  1. What i like about last years jcs team is that no one made all-state, everyone made state champions. That team was all about the 'team', thats something rare among highschool athletics nowadays. Congrats from a Milan fan, who can relate somewhat. With no all-state players, we still made a great run... But let's get back to the topic of this thread... With the lose of players like #11 and #14, what is it looking like on the roster? You guys going to stay in the spread-out look? I'd like to see a run-down of possible impact players for the '07 eagles...
  2. Congrats to all the JCS players, fans, supporters. You are the only west tn team left in the runnings, REPRESENT US WELL! We know you will, I have heard nothing but good things about this program. I am fully aware that you guys are completely focused on the big game friday, but what is the verdict on how you will fair in the new region? Sorry, I know your season is not over yet, but several people and myself are just really curious...
  3. Top 3: Milan, Peabody Westview...anyone is liable to take the #4 spot. The dawgs are losing few. Humboldt returns alot of guys in the trenches, but loses many key skill players. Westview returns nearly everybody. Peabody returns QB Harper. GC...? USJ will struggle losing 9 defensive starters. As for JCS, welcome to AA! Let's hear whos comin up on the roster for the eagles!
  4. I don't care who ya are, thats funny! But anyways I'm going to play west tn QB analyst for a minute.. Carr has the strongest arm of any QB in the area. PERIOD. In the peabody game, he threw a ball nearly 35 yards without his feet set falling backwards. Not necesarily considered a "Dual-threat" qb, but can get out of bad situations with his feet. Best pocket passer. Has a great receiving arsenal. However, this McKenzie team does not have a serious run threat, therefore, the passing game is easier to shut down. Now I'm not saying they don't run the ball effectively, they just don't have a Demetrius Bracey or Chad Jordan in the backfield. Now don't get me wrong, Tomlin is a great kid from what I here, but some of the decsions he makes makes me wonder if he is as good as all the hype. Does not have near the arm as Carr, but is a bit more light footed. Would not succeed in McKenzie's west-coast style offense. Throws well on the run and does a good job of keeping his eyes down field. Has great confidence in his throws, which has either killed or made the TCA offense. Reason TCAs passing game has success: good running game with Calvin Shaw. With TCA graduating two of their best WR (Jevon Robinson and Joel Essenburg), the passing game will struggle in years to come due to lack of targets. Fowler from JCS has improved as a QB as the season progresses. However, I view him as more of an athlete. Does not throw the prettiest ball in the world, but completes his passes, and in the end, that is all that matters. Does not necesarilly have blazing speed, but does a good job of finding the open reciever. Makes the best decisions of the above two QBs. JCS runs the ball well with Patrick Taggart and Will Johnson, which opens up the air game. JCS has young recievers and should have a dominant passing game in years to come with Matt Hudson (who could very well turn out to be the best QB this area has seen in a while) a hold of the reigns, and that is a necessity if they want to compete in region 7-AA. Although I have not seen the QB from Lake Co play this year, I have heard great things about his athletic ability.
  5. Great athletes on both sides of the ball, Westview has the ad for coaching. I'm going with Westview 20-14 in a 4th quarter thriller...either way, one of these teams will eventually have to face the dawgs!!
  6. Advantages for JCS: -5 game winning streak -Home field -Sounds like their offense is beginning to click -No injuries -Hungry for revenge Ad UC: -Weather is not a factor -Demitrius Bracey -Strong up front -JCS has shot themselves in the foot offensivly all year long As previously mentioned, UC is not the team they were, but neither is JCS. I take JCS in a close one 21-15. Whats the word on Hudson's eligability status...USJ did not go to the play-offs last year, so technically, his 1 year of sitting out is over, correct?
  7. I heard JCS was going to be in AA, but are they going to be in 7-AA?
  8. hhmmm...wonder who might have turned milan in? surley not the mighty bruins, who sent a letter out to every 7-2a coach giving out information on the illegitimacy of one of milans players...
  9. 7 int total tomlin threw 3 hardegree threw 4
  10. i went to this game tonight....it started off pretty exciting-rayner took the opening kickoff to the house (JCS's only points of the night) and on the following kickoff JCS pinned SS inside the 10. SS was much stronger and faster than JCS and ran it down their throats all night. -JCS was plauged by dropped passes -SS running game was too much for JCS d -JCS defense struggled up front -JCS turned it over around 5x
  11. how soon we forget...usj kept this game within reach last year until the 4th quarter when milan put it out of reach...from what i remember hudson threw for a food chunck of yards... milan takes this one 42-6 status on muir?
  12. Good post. Nothing against TCA, but it seems like they just doesn't know how to handle themselves when a good team rolls around (about once every decade). It was extremely poor sportsmanship on the fans part. Seems to me like TCA was surprised everytime they got a first down, why else would they announce it and go crazy? JCS played like they expected to win. First down, no big deal. Touchdown, no big deal, they expected it.
  13. USJ's defense is strong up front and will shut down the running game. USJ will come in underestimating TCA. It wouldn't surprise me if TCA took this one.
  14. bummer, i hope he gets to play this season
  15. How did Hardegree play? I know he was coming off a rough performance against JCS...
  16. Outside looking in, it looks a bit unclassy to run up the score that much...sometimes you really can't help it, but this looks as if it was an absolute blow out
  17. Who is CPAs QB? How did DCA's #41 do?
  18. TCA got alot of big breaks tonight, but probably gave JCS a good scare. A few observations: Tomlin came out slow(2 picks in the first half) but finished with a decent game. When TCA scored, it seemed like it was always a break away play. They would get stuffed again and again but then break a long one. Melton ran the ball hard, but #21 for JCS really pounded it tonight. JCS's passing game was decent, 1 td 1 int. TCA looks like they have some talent coming up. What happened to Matt Hudson? He was on the sidelines with crutches and I heard he is sceduled to have surgery. Details anyone?
