If the cats come out flat they have no chance. we have been very inconsistent this year. I do believe if we can keep it close we have chance, but if the Indians jump on us it will be a very tough hill to climb. I think we match up pretty well up front...but not sure about the skill positions.

Pistol is a little different from shotgun actually. It is not under center though. I'm not a coach but going from SHOTGUN to under center can change a lot of things for a qb. Like pass drops, angles to hand off the ball, depth behind the line when throwing too. To me it would be hard to change so much so fast. But, I never played a down. Just like watching and talking about it.

it looked like the pistol not shot gun to me. it was also hard to stop.i wouldn't change a thing. if they fix the turnovers and that is easy, coalfield will get even better. I thought we had the better team but we were out coached too. coalfields D is pretty good. they played much better in the secondary than we had seen on film. still hate losing to you guys. good luck the rest of the way.

I thought both teams played hard. it was disappointing to come out of the game with a loss. I thought we would be the better team especially with all the injuries coalfield had. it amazes me how often we underachieve at oliver springs. coalfield ran it right at us all night. without the turnovers they had it could have been more like 28-6. it was embarrassing that they held us under 100 yards. I still bleed purple and gold . go cats

I haven't read anything saying it wont be a battle. if its a runaway game I would say it will be catholic doing the running. but, make no bones about it coalfield is the underdog in this game with nothing to lose. i really expect catholic to win by at least two scores. kudos to coalfield for even scheduling a 4A private school with a winning tradition. hope both teams are injury free! and OH...go OZ!

listen Q, pretty sure catholic made the first call. only 600 kids... coalfields enrollment is 197. Any way you dice, t the irish are heavily favored in this one. it will take a perfect game from the jackets to even stay close. not to mention depth will come in to play at some point. why would they put more in this match up than notre dame? they were ranked in the top 10 in class 3A? sound like you the inside scoup on this game. all BS aside, how do you see it playing out for real? just hope you exopse coalfield in this one . we get our chance in a few weeks!

hope the jackets win, but I still believe catholic will wear them down. they are not ranked in the top 10 in 4A for nothing. its a big tough task to play a bigger school and win and much harder to play a bigger private school win.

As bad as I hate to say it....coalfield has a good team this year and I hope they win. If they can even keep it close going into the third quarter it looks bad on catholic. They are one of top 6 teams in class 4 A. Kudos to coalfield for even scheduling them. I will never root for a private school . I hope the jackets can pull it off but I'm afraid depth is the difference. Go bobcats ....now I feel better !

Coalfield has several good players and a pretty good staff, but they do not have enough depth to win it all. They should be a handful if they stay injury free though.

One of coalfields starters told me it was 2-2 touchdowns ones vs. ones. Coalfield scored again against a mix of starters and beardens first reserves. Good showing for a class A school.

Are you fellers scrimmaging anybody this spring?

Greeenbacks schedule may be over all a litttle tougher, but also Notre Dame is a preseason top 10 with 19 returning juniors. That will be a tough one too.

The Napier kid from Coalfield is getting some D1 looks as well.

congrats to you guys... I am also hearing he has had a couple of meetings with kids from other schools. those things need to be kept a liitle more confidential I would think.

knox catholic and chatanooga notre dame might have something say about that. two big privates schools that the jackets will have to deal with

I think catholic made the first contact about playing. coalfield called back and was willing to play. Both teams had a difficult time filling out a schedule. I think it came down to being a close game for both schools. It will be a huge challenge for coalfield to play up three classes and keep it a game but they are a gritty bunch.

crow, i was at the game. seymour ran for 35-40 yards on one carry early in the game. the rest of the game the jackets made it hard on him. never thought coalfield would win either, but they played very well and were a turn over away from making it a three score game. greenback looked a little shell shocked to me and never really recovered. still thought the kees would win by three scores.

not sure farmboy is from coalfield ladies and gentleman.....coalfield has not talked smack on the boards all year long. go back and look at the threads. looks like someone is trying to stir up a bunch of mess...lol we are one of there biggest rivals five miles down the road, and there was very little posting at all our game week. with all that said, good luck jackets..... represent the area well.
