm WAY too old to participate in any form of "partying" - bongs are sold at every non-name carry out in Rutherford County.
