oak ridge baseball team is not getting the recognition they need. they beat farragut 7-4 @ farragut and was tied to halls in the last inning. they have a really strong program this year. awesome pitching from jason nichols, jake vane, and tim younkin. and their hitting. what can i say ,they are awesome. they are 6-3 in district right now ( tied for2nd with central) and they play halls tonight . and their freshman catcher, mason guymon, is just a badass. he has a 1.9 pop time. and he is only 14 years old.

Whoa there, Stagecoach. As Paul Harvey says "and now here is the rest of the story".

The Oak Ridge win over Farragut needs an * beside it. That was a wood bat "throwback night" game. While Oak Ridge did get the win, there are some circumstances there that don't make it the same as an "ordinary" win.

Yes, Oak Ridge is better than they have been in the last few but they are only 9-7 overall and in third place in a district that is Halls and then everybody else. District 3-AAA is really down this year, with the exception of Halls. Let's wait until the season plays out to say just how good they, or anybody other than Halls in 3-AAA, really is.

Then Oak Ridge got blitzed two Saturday's in a row last week by Ooltewah.

@ Ooltewah, 11-1

@ Oak Ridge, 17-2

then by Halls

@ Halls, 12-8

@ Oak Ridge, 9-2

then by Farragut

@ tournament 16-4

then by Dobyns Bennett

@ DB 9-0

Oak Ridge is better than they have been, but they're getting proper recognition. I have nothgin against them at all - just don't really see your point.

I heard that, a game is a game. It was 6-4 Farragut through 5. OR a costly error after which 8 more runs scored. So, Farragut won--and probably has a better all around team---but, they are not 16-4 better than Oak Ridge under any kind of circumstances---or any "type" of game. Good luck to both of these fine teams as District Tourney time arrives!

farragut used the same wood bats as oak ridge and the same 20s style uniform. oak ridge proved that they can win under "unusual circumstances". they were just a beter team that day. and the game being @ farragut made the win a little bigger

Oak Ridge isn't a bad team this year, they deserve recognition for that, but this team isn't THAT good. They lost a lot of games to good teams like Halls, Farragut, DB, South Doyle, and Ooltewah. You really can't say you deserve recognition for being good until you win a couple of bigs games. Make it out of the district tournament then maybe you'll receive some recognition for your success.
