  1. This situation is gettin more laughable by the minute. Folks, Webb aka the Spider is NOT coming. I got this from a VERY trusted source. Webb is officially OUT. Was he ever really interested? Let's be honest. Is Independence really the job it once was? I wouldn't think that it would be as attractive since the talent pool is going to be split in half in a year or two due to the new school. We all know who makes the decisions over at Independence. Is he getting what he deserves? can't wait to see what happens in 2010 Anybody know what the name of the new school will be? I want to get my season tickets ready as soon as they get a program started.
  2. If not the Spider Webb, look for the purple dawg.
  3. Hogan, Why not tell us already that the new coach is from the Smyrna area? possibly a former DC? Independence is so screwed! I may not even buy my season tickets this year.
  4. Here is what I gathered from the UPN game they played versus Brentwood. Murphy Fair said they had over 12 starters on defense and offense that are out injured. It looked like to me they were playing way too many young guys, but maybe that is what it has come down too. They also lost too much from last year's team in my opinion. I'm an Independence man so I could be totally wrong. I say Centennial pulls the upset 21-20. GO EAGLES!!!!!
  5. The playoff scenario works this way. There are four 6A schools (Brentwood, Franklin, Independence, and Ravenwood). The district winner and the runner-up will both come out of these four teams since Hillsboro and Centennial have no threat of finishing first or second overall. So there will be TWO teams advance from these four automatically. The top two teams are based on DISTRICT wins first. It is also possible depending on other district results that one WILD CARD team could be selected out of these four. There are only two 5A schools (Centennial and Hillsboro). The one person who posted that tonight against Indy means nothing is WRONG. IF Centennial loses tonight to Brentwood (which is likely) and Hillsboro beats Indy, then Hillsboro would really put a choke hold on a playoff spot. How you say? Hillsboro already has 1 district victory over Ravenwood. Centennial currently has 0 district victories. IF Hillsboro wins Friday that would give them two district wins. Meanwhile if Centennial loses tonight that would leave them with only two district games remaining against Ravenwood and Hillsboro. Both of these games would be MUST wins for the Cougars to advance into the postseason. If Hillsboro could upset Indy and Centennial loses to Ravenwood, the final game of the season would not matter. Hillsboro would already have the spot locked. BUT HEY THAT WOULDN'T BE FUN! WE WANT THE DRAMA! Now let me tell you what is most likely: Hillsboro loses a heartbreaker to Indy. Centennial plays Brentwood as tough as possible but loses. At this point, it won't matter if Centennial beats Ravenwood or not. If they do, they have a district win if not they can still get a district win over Hillsboro and have the head to head tie breaker. Long story short...if will probably come down to Week 10 Hillsboro against Centennial. The winner will play one more week and the loser will be done for the year. Let's face it. Both teams are struggling and probably won't go farther than the first round anyways. Good luck to everyone in District 11! (Go Eagles!!!!!)
  6. In a differnt thread there was a mention of d-coordinator Bennett taking a leave of absence. He was not on the side-line for the MBA game. Any updates on what is happening with this situation? Leave of absence? I heard that he quit all together. There are gonna be some sloppy conditions Friday. Does that help or hurt us against Centennial?
  7. Will Centennial even score? Yep, but it won't be enough. Independence 28 Centennial 7
  8. Isn't Smyrna favored? Why would it be such a big deal for the dawgs to knock off the Cougars?
  9. I hate that I missed the first week but here goes nothing. Games for Week 2: Oakland @ Siegel (Oakland) Smyrna @ Blackman (Blackman BIG!) LaVergne @ Riverdale (Riverdale but closer than the experts think!) Ensworth @ MBA (MBA in the upset) Hendersonville @ Lebanon (Hendersonville) Centennial @ Franklin (Centennial in the upset) Gallatin @ Mt. Juliet (Mt. Juliet is for real or so we'll see) Moore Co. @ MTCS (Moore County) Franklin Co. @ Shelbyville (I have no clue....Shelbyville?) Coffee Co. @ Warren Co. (Coffee County) Alternates: Bradley Central @ Cleveland (Cleveland) South Pittsburgh @ Marion Co. (South Pittsburgh) These were tougher to pick than I thought. These should be some entertaining games! Good luck to everyone!
  10. Who does it favor if tomorrow happens to have some sloppy conditions?
  11. In response to an earlier question, it should be possible for a WilCo and RutherCo match-up in the finale in 6A. Remember....Brentwood, Franklin, Independence, and Ravenwood are all 6A along with all the RutherCo schools. Between the two districts, there should be at least five play-off qualifiers not counting possible wild-cards.
