  1. Congrats on the TomCats wild & wooly win Fri. nite! Love your new signature pic! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. Thanks for the heads up! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. There's lots of real "authorities" on the benefits/advantages of private schools up in his area; who knows? He might even live within 50 miles of one....
  4. A lot of those "well compensated" coaches are not making nearly as much as you might think...
  5. Exactly right. Under the Div 1 rules they would be stuck with a small enrollment having to play schools with twice as many kids. They could never legally offer tuition assistance to a kid that plays any athletics; if the school grows in enrollment, they get rewarded by being bumped up to play the bigger boys. It's a no-win for the private school & I'm amazed that there are so many that are staying in with the publics. I guess it's a fear of the unknown... Ever notice how most of the private school haters seem to live out in the rural areas? Those are the areas that don't have the overall public school problems of the large cities...when you live in an urban area and the school you're zoned for is awful, you either pack up & move away or you pay the piper and get your kids in a pvt. school.
  6. Couple of questions: How long has your football program been around & will your school make the move to D-2 A level?
  7. Zion is much improved from a couple years ago. Their QB Daniel Pugh is good. Also #44 is a good football player; however in the end I think Collinwood just has too much depth & talent for Zion.
  8. Absolutely right old SWO buddy! Good Luck to the TomCats this week!
  9. Is Friendship Christian considering the move over to D2 - A?
  10. Do you have a special teams coach? We like to run the Gauntlet drill with the Backs; teaches them to run tough in traffic & hold on to our football. Any fumbling will get you at least 200 yds. worth of bellies at the end of practice. Go Vikings!
  11. Just curious; what year did CPA begin football? I remember reading articles in the Tennessean about their new program but I can't remember if it was late 80's or early 90's?
  12. Congrats to the Vikings! Job well done! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. No mass exodus as of yet. I would say the # 1.8 has something to do with it; although TSSAA's research seems to indicate otherwise. We'll see how this plays out over the next several months.
  14. What is the current enrollment # cutoff between the Div 2 small (A) & large (AA)?
  15. When I played (long time ago) the guy who was constantly talking garbage & flappin' his pie hole never concerned me one bit. It was that silent guy down on the line with eyes crossed who had his slobber running from his mouth that concerned me the most...
  16. I think Coach Rice & the Wildcats takes this one handily by 3 TD's or so. MC is giving up 35 PPG on defense.
  17. A good one!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. Go Bulldogs! Go get 'em Ned! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Our thoughts & prayers go out to Corey. A great young man; hope he gets well soon.
  20. How did the RBS scrimmage vs. Zion go?
  21. Saw part of their scrimmage vs. Davidson Acad. Lots of throwing it around, various spread formations etc. Well coached team & they should be considering their coaching staff experience.
