CPA 3 Hume Fogg 2

Hume Fogg took an early lead but CPA equalized just before half time.

CPA then went ahead 3-1 on a very tired looking Hume Foff team in the 2nd half. Hume Fogg managed to score a second goal just before regulation but could not get the equalizer.

yeah they tied FRA, but FRA couldn't finish once they got in the attacking 3rd. that and an FRA goal was taken away because of a very iffy call. FRA/CPA is always a good match up in district tourney though. last year, FRA was down by 1 until the last 10 minutes of the game when Whitlock tied it up, sent it into overtime, and then McDonald scored the winning goal. should be a good game, as long as FRA beat DCA tonight

The highlight of the game was definitely when cpa brought out their goalie to take a pk...... Needless to say he ripped it, and it was the 3rd goal for cpa....i think his heft played a factor in the sheer force from the kick, but i could be wrong......someone who looked good in this game was alex from cpa....he basically ate hume fogg's lunch all over the field...if i were fra, i'd be watchin out for this guy, cause he's got some skills.......

BigGExpress:

That's my understanding. Only the district winner and runner-up advance to the Regional Semi-Finals. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

By the way, FRA did win last night. 7-2 over DCA. Score was 7-1 at half.

Should be a great game Thursday night. CPA versus FRA. Both have strong teams. 7pm at Trevecca.

I watched Hume-Fogg twice this year and was quite impressed with their midfield play and ball control. However, they had one really dumb strategy and that was playing the offside trap. They were demolished by FRA on this tactic and it cost them again yesterday against CPA.

I really thought that Hume Fogg would step up and move on to another level, but they let this one get by them.

I have to disagree with the thought that FRA will not beat CPA. FRA is playing very well right now and are really the "Middle TN" power and probably the only team that can stand in CAK's way

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