  12. I would have to agree with White House being the favorite. Portland was hammered last week against an opponent that I believe the coaches claimed would be a "W". White House takes this one with ease. Final Score: White House 28 Portland 7
  13. How do my Eagles match-up against Oakland? Will Indy rise up after the big win over Siegel? Will Oakland rebound after their tough loss? Does Antioch bounce back after the Riverdale drumming? Does anybody know ANYTHING about Centennial? Just give me some thoughts about these games. Good luck to all!
  14. Obviously no one has seen these two play except for the scrimmages. I would imagine that the storyline will be Riverdale's size and strength versus Antioch's speed. I believe Riverdale gets the "W", but you know what they say. "Speed Kills!" Good luck to both schools!
  15. This game is going to be closer than the experts think. Franklin is not dominant like years past. Yes, they have some talented backs, but the quarterback is not that good. I've seen him in person. He is going to have problems under pressure. They also do not have a great offensive line which means the backs will have to earn every yard they get. I'm not saying BGA is going to win, but I will be surprised if Franklin torches them. I truly think Franklin finds a way to win it, but I dare to be different. Final Score: BGA 28 Franklin 25 in the upset Good luck to both teams!
  16. I was really impressed with the way Moore County played against Huntland Friday. Moore County may very well be the 1A team to beat in this district although I would not count out Chapel Hill just yet. I'm not sure what Richland has, but I will go with the boys in blue to take this week 0 game. Final Score: Moore County 21 Richland 14 Best of luck to the Raaaaaaaiders!
  17. I agree with all your picks although I'll add one thing. Community is so under-manned that BYE is favored by 3. I'll take BYE for the win and give the 3 points. Good luck to all!
  18. Indy versus Siegel could be ugly. I've heard Siegel is pretty good and may compete for the third playoff spot out of that district. How bad is Heckman hurt? That will be the key. If he is so banged up that he can't play Friday, Siegel wins big. Is our defense really that bad? Why is there no improvement in the linebackers? I thought Campbell brought on this new D-Coordinator to help the team. We've got a week to straighten this mess out. Good luck Eagles!!
  19. I caught wind of a jamboree being played Friday night at Raider Stadium in Lynchburg. Is this true? I can't seem to get a start time nor can I seem to find out the participants. Someone told me that they thought it could possibly be Tullahoma, Oakland, Huntland, Moore County, and maybe three or four other teams. CAN ANYONE VERIFY.... 1) Are they hosting this jamboree at MCHS? 2) What time does it start Friday night? 3) Who all is playing? Thanks!!!!
  20. My father told me of a jamboree taking place at Raider Stadium in Moore County this Friday night. Does anyone know the start time and who may be participating? He seemed to think it would be Tullahoma, Oakland, Giles County, Huntland, Moore County, and maybe three others.
  21. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhoto&albumID=634034&imageID=8454424 Keep in mind only 32 teams will qualify for postseason play out of both 5A and 6A.
  22. Indy destroyed Station Camp. Not to take anything away from Indy, but SC is NOT a very good football team. They have a long way to go and much to improve. I'm curious about Page as well. I never heard anything about it. CAN ANY INDY FOLKS HELP OUT ON UPDATES OF SCRIMMAGES?
  23. You really realize your intelligence when you have to resort to name calling. When I made the comment about the past I was referring to Blackhawk's comment about Centennial's football history as a whole. There is a difference between "what you have done recently" and your entire football past. Maybe if you read into the context of what is being said you wouldn't be so far behind the rest of us, mackie. As far as "eating crow", ask your Mommy and Daddy on that one young buck. Most folks with average intelligence can understand that one. Now let me explain the reference between Detroit and Indy. I wasn't comparing records or quarterbacks. I was just stating that Detroit fans cannot be very optimistic with what the Lions are returning since it's pretty much the core players from last year. Indy is in the same boat. They are bringing back pretty much the same group. They are struggling. I know you can't look much into a 7 on 7, but Indy has not impressed anyone. I hope we look better in pads than we have in these 7 on 7 passing scrimmages.
  24. First off, I'm NOT a Centennial (how about learning how to spell before you shove comments in my face!!!!) fan. I am actually a pretty upset Indy fan. I'm concerned about the state of the football program. As far as the Detriot reference, it's accurate. Football is not about the past. It's all about what have you done for me lately. As far as MackBrown's comment, I don't know what I'm talking about? I will make a promise and comment back each week after Indy plays. I will eat MAJOR CROW if need be. I wish I was wrong, but it WILL be a long season.
