I pulled up Cookeville's Herald-Citizen online today to see if I could find any stats on Reeder, and i saw in there that he went 4-4 in a district game last night against Blackman, 3 of the hits coming with 2 strikes according to the paper. Thats pretty impressive for a 14 year old freshman! I hope he keeps improving and hopefully i can make it to Cookeville to see him play this year sometime.

Well sonny gray is probably one of the best freshman pitchers around. Last night against goodpasture he struck out 10,and hit a homerun against a quality baseball team. The Vandy scout was there watching Goodpastures catcher and he had the gun on Sonny and he was hitting 88-89 consistanly and hit 90 twice, with a 80 duce.SO yea he is one to watch.

Look back to the Tennessee Copperheads to find a group of freshmen to be watching.  Sonny Gray, Brett Lanning, Matt Williams have already been mentioned and played for the team in the past.  Franklin High has Matt Headley and Casey Dykes seeing varsity play, BGA has Zach Brannon who is looking to get into the mix and Brentwood High has Ben Burgess.  Several other Copperheads are playing JV and/or varsity, as well.

I know Brett Lanning...and pass this word along for me...I could steal on him anyday, anytime, anywhere... ...tell him his Siegel buddy said hello... thumb

Lawrence Co. has some great 8th grade talent. They have several kids that can hit the ball. The last game I saw one kid hit it 380ft. That is a shot at any level but especially for an 14 yr. old. They have some quality pitching as well kids throwing in the high 70's to low 80's with control and good offspeed pitches to go with. They will be a force in the future if they can stay together.

If the pitcher was so bad why did u only get 5 hits and 1 run. If i do remember correctly we swept yall, and if you think we were bad smyrna blows. I hope this comment was just a funny april fool's joke

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
