  4. I wanted to share this movie we did because I think people on here might enjoy it. My main goal was to capture what I love about high school football: the towns and how much it means to every guy on the team.
  5. TSSAA: Reggie Grimes, No. 1 football recruit in state, ruled eligible at Ravenwood TOM KREAGER | NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN | 2 hours ago The top college football prospect in Tennessee for the Class of 2020 can play his senior season. Ravenwood senior Reggie Grimes II was ruled eligible to play this season by TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress on Friday, granting his hardship request, Grimes’ father told The Tennessean. Grimes is the top prospect in the state and a four-star recruit for the Class of 2020 according to the 247Sports Composite. Grimes was ruled ineligible by the TSSAA after he moved to Ravenwood from Mt. Juliet. He and his sister Reghan Grimes changed schools after his dad accepted the defensive coordinator position at Ravenwood. Reghan Grimes a sophomore, is a three-sport athlete who plays volleyball, basketball and track and field. "We felt like we had a good case," the elder Grimes said. "I'm glad the TSSAA saw it that way. "I'm glad this distraction is over with. I told Reggie when we found out that we weren't going to interview about it. It was a distraction. It was time to move on. He said, 'Yes sir.'" TSSAA rules state an athlete can transfer with a parent and be eligible immediately if they are a certified teacher at the original school and the new school. The elder Grimes was a classified employee at Mt. Juliet, but has now obtained his teaching license and will be a physical education teacher at Ravenwood. The TSSAA confirmed that Grimes was eligible but could not comment on the ruling of the hardship. Grimes had 48 tackles with three for loss in 2018 while at Mt. Juliet. He the No. 3 weak-side defensive end in the country and No. 39 recruit nationally. His top five include Alabama, Florida State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He will make his college choice on Nov. 2, the day after the high school football regular-season finale. The elder Grimes, a Hunters Lane graduate, played football lat Alabama and briefly with the New England Patriots. He said he was prepared to move the family into Ravenwood's school zone had the TSSAA ruled his children ineligible. That would have guaranteed the students' immediate eligibility. "I told them before we left (Mt. Juliet) that I wouldn't put them in a position where they would have to miss time," the father said. "That was before we left Mt. Juliet. I told them not to worry about it, to handle their business. The eligibility is going to take care of itself and that I was going to handle it. Even if they said, 'No, the rule is what it is,' then we would have just moved. There would have been as little as distraction on them as possible." 6. I'm curious how all the finalist faired in week 1. Or if your team was put out. Post it here fellas. Meigs QB Aaron Swafford had a great game i want to say 5-6 touchdowns in about 2.5 quarters of play before the younger guys took over. I will try and get exact stats at a later time if I can find them. Or if someone has them please post.
  7. I have come into possession of a football program from September 19, 1952. It's a game between White County and Carthage hosted by White County. Several if not all White County players' pictures are in it. White County's coach was Tom Brixey. Carthage's coach was Turney Ford. Players on the rosters were only listed as Ends, Tackles, Guards, Centers and Backs. Going to try and get the ebay listing up soon. Hope someone's rich grandpa was on one of those rosters.... DL.

  9. Just putting a feeler out there to see what kind of interest there would be for a Play day on March 2 in the Smyrna High School area. If interested please email draytonl@rcschools.net or text 615-397-1668. Thanks
  10. This will be a great game and interesting one. Powell has just shut down 2 time Defending State Champion "The Great" Greeneville Green Devils. This was a huge accomplishment and has put Powell back to the notoriety of a Power House team. AC fell to Greeneville last year in 3rd round playoffs at home. From my view of watching Powell they have a good chance of going deep in the playoffs or further. Do the Mavericks have what it takes to leave Powell and head back North on I-75 with an upset and go undefeated 2-0. Any comments on how these two teams match up and who wins this one!
  11. Well what do you think folks? We lose alot of talent, but we have great talent in the ranks still. What say you for next season. Here is the 2019 Football Playoff Highlights of Meigs County. For any fans of Meigs County this is for you.
  12. The Star Crusaders are very excited to announce that we will be adding three more teams this summer to give us a total of 5. Last summer our 18u team had a record of 18-4-4 with a tournament win, and would also have a total of 8 players going on to play at the next level. Our 16u team would go 11-12 after going 7-1 to end the summer, and making it to the championship game in their last tourny. We are adding a 15u, 17u, and one more 18u team. The Tri-Star Crusaders are dedicated to offering summer ball at a affordable price while getting the best coaching around from current and former collegiate/professional ball players. We are going to play with a lot of energy, while playing the game the right way! We are committed to getting your child a collegiate offer if that is something he is interested in. If you are interested in more information don't hesitate to contact us! We look forward to hearing from you! 15u Coach: Clay Turpin (859)-537-7370 16u Coach: Chase Burke (865)-659-8129 17u Coach: Noah Malicoat (865)-440-8715 18u Middle TN Area Coach: Colt Williams (931)-607-8301 18u Coach and Owner: Ryan Bruce (404)-574-3888 or Rbruce@johnsonu.edu
  13. What happened there. I know 7 ejected but which team or how many from each. This will have an effect on the os and greenback season for sure. If these two can't play is will be off for two weeks before the coalfield game and greenback will be off for an extra week like last year for the play offs
  14. Just wanted to tip a hat at the teams that were underdogs and somehow managed to pull out a victory. For me this is The Tellico Plains Bears. They beat Sequoyah yesterday in the first game of the season with both teams having a new head coach. Tellico had a decent offensive showing in the Jamboree as well against Loudon scoring on the first drive. It's been a long time since I've seen them look good. And I think it's been since 2009 since they beat Sequoyah. They may not ever see this but a congratulations are in order to the new coach and the team. 2A Tellico 28 4A Sequoyah 0

  18. Lake County travels to Humboldt Friday night. Lake County always seems to give Humboldt fits every year Viking best not take the Falcons light. Omp Humboldt has the athletes to make a strong run in the playoffs. Mean no disrespect to Humboldt. But Humboldt better start playing 4 quaters and shore the defense up as well. They have got to start getting out of the gate quicker.
